I recently stayed at the Delamar Southport to celebrate my sister's birthday, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish!||First off, the location is incredibly convenient—just an 8-minute walk from the Metro-North station, making it super easy to get to from NYC/Grand Central. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the charm of this quaint, picturesque hotel that exudes elegance and warmth.||The room itself was cozy and quiet, with the comfiest beds that made it hard to leave in the mornings. Each day, we were treated to complimentary waters and chocolates, which was such a thoughtful touch. But what really set the experience apart was how the staff went above and beyond to make my sister’s birthday special.||Waiting for us in the room was a bottle of wine with a handwritten note wishing her a happy birthday—such a personal and welcoming gesture! Showed up for our wedding weekend our room was basically worst in the house! - a room right next to the lobby, looking out to the courtyard on the ground floor with people seeing in. The staff knew that we were the bride and groom as myself and my fiancé spoke with 2 different staff prior to booking.

When we asked to switch rooms they said they were fully booked and maybe would be able to accommodate us tomorrow.

We then asked if we would be able to switch with some of our bridal party that has not shown up yet as we have 5 + other couples staying at the hotel. We were told they could not accommodate that request either.

Long story short when our guests arrived and were in a better room in the second floor we switched with them( thank god for great friends!) . When we told the front desk they had no good reason as to why this could not have been done to avoid the frustration of ourselves and our guest.

I have had better service at the Hampton inn! The manager was in the end apologetic after he realized their mistake yet offered nothing to ease our frustration. Safe to say it will be our last visit as well as our families...
