I recently had a deeply upsetting experience at Tractor Supply, and I feel compelled to share my story. My father and I went into the store to pick up some supplies for our farm, expecting the usual friendly service. Unfortunately, what we encountered was not only unprofessional but also racist behavior from one of the cashiers, which completely ruined our visit.
The problems started when we approached the checkout counter with our items. There was a young woman working the register, and from the beginning, she seemed disinterested and distracted. We tried to make small talk, as we usually do when checking out, but she barely responded and seemed put off by our presence. This in itself was odd, but it quickly escalated into something much worse.
When my father went to pay for the items, the cashier made an offhand comment about our accents, which was both inappropriate and unnecessary. At first, we tried to brush it off, thinking maybe it was just a poorly timed joke, but the situation continued to spiral. As she was scanning our items, she began to mutter under her breath about how āpeople like usā always come in and make things difficult. My dad, who is a quiet and respectful man, politely asked her to clarify what she meant by that remark, but she just smirked and didnāt respond.
Things took a darker turn when she started making rude comments about my father's clothing, saying he looked like he "didnāt belong" in the store. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable, especially from someone who is supposed to be providing customer service. It's one thing to encounter bad manners, but this felt like blatant racism, and I was honestly shocked that this was happening in a place Iāve always considered to be neutral and welcoming.
Whatās even more disappointing is that Tractor Supply claims to be a company with strong values and a commitment to serving all customers. This experience showed me the complete opposite. If this is how they allow their employees to behave, Iāll certainly think twice before shopping there again. As customers, we deserve to be treated with kindness and respect, regardless of our backgrounds or appearances. The store failed miserably in this regard, and I canāt in good conscience recommend it to anyone, especially after such a disturbing encounter.
This kind of treatment is not something anyone should have to endure, and I hope that Tractor Supply takes this issue seriously and addresses the problem more effectively in the future.
The cashier in question was Cheyenne, wont be coming to this Tractor Supply any more. Very...
Read moreABIGAIL! ABIGAIL! ABIGAIL! I am SINGING this young employee's praises! I pray that the Tractor Supply Co in Ennis recognizes what a Shining Star employee they have in HER! My recent experiences with the Tractor Supply Co had me feeling extrememly discouraged before this pleasant, radiant, SUPER achieving young lady entered my life this morning! My experience with the Tractor Supply Co franchise began on June 21st, when I ordered 5 lb Quikstrike Fly Bait online for pickup from their Mesquite branch. I received a very disappointing follow-up email on June 29th stating that my order had been cancelled! I was trying to get this for my family's July 4th celebration at a lake! I immediately called customer service at the number provided in the email and was told that the Mansfield location had the product! I was allowed to prepay over the phone and I was told that I would get an email that the item was ready for in store pick up. Oh, I received an email, alright! Cancelled! AGAIN!!! Needless to say, I was furious! So after work this morning, I drove ALL OF THE WAY TO MANSFIELD (because THEY NEVER answer THEIR phones!) to find out face2face what happened. Excuses, excuses! Anyway, I then asked the Mansfield worker to look and see who else IN NORTH TEXAS had this product. It showed that the Ennis location had 4 containers, and the Mansfield worker gladly discouraged me from "believing that number". She was nice enough to Google the telephone number and here enters ABIGAIL! ⤠She told me that they had 5 small containers. Unfortunately, she said, they were out of the 5 lb containers that I was so deperately seeking (its a big lake! Lol). I asked her to hold 3 and that I was 45 minutes away. I told her I'd be wearing scrubs. As I walked in, she appeared like an Angel from Heaven, saying "Look what I found!" while showcasing the 5 lb container between her two hands, Vanna White style, and beaming at me with the prettiest supermodel smile! Disbelief had me staggering into almost a fall before supreme joy had me dancing in the aisles (no lie! Thay have cameras to prove it! Lol)! Abigail, I sincerely want to thank you for being a SUPER employee! Some people somewhere should be extremely proud of you! I look forward to coming back to the Ennis location for ANY reason, just to support the business of someone who has you as an employee! Thank you again! You TRULY brightened my day and changed my previously negative opinion of this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe only reason I'm giving one star is because I can't give none. For starters, I know several local people in the farm and ranch industry that complain about this store. I haven't done a lot of shopping in this store and didn't have anything to complain about. Until about a month ago. I was in the market for a 4'x8' utility trailer and they were the better option all they way around. I went up there when they opened with a farmer friend so I could get a discount. We did the whole transaction with the discount and the exchange of money. All the while the manager, Chris, is going through every drawer behind the counter looking for the titles to these trailers. My friend leaves and I go to the parking lot. A few minutes later, Chris walks out and proceeds to tell me they are going to have to refund me the money because they couldn't find the titles. He had no explanation and all he kept saying was I'm sorry. Sorry doesn't get back the 60 minutes of our day only to still leave empty handed and pissed off to boot. If you're an Ennisite, I sympathize. If you're from out of town. Shop...
