On this past Friday I went to Farmington to go to a car audio competition. I stayed at the Marriott's town place on main street. We checked In around 5ish and left. When we got back a friend of mine joined me in the lobby/breakfast area to purchase a mech mod setup and learn how to use it. We got permission from one of the staff members who also gave me permission to vape in the privacy of my room. Saturday evening a fellow vapor And good friend of mine joined me in my room for a couple beers and some vape. We got a little cloudy and the smoke detector went off. The office came by to verify we weren't smoking cigarettes or drugs in the room. That Monday at checkout our shower set the alarm off again, this morning we checked our credit card and they charged us $250 for "smoking" in the room. I called the hotel and they at first said there was smoke damage, then insisted we were smoking because vape couldn't possibly make that much clouds. So I called the corporate office in Washington D.C and they called the hotel to try to get them to refund the charge to our card, they refused, I called and left a voicemail for the hotels G.M and she called me back and we went in circles on how vape isn't cigarettes nor is it in their terms and agreements for staying in their facility. Her words (her name is Donna) "I recommend you call your credit card company, because I refuse to refund the money" I wished her the best if luck in this battle And ended the call.
I refuse to pay this, I will call the better business Bureau, I Will call their local news station and I will dispute this with my credit card company.
If you are In that area be aware of this hotel. Do not stay here If you plan to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI travel through Farmington 1 - 2 times a year on my way from Utah to visit my mother in Roswell New Mexico and have never been disappointed in the staff or the rooms which are always very clean and comfortable. The staff is always very helpful and courteous. Recently we came through there on our way home from a family reunion in Ruidoso and accidently left a quilt that my husband's late mother had quilted and had sentimnetal value to all of us. On our trip home we discovered we had left the quilt and promptly called the hotel in hopes of having it sent to us. I spoke to a very helpful person at the desk and was assured it would be sent to us with no problem. We returned home and waited for a delivery which never came. I became concerned after about two weeks of waiting and finally called the hotel to see if they actually sent it. I spoke to a very friendly person named Nicole who went searching for the lost blanket and pillow only to discover she was unable to locate our left items, but took my phone # just in case she found them, I thought that was the end of that and the quilt was gone forever. I received a phone call from Nicole the very next day and they had located my missing items and informed me she was sending them out that very day. Although I offered to pay for the postage to send the package to me ,she insisted on paying the postage and promptly sent it out to us on next day delivery. I received my goods today and could not be happier. Thank you Marriott and a special thanks to Nicole who went above and beyond to get our family heirloom back to us. We will always be booking with TownPlace Suites...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was not going to write a review but this was the last straw. My husband and I stayed here last month to attend a funeral. When we received our room, I naturally started to put our things in the proper areas; bathroom, closet ect. The last guests testosterone cream was still in the bathroom. After that I started to wipe everything down as I was discussed. The surfaces were not wiped down properly and the bath tub was not cleaned. The shampoo, conditioner and lotion were already used and more than half gone. Now a month later we receive a charge from the hotel. Towneplace Suit is how it reads on our statement. We had no idea were this charge had come from being that the stay was a little over a month prior. We cancelled our cards and froze our account until we could get past Veterans day and speak to the bank. All while calling our local TownePlace Suits. Finally I called my husband and asked him if it could be from the last stay. He called and they told him that the charges were put in wrong and that they were just corrected. The manger called us back later after requesting a call back, and told us well those were your charges that you received for staying one night and sorry. She sounded irritated. So, I reiterated the reason for my frustration, and how this was a huge inconvenience ending in our having to reorder new bank cards and what not. It was an o well, sorry from her. All could have been avoided if not just for some professionalism on their part. A simple phone call. This is the first and last time we...
