Razorback Lodge — Hotel in Eureka Springs

We made a reservation for four nights on Dec. 24. Received two confirmation emails from booking.com . On Dec. 26 we had just crossed into Arkansas, when I received a call. Took it on the car hands free and it was the lady Razor back Lodge. She asked if I had received her message and I explained that I was driving and unable to check. She stated that she hadn't checked her email and didn't see my reservation and she had already sold it. Then said she was sorry. I then said, " So my reservation is canceled?" To which she replied, "Yes, I'm sorry" I spent several years as Director of Security for Embassy Suites in Dallas and Irving, Texas. I can't even image a property doing that to a guest. Calling them up and saying we sold your room, your reservation is canceled, sorry. We did run into this a few times at Embassy Suites, when guest would extend a stay. At the very least we would find a location and pay the nights stay until we could get the guest back the next day. Never and I mean never, would we just leave a confirmed reservation to fend for themselves. Poor customer service practices. We stay in Eureka Springs two to three times a year and I can promise Razorback Lodge will not be on my recommended...

The staff were very nice and friendly and the accommodations were okay. Minutes from the historic down town, which many who visit Eureka Springs come to visit. When we checked into our room there was an overwhelming smell of Lysol and a clip on car air freshener clipped onto the air conditioner. Even with the smell it didn’t feel to be all that clean. Our in room amenities included an iron, ironing board, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and a hairdryer. The beds in our room were too hard and the pillows too flat for my taste. The toilet didn’t really seem like it wanted to flush everything. Must be a water waste prevention system. The pool had some tree debris in the bottom but the temperature was cool and relaxing. Traffic on the highway could be heard all night. There is a Dollar General right next door if you need anything. That all being said, we didn’t choose this place because we wanted a relaxing getaway. I have been coming to Eureka for many years, and have stayed in many places including this place several times and it was one of my favorite places to go to u till our visit in April when we took our parents down for my dad's birthday only for them to return with unwanted passengers returning with them! BED BUGS!!!! My dad has veet little feelings in his lower legs and is on steroids so he did not even know he was getting bitten so it took us about a month to figure out what was going on so you can only imagine! Not to mention dad lost his recliner which is the only place and way he can sleep! So my poor 71 year old father had to go almost 2 weeks without a comfortable bed for him as we didn't want to place the new recliner in till we knew for sure the nasty things were gone! After reading these reviews and seeing post as far back as 7 months ago it infuriates me that these owners did not let us know there was an ongoing problem!!! I thought they were good descent...
