The Apple Crate is overpriced, has misleading return policy, and has lost a customer due to how the owner chose to confront me about returning some items. As another Google reviewer mentioned, the owner is full of greed.
I had been a fairly regular customer for at least the past two years, had a decent rapport with the owner and employees, and tried to support them as a local business when I could have gone across the street to Harris Teeter to buy many of their products at a lower price.
I had bought some products to try them in an attempt to help my brain fog associated with a chronic illness that I have. It is an illness that is difficult to manage, and for which there is no cure. I was desperate to find relief. I tried them briefly, and then was introduced to a product that is only sold in England, and turned out to be more effective for me than other products I have tried. So I decided to return them, and had the receipt. I had been award that their return policy was they would issue store credit for returns without a receipt, or issue a refund for returns with one.
Right away, the owner confronted me, and proceeded to reprimand me in front of other customers and her employees, accusing me of abusing her generous return policy by having returned items on two other occasions during the past year. If she wanted to confront me about this matter, she could have tactfully taken me aside to speak to me privately. Instead, she chose to humiliate me in front of several other people. When she allowed me to speak, I said that I would not return the items, but she said that she would honor the return that time.
I later conducted a search in my bank account online to see how much I had spent there, and since April 2013, I have spent $1,700 at either of the two stores in Fayetteville, but mostly at the store on Raeford Road. I would have searched further back, but the search tool will only let you go back 18 months. I donât know an exact dollar amount for how much I have returned for store credit or a refund, but I estimate that it was approximately 10 percent of my total purchases.
I do not understand why the owner has that return policy if she is going to get angry when customers return opened products, even with the receipt. If she is going to get angry at customers for returning items, perhaps she should modify the policy to set limits on how much a customer can return within a certain period of time.
I had gone there to return the items, and buy a product to treat my cat's ear, nose, and throat condition. After being humiliated, I still bought the product. If I hadn't needed that for my cat, I would have left right away.
In the future, I will have to order natural products online or purchase them elsewhere because I will not go back to either of the stores. I will be sure to let others know about the Apple Crateâs business practices, and the ownerâs lack of...
Read moreI wanted to love this place but I'm actually pretty heartbroken over it. The cashier was walking through aisles, coughing, without a mask, around products, near my mother and I. This is a very small store, which makes it hard to socially distance. When they checked us out, they asked if they should put a mask on, something about how they lost their last one? They then proceeded to put one on. My father died at 65 of "Covid" Jan 27th. He had every symptom, but wasn't officially tested because tests weren't available then. I miss him every day of my life and I wish I knew what we know now. Maybe he would still be here. My mother and I are both immuno compromised and also have multiple medical conditions. I use health food stores to get my life saving medication that can't be prescribed through a pharmacy. This is the first time we had visited since moving down here after my dads death. its a very small store and I see how it could bring such value to the area, however, I'm extremely disappointed and scared because of the lack of precautions the employee took. I'm deathly afraid that i'll lose my mother and then I think about all the other people who come there who are like myself and my heartaches for them. One would think a health food store would be more health conscious with hygiene during a pandemic considering people who visit health food stores often have health issues which brought them to that style of life in the...
