Extremely poor experience which seems to be a commonality for customers at this location. I stopped here during a road trip and my encounter ended up delaying me for a whole hour and some change.
I pulled into the drive thru which had just a single lane and it took an extremely long time to get to the place to order. I asked for a breakfast bowl and specified that I didn’t want cheese or gravy. A couple minutes later, I received my food and while I’d been delayed about 20 minutes at this point, I was happy to just drive off and eat my food on the rest of the drive.
I opened the bowl and was about to begin eating after getting back on the interstate but noticed my breakfast bowl was full of cheese and gravy so I looped around. I returned to the drive thru to find just as long a line as I did the first time, and it moved just as slow. I then respectfully made my complaint and was told my order would be made correctly this time. I was offered the option for an alternative menu item but requested to have what I initially ordered instead. I was told it would be a 6 minute wait and was asked to park in a curbside pickup spot.
I then started taking care of a couple random to-do list items as I waited. But after what felt like a really long time, I felt like I had to go into the store. The person I spoke to at the counter expressed no visible reaction to me explaining my ordeal (I now understand that this is due to the overall ineptitude at this location). He then goes to speak to someone who appeared to be a manager and you can tell that was only the first time they began working on my order. He comes back to let me know that she would take care of it, to which I ask what had been going on with my order the whole time I was ‘waiting 6 minutes’. He then claims that the oven takes a while to come on, which simply makes no sense. After all, I was offered the opportunity to select a different menu item and upon declining, was told it would only be a 6 minute wait. Had anyone mentioned that the oven needed to heat up (again), I’d have opted for something quicker.
A couple minutes later, the ‘manager’ comes and hands me the food somewhat cheerfully saying “here you go, it’s all fresh”. Okay? Why would the food be anything other than fresh anyway?
At no point did anyone apologize for the error that was made or actually provide a semblance of a reasonable explanation. But I guess receiving ‘fresh food’ an hour after pulling into the drive thru makes this...
Read moreI just left there they are out of everything but attitude I can guarantee you they have plenty of attitude to go around for everybody in the state of Texas and that’s no joke. I stood there for 15 minutes while their employees texted on the phone by the counter I guess all taking a break at the same time until finally a young man comes from the back of the restaurant and asked me what he can do for me I ask for a large vanilla shake he informs me at that time we’re out of vanilla shakes while standing At the counter for 15 minutes five different people through the drive-through ask for certain things like cheese and bacon and stuff like that they’re out of everything my question is if you are out of 80% of your product why not shut the doors and turn the lights off and go home And I would just like to add that no I am not just giving them a hard time because they’re short staffed during the pandemic that Whataburger had more people working in it than most full-size restaurants have working in it so no it’s not because they are short staffed those young kids need a taste of reality if you’re going to work with the public you cannot have the attitude you dish out like that...
Read moreOn way home from grandsons football game. Stopped for burger to go. Needed restroom so that was first stop. Floors needed mopped. No paper towels except overflowing trash and ones that had spilled from trash to floor. Got there right at shift change so there were "employees" everywhere who were obviously more interested in catching up with friends than the old guy who mentioned needing paper towels in restroom. Also was informed I couldn't have what a burger and small drink and small fry cause that wasn't the way they came. Note I didn't order meal deal. Also since I planned to eat it while I drove I ordered mustard pickles and onions only (less messy). Not only did I get lettuce and tomato but unwanted jalapeño also. As I was leaving I mentioned the paper towel situation to an unsmiling and un-apologetic young man in beige shirt that I assumed meant he was one of authority. He said he'd look intof it. Only bright spot of whole visit was a young Hispanic girl who was going off duty who looked over and smiled and asked how I was this evening.
