Outback Steakhouse — Restaurant in Farmington

The food was almost decent, but the service was just horrible. I showed up on a Sunday night alone to have a dinner by myself while on a work trip. I was served and waited on by a server with pink hair, who was nice to me, but completely failed to check up on me during my visit. I showed up 10 minutes before 8 PM and wasn’t able to get my check until 10 minutes after 9 PM which is when they close. Again, I was by myself, so there was no reason my visit should’ve taken that long, but I was literally waiting almost a half hour just for my server to return so I can ask for a box and check. It was kind of bad from the get-go as I ordered a salad, an appetizer and an entrée, and when my iceberg salad came out, it was missing half of the toppings, and I had to wait just about another 10 minutes for my server to come around so I can ask her for the remaining toppings. The cheese fries I ordered were pretty dry and the sirloin steak I had lacked flavor. Not once during this one hour visit do I recall my server coming up to check to see if I needed more water or even ask if I wanted dessert like most servers do. She seemed preoccupied with chatting with her coworkers at the bar, and even when she came to check on a different patron, who I was seated near, she did not even glance in my direction to check up on me. Kind of felt a little trapped waiting for a box and check so I can leave.

Four other people who were also with me working from out of town, but dining separately on their own, told me they had poor service that night as well and received poor quality of food. I’ve been to Outback’s at other locations before and I’ve never had these problems so I don’t know if maybe they just were having a bad night, but I would not recommend going back...

We called in and made a reservation, highly recommended earlier in advance. We made it for our reservation and the hostesses greeted us promptly but then proceeded to their other duties. We stood around for about 20 minutes and another party came after us but were sat before us. It was a little disappointing because we had the same amount of people and were already waiting to be sat. Their inside sitting area said it was closed and for the parties to wait outside which we did, the party that came after us sat in the closed seating area and were not told to wait outside... So we went in and waited in the are and they finally sat us at a table that was empty the entire time we were there. They are practicing safer conditions for social distancing compared to some of the other restaurants in Farmington. Other than that initial treatment by the hostesses, our experience was great. For a few of my party members this was their first time and they were not displeased. Our server was super kind and was prompt with our food and got us refills with ease. I can't remember her name but if I did I'd praise her for her great service. We waddled out of there with full tummies and a few doggie bags because some of us couldn't finish all our food. We had 3 different appetizers and enjoyed the French Onion soup. The cuts of steak were tender, juicy, and cooked just right. We were pleased to receive bread in the beginning as well, a pleasant surprise. The only bad thing I can remember was the baked potato had way too much salt, hopefully they don't over salt yours if you decide to go here. I see the reviews for this place and can't figure out how anyone can recommend this place. I went with family who had chose to come here because of their experience at other locations as being good. But tonight the service was horrible, we rarely saw our waitress. We saw so little of her that everyone in our party had forgotten what she looked like. It took over an hour for food to arrive, some over cooked, but no one was sending anything back to wait another hour to get it back. The steaks were tough and chewy, the portions were smaller on some plates than on others for the same items. Things don't make any sense here, there were plenty of open tables, so the place was not that busy. We saw other tables leave because of how long the wait was for their servers to take orders, bring drinks, or wait for their food. We only waited because we had hungry kids to feed. Each time I came here was because of someone else's choice, hoping it would be a different experience. At least this time, none of our orders were messed up or omitted, which up to now happened during each visit, although my wife's drink order kept getting missed or was incorrect. The wait for everything was horrible, and to add to that, it took just as long to get our check after we had another waitress go find ours so we could get it. I try to dissuade all my friends and family from coming here. I personally will never choose this place. For the price of the menu you would think things would be better.
