This was me and my fiances first time to Eureka Springs. We really were novices. Upon looking for a place to stay this seemed very reasonable and a great value. Most of the other places we looked at were priced higher or didn't look as nice. A lot of places seemingly look nice but are a bit run down. When we arrived it reminded me of some lodge from the 80s like in a movie the great outdoors or something to that affect. It felt nostalgic in that way. The people at the desk and running the hotel were very nice and friendly. On the inside of the room it looked very nice and very clean. It had a rustic lodge theme going on but in a nicely decorated way not tacky. The location was great! It was not downtown but also not far from everything either way you want to go. We stayed for about 4 nights. There were a few things I want to mention. The bed was comfortable. I have a bad back and it didn't kill it which most hotels do bother my back with stiff mattresses. The mattress protector however is annoying. When you laid on the bed it filled with air and it was like laying on an air mattress that bubbles up with air trapped in it. I understand why it's there but it had to be unzipped. The wifi available was pretty much non-existent. It was such a minimal speed you really couldn't use it. The main thing though was the AC unit. It worked and it got cold but whatever was going on between the outside and the AC not being able to remove the humidity. The amount of humidity in the room was unbelievable. The bedding was like wet. It was so bad my fiance went 30mins away to a Walmart that had a good dehumidifier and bought it to use in the room otherwise it would have been just miserable. Let me say we emptied it a lot. The longer we stayed the more I noticed. It looked like they had some water damage in that room and it was freshly painted over etc. I get why with humidity. There were little things like that. The ice machine didn't work. Overall I was glad we stayed there for the location and with some accommodations on our part...
Read moreThe nicest, most genuine hotel staff I’ve ever experienced! The room was very clean, had beautiful rustic decor, hot showers, and all the amenities - microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, Wifi, ice machine etc. - that make a difference. When I was checking in, Lou (who runs The Lookout Lodge with her husband Shawn) shared with me many recommendations for Eureka Springs, and when she asked if I liked coffee and I said yes, she brought us a larger Mr. Coffee maker to use instead of the one cup brewer in the room. She was always very nice and stopped to talk every time we saw her during our stay. The highlight was her helping a family whose truck broke down during their stay. She made phone calls, used her own car and jumper cables to try and start the car (but that didn’t fix it), and even got in more than once and helped physically push the truck to try and get it onto some of the various rental equipment that he used - and when none of it would work and his family had already taken their other vehicle and driven the 150 miles to their home in Tulsa for the night, she offered to let him stay the night at no charge. Very generous! The only drawback we felt was that when we booked through Booking.com, there was no mention of the fact that they have a hot tub! We would have loved to enjoy that, but we cannot say enough positive things about this hotel -...
Read moreI found this place on Airbnb and received a great price. I think the pricing was because the holiday was over and I was coming on the day everybody was leaving... Maybe or maybe not.
It was quiet and I slept well.
There are two little chairs and a little table in between outside of each room.
I had room five and it was on the lowest level. The trees are the backdrop and it's peaceful.
The jacuzzi was the main reason I took this place because I needed it for being on the road for 2 weeks. It worked well and was nice to use.
I really like the decor here. It has a bear theme and just a lot of cute decor that went well with the room.
The room was spacious overall, I had a king room with a jacuzzi tub. It also had a full bathroom with a shower/tub.
Easy check out, I just put the key in the Dropbox and left.
The one thing I did not like was the office smelling of mold / mildew, I did let the owner know that this is something I feel is important to be fixed sooner than later, I am hoping he does something about it.
It's in a great location on the Van Buren strip and within 10 minutes either way you are finding quite a few options to eat/shop.
I did notice a lot of the places I wanted to go to eat, only had hours for Thursday through Sunday or maybe Monday. With summer I'm hoping that changes for people...
