My wife and I stayed 2 nights. The hotel and grounds were very clean. We booked a King room, with a separate bedroom. We checked in without issue, a little after 4 p.m.. The room was clean for the most part. The carpet felt mildly damp. Like it had recently been shampooed. We dropped off our stuff on the bed, and went out to eat. It was dry when we returned. The living area was stocked with your basics, coffee, water bottles. The room is in bad need of an update. The sleeper sofa and chair were outdated and terribly uncomfortable. There were holes in one couch cushion. We never used the bed inside, but look at it. It appeared clean and there was bedding provided for it. The walls of the room had huge purple stains on them, which I thought was mold at first. I have no idea how old they were.
The bedroom was in better shape. The bed was adequate. Not the best, but comfortable. Everything was clean. The master bathroom was great. Lots of room and clean. The tub is huge, easily fits 2 people. The shower as well. The water pressure was a bit lacking. It could barely run the pulsing shower head, and the water temperature fluctuated wildly at times. The tub is so big, it took around 10-15 minutes to fill it enough to use the jets.
We did not eat at the hotel, so we can't speak for the restaurant. It closed pretty early though. 8 or 9 p.m..
We used the indoor pool and hot tub one night. The pool was too cold and hot tub not really all that hot. Never touched them the second night.
The location is good. The Outlet Mall is within walking distance or a very short drive. A few questionable restaurants are also within walking distance. The hotel is also about 10 minutes or so from Columbus and 25 minutes or so to Nashville and Brown County State Park, Indiana.
We probably won't stay here again because of the outdated living area. That couch/loveseat was just...
Read moreWe booked ahead of time to arrive and find out that the Justin, the 2nd shift concierge, had rented our room out to someone else and the hotel had no rooms left. There were several events in the area and all hotels in a 50 mile radius were completely booked, so it wasn't like we could just cancel our reservation and go to another hotel. We waited in the lobby for an hour before they decided the best course of action would be to put us in another room that was already booked by someone else, which would leave that guest in the same position we were in. We hated doing that but we had our daughter with us, we were several hours from home, and it was already very late. We didn't see another option. When we got into the room it was dirty and smelled terribly. There was a very thick layer of dust on any surface that was not regularly touched. There was trash and a box of condoms left in the room. The heat/ AC unit in the room leaked excessively. It soaked one of our bags that was sitting on the floor about 2 feet from the unit. This is the Hilton, not the Economy Inn. I paid over $200 to stay in a musty, dusty, damp, dirty room with leftover condoms and an excessively leaking AC unit. Aside from an apology from the lady at the desk, all they did to remedy any of this was to offer us free breakfast. The breakfast was very comparable to the continental breakfasts that many hotels offer to guests free of charge, the only difference being, they typically charge $15 a person for it. The breakfast definitely did not make up for their many failures and shortcomings during my one night stay. I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND staying here. We would have probably been better off just sleeping in our truck. Do yourself a favor and go...
Read moreHad traveling issues and was forced to get a hotel spur of the moment. I saw online that I could get a room for a certain price. Walked in, Sunday afternoon/evening and asked what kind of rate I could get. I was quoted $6 more than the online rate. I told the gentleman at the front desk (who almost seemed annoyed that I interrupted his cell phone play to inquire about a room) that I could get it cheaper by booking through my Hilton App. We discussed for a moment, and he gave me my total. At this point I was too tired to think about it. The next day, I saw that I could have saved money (I know it's not a lot, but it annoys me) by stepping back, booking online, stepping back up, and checking in. I came down later, after settling in my room, to get some essential toiletries and again interrupted his precious phone time. Tyler, the bartender, was this hotels saving grace that evening. She was super friendly, helpful, and absolutely brightened my evening. She was knowledgeable about whiskey and bourbon, and helped me pick the perfect drink for the evening. The interrupted man at the front desk gave me a complimentary breakfast coupon, so I did have breakfast in the morning. The made to order omelette was delicious, and the two women serving breakfast were helpful and friendly. Room itself was cozy, pillows a little clumpy but overall not bad. Did venture down to the pool, and the facility there was also well...
