We wanted to stay at Comfort Suites just around the corner, but we have two dogs. Comfort Suites doesn't allow pets unless they're service dogs. The young man at the desk had a couple of other recommendations. He called La Quinta Inn & Suites and asked if they had a room and if they accepted pets. They said yes and they did. When we arrived, Beatrice asked if we were the ones that called. I said yes. She was very nice and friendly. She got our room keys and, since we had our truck loaded down, she arranged for us to park in an area where she had a clear view of it all night on the security cameras, and she could monitor it all night long. The police also patrol the property at various times of the day and night in their cars. She even set up a cot in the room at our request (we paid extra for it), and wheeled a luggage cart to the door outside of where our truck was parked so we could get our overnight luggage to our room quickly and easily. Beatrice provided excellent customer service! The room was clean and comfortable. The free breakfast the next morning was excellent and abundant. They served scrambled and boiled eggs, bacon, sausage patties and links, cereal, instant oatmeal, yogurt, waffles, apples, bananas, oranges, coffee, orange juice, milk, tea, apple juice, cranberry juice cocktail, water, biscuits, gravy, fruit streudel pastries, blueberry muffins, bread for toast, butter, strawberry and grape jams. The only things they didn't have were bagels and cream cheese. All the food was excellent, fresh, good quality, and tasted very good. The property has a pool and a fitness center. It was a very nice and...
Read moreThis was by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had. As soon as we entered the room we were immediately hit with a smell of mold and mildew. Everything felt wet. The sheets, the chairs, the carpet... everything. My key stopped working in the side door so I had it replaced, I suspected it was because I had it near my cell phone but I also had my second key near my cell phone as well and it worked fine. Upon further inspection, we were able to identify that there was in fact mold growing on the ceiling of the room. Upon checkout, I mentioned this to the attendant at the counter. After looking at some paperwork for a second, he slipped and said "Yes, I can see there was a maintenance request for that." before taking it back and saying "We will put a maintenance request in for that." Which to me says that they knew about the mold in the room and had done nothing about it. When we arrived home and unpacked our clothes it immediately became obvious that all of our clothes and even our bags smelled like mildew. I will never stay at this hotel again and will probably never stay at a La Quinta again. I'm okay with the 1 star because the water...
Read moreWe stayed in this hotel twice - once in 2019 and the second time last week. Nothing really has changed since the first visit. |Pros:|1. Location - super convenient. Right off the interstate and on the bluebonnet trail if that's your interest. Gas station is across the street, as well as McDonalds and Freddy's Steakburgers. However, for a late night dinner you will need to go to Denny's (which was very good!) or further into town.|2. Bed was OK regarding comfort|3. Sheets were clean and so was the bathroom|4. Refrigerator and Microwave were in working order and were actually clean.|5. Staff was very attentive to our needs.|Cons:|1. Rooms - we stayed in a suite twice - are dated, smelly.|2. Room keys are very capricious and we needed to replace ours 3 times during our 2 day stay. The side door pretty much was not accessible.|3. Noise factor - we stayed on the second floor and could here every step that was taken by occupants upstairs. |We did not have breakfast, so I can not comment on that. All in all not a bad experience for a...
