I just moved to Fayetteville on Active duty orders to Fort Bragg. I chose this hotel for 10 nights based on the previous reviews. Well, upon my arrival, the hotel seemed pleasant but the location and staff were not. Anyway, I proceeded to my room on the first floor and discovered the next morning that there were ants filled in the room. I politely went to the front desk to notify them. I ended up asking a nice gentleman who was in maintenance and he came and sprayed. On the same day my room had not been cleaned or serviced. Again, I called to the front desk and the excuse was “we had over 60 checkouts and didn’t have time to clean all the rooms”. So, I said that’s fine, I understand.” I notified a very nice housekeeper in the hotel from the Philippines, who could only speak little english. She didn’t understand what I was saying when I asked her if she could provide me some towels or room service. So, I took my own linen and placed it by the laundry door, took my own trash out and placed it inside of the trash can adjacent to my room. I went to the housekeeper’s cart and I asked her if it was okay for me to grab some towels, soap and trash bags. She said “oh yes, you need cleaning”. I was aware she couldn’t speak much english so I said “yes, no one came today”. She apologized. The very next day, after parking in the back of the hotel near my room for easy access, discovered many ants in my car, and my room wasn’t service for the second time. After calling the front desk for the second time, they stated that some housekeepers were short staffed and they would come and clean. Someone came approximately 30 minutes later to help clean. On the very next day for the 3 rd time, I came back to my room around 3:30 pm to discover my room had not been cleaned again. Went to the front desk to report it to the supervisor Letika, she offered to change my room for the next night because they were all sold out. I asked her the the general manager on duty but was not there. I told that I didn’t have any problems with ants in the room and had too much luggage to move on the another or upper floor room. I simply need room service everyday and shouldn’t have to switch a room for that. She looked in her housekeeping book and stated that someone wrote on the book that I didn’t want any service. I told her that I had left my room since 6 am and it would be impossible for me to have be in contact with a housekeeper and I did NOT leave a no service sign on the outside of my door. So she came to my room and said I’ll do your cleaning since housekeeping is gone for the day. So, I gave her my trash bags and linen, she brought some new linen to me. Now, on the fourth day, arriving back to the hotel at 2:50 pm, once again, bed have not been made, dirty towels are in the room and trash had not been taken out and no return call from the general manager as promised from the previous day. I asked to speak with a manager and was able to speak with Crystal Gwin, front desk manager and she told me that there was nothing they could do, but move me to a different room. I am also a disable veteran and can not drag 6 luggages onto another floor, I requested the first floor for handicap purposes. She never apologized for my inconvenience or seemed to care about my experience for the past 4 days. She stated that someone will clean my room shortly. After, returning to my room, discovered 4 ladies cleaning my room and changing my sheets for the first time since arrival and one housekeeper stated that they have had call outs, understaffed and forgot to clean this room. So I asked her to please call the manager at the front desk to explain that to her so that I won’t be looked at like a guest that’s just complaining about nothing. She called her housekeeping manager, Shanna Watson and stated that I need room service. So I went back up to the front desk to tell them what the housekeeper stated and Shanna had a very nasty attitude. After this I packed up and...
Read moreWOW!!! Homewood is so awesome, where do I start? Let me get our minuscule complaints over with first. On Sunday May 5th, when we were preparing to pull out for the beach, breakfast was not completely ready at 7am as advertised. Other than that, we wish there were 2 bedroom units offered, so we could have different sleeping quarters than our daughter without sticking her on a pullout. We chose the 2 queen, dealt with it and all was fine. Now on the the positives.
The hotel is close to everything you need including food (groceries/restaurants), entertainment, etc.
There is ample parking, and it is FREE!
The lobby was modern, clean, and very inviting. A great first impression! Check-in was a breeze. I was greeted by a friendly staff member and I received an unexpected welcome package with bottled waters and chips.
Homewood uses the updated room key system which allows you to use your smartphone as a key (with their app), or just touch the lock with an actual key card. I figured out that I didn't even have to take it out of my wallet. I just touched my wallet to the lock, and voila.
We booked a "2 QUEEN BEDS 1 BEDROOM SUITE NONSMOKING" online and what we got in person did look like the website photos.
The rooms are great! Roomy enough, comfortable, stylish, very clean and I could go on. The beds were super comfy, and the shower felt blissful! Besides the rooms, the entire hotel looked nice, inside and out.
The free breakfast was some of the best we've had. It's not just the stuff you may be used to seeing at similar hotels. In the 2 days we were there, we saw cheese omelets, sausage, biscuits and gravy, cereal, oatmeal, toast, muffins and a lot more. They even had walnut halves and other add-ins for oatmeal/cereal or just to eat.
As far as staff goes, everyone we encountered was nice, warm and genuinely concerned about our satisfaction as guest, including front desk, housekeeping and maintenance.
We honestly can't wait to go back and highly recommend this...
Read moreI had a 14 day reservation due to a home invasion and a violent attack on me with a baseball bat. My insurance company (shout-out to State Farm) reserved and paid for my reservation. I was very grateful to be in such a nice hotel that I thought cared about the privacy and comfort of their guests. 7 days later, however, I found out that Homewood Suites "secret security" team had secretly investigated and spied on me for me for reasons that are still unknown to me.
After 7 days without a single complaint against me, I was informed that the management wanted to leave the hotel. No reasons were given to me other than front desk agent telling me that have "secret security" that wrote a negative report on me. When asked for details, the agent told me that it was "above my pay grade" and she couldn't give me any information. I let her knew that she was being very cryptic, and she had the audacity to get offended.
After several attempts to contact the manager, I still haven't received her reasons for secretly spying on me and kicking me out is the hotel. I need answers. This hotel, its staff, and the manager are the problem. I have a strange feeling there were privacy violations committed during the secret investigation.
Stay away from this place. While the manager is bouncing her self between the 3 properties that she runs, she will never have the time to even give a person a simple call to explain her actions. The costumer service line is a useless bad joke. AND I STILL DON'T KNOW WHY THEY...
