Went to Hughie’s Jewerly and Coins in Southport Ct for the first time today. Went to look at estate jewelry and the possibilities of selling vintage coins and paper monies. Was greeted by Hugh himself, he treated us like an old friends. Small quaint shop. The shop was impressive with vintage jewelry including many art deco pieces. Hugh was extremely outgoing and not one bit pushy. He took his time with us and talked about many of his pieces including the era which they were from. We spent over 1 hr looking and discussing pieces. I ended up buying two of his vintage bracelets at a wonderful price. It’s difficult to accurately express the amazing experience I had with Hugh, Chloe and their dog Oliver. They are kind, genuine and have the best connections, as Hugh’s family has been in the business for 80+ years!! Hugh was able to turn an unused ring that I had for 20 years into an absolutely gorgeous necklace that I will wear and cherish for years. The turnaround time from when I dropped the ring off to when I picked up the necklace was under 24 hours. He was so thoughtful with every detail and spent so much time with me. Not One to Write Reviews, But This Was Worth It Hugh and Chloe are incredibly kind, professional, and honest. That said, I still wanted to shop around to make sure I was getting the best price for my gold. I visited several buyers in different towns, and my initial impression was confirmed—Hugh offered the best price by far. It wasn’t even close.
