The worst experience I had with 10+ years of Gold Elite membership with Marriott group. On the checking in day, the staff seems overwhelmed and under trained and the line up was 15 plus people constantly. I arrive at 1:30 pm for a 2:00pm promised check in time and was told that the room will not be ready till 3:00. They did apologize and I told them I understand. I took the family and drove downtown to get something to eat and look around, can back 5:00 pm, tried to check in and was told again room not ready, it will be 6:00pm. At this point we have been traveling all day and the kids no longer wants to be driven around. I told them they need to find a way…. 30 min later, an on duty manager came over and did few things on the console and then magic, there is a room ready for you. Our original front desk just look at me and told me, it is her 4th day so she is not comfortable doing room change that’s why. Ok the stay went ok despite some road noise for next to the highway. I had requested a late check out from the day I booked the hotel and the response was we will get back to you if it is available, I understand. No one reach out to me on the checkout day, i had to ask them and explained to them that i was robbed 4 hours of the stay time because of no fault of my own. It can all be make up by allowing me to do a late check out. Without asking me even how late, the response was we have more than 100 booking coming in so no late check out. I again explain about how I could get in the room till 6, she then explained yes that was probably due to late check out. So it was perfectly ok the day before and perfectly ok for my family be the victims.|When it comes to us asking for sometime to get out around 12:30 instead of 11:00. The answer just a polite version of a no! I again asked that how are 100 rooms all going to be clean at ones, can they not just get to my room little later, It will not in anyway impedes the progress of having the room ready. Guess what, the answer changed, she now tells me that it’s not her call it’s out of her hand. I gave up and completed the check out but decided to wait by the hotel and see when they actually get to the room. As I left by 12:45pm, no one has even touched the please do not disturb sign and they are still on the same room that they were cleaning when I checked the family out. I think I found the reason why they couldn’t have the room ready in time. Sorry for the long story but this was just the worst experience over such a simple thing that could...

Read moreFully understanding the covid protocols for hotels in the state of Washington, I specifically booked a Room formula polytes at the Delta hotel based on the responses from the employee who was working the front desk on the night I arrived. I was finishing up a business trip with 4 days of family time which centered around my 75 year old uncle and his grandson, visiting from California. In light of their visit I had sought out a hotel that would have a pool and hot tub available for use for myself and my guests. I was told on the phone before booking the room that this was fine, up to 8 people would be allowed in the pool area during each sessions allotted hour. I confirmed that this was acceptable upon checking in and again was told it was not a problem. With my alloted time at the pool approaching and my uncle running behind, I decided to take his grandson into the pool with me and told my uncle to come down the main hallway to the pool area when he arrived. What happened to him is wholly unacceptable. This man, who I revere more than you could know, a disabled veteran of the Vietnam War, and one of the most honorable men i have ever known, was stopped and questioned as if he were a homeless drug addict with no right to access to the building. The desk clerk, apparently following hotel covid policy, would not allow him to even come to me so I could verify who he was, nor did she make any effort to contact me at the pool to inform me that he had arrived. Instead he was made to sit in the lobby until he could get through to his grandsons cell phone. While in that process the Delta hotel manager also came out, with zero respect or effort to assist this veteran or me, his paying guest, just left him to sit in the lobby being told he was not allowed to use the pool. When I finally came out to check on him I explained to the desk clerk the situation, apologized to her for the inconvenience and the fact that she was going to get some of my frustration, though I knew clearly that the cause of this ridiculous treatment did not fall on her. While I was speaking with her, obviously not happy about how my uncle had been treated, unbeknownst to me the manager himself walked by me 2 different times, I thought he was a janitor, and he completely avoided addressing me while instead going to the pool and informing the others that our time was up. There's more but I've reached the word...
