This happened on March 15 ( Saturday). We drove 5 hours from Jacksonville to Pensacola. We are a family of 4 (with a 12 yo and a one yo). We were exhausted from all the packing, moving, and travel for the past few days. Was supposed to be staying for a week until we close to our new house. We got into our room (201), and I could tell the sheets and pillowcases were not changed. There were hairs, bugs, stains. My husband told the front desk about the dirty sheets and even asked if there was another room we could transfer to, but she said none was available. She instead gave my husband flat sheets and pillow cases. When we were about to change them, the fitted sheets under the flat sheets were also dirty; it had a blood stain and more hairs. I called the front desk, told her about it, and asked for new, clean fitted sheets. I told my husband again about it when he returned to the room after unloading our stuff from our car. He was upset and went to the front desk again and told her about the blood, and just said to her that we would check out and find another place; that's when she said she could transfer us to another room (which in the first place she lied that they don't have one available). My husband went to check the room with the front desk staff and, of course, my husband tried to strip the sheets to check if it was clean; that's when the lady got mad . First, they gave us a room with dirty sheets; what did she expect us to do? Of course, we needed to check the sheets to see if it is clean or if they were the same as the previous one. With the demeanor of the staff which was not accommodating, very defensive, making us feel like it was our fault for being so picky? I have a 1 yo baby who was born preemie and was sick, I should be picky, we will be staying here for a week! I booked this stay 2 weeks ago and this is what we experienced. We end up leaving the place, load our stuff back to...
Read moreLocation: The hotel’s location is excellent, situated right next to the university and within walking distance of shopping centers like Target, gas stations, Kohl’s, and various food places. This convenience was a major plus.
Service: When I arrived, there was only one staff member on duty. Despite the holiday weekend rush, she managed to keep up with the influx of guests, answering phones and assisting everyone efficiently. She was on top of it.
Room Cleanliness: Unfortunately, the room cleanliness was a significant letdown. Given that this was a soft launch, I expected everything to be immaculate. However, I encountered several issues:
First Room: There were yellow stains on the sheets and dead bugs on both beds. The bathroom was also not thoroughly cleaned.
Second Room: Although there were no bugs, the cleanliness was still subpar. I ended up using my own sheets due to the condition of the hotel’s linens.
Booking Confusion: There was some confusion with my booking as I had reserved through a third-party site. I received a text while driving, informing me that I couldn’t check in late however I booked on the hotel’s website. Despite this mix-up, I didn’t face any major issues upon arrival.
Security Concerns: During my stay, I was woken up in the middle of the night by a man yelling and screaming. There was no staff on duty to handle the situation, which made me feel unsafe. This lack of security is a serious concern.
Overall Experience: While the location and the effort of the lone staff member were positives, the cleanliness and security issues overshadowed these aspects. I would not stay here again due to...
Read moreWe drove 13 hours to get to this location, due to the hurricane. Front office manager named Julia, was the only one working at the front desk with a line of people out the front door. Got into our room looked at the sheets & couldn’t believe there was yellow stains & dog hair over. Okay no problem it’s a pet friendly hotel, I totally understood. As we are getting settled into our room, I’m looking around & everything was covered in dog hair & dust. I have been to many pet friendly hotels & never have seen such a thing. So I went down to the front, the office was apparently already closed for the night. My husband had to go to Target to get cleaning supplies. There was no way I was going to let my 1 year old walk around this place. Next morning I went to the front desk, first thing & spoke with Julia told her the issues we had & even showed her the pictures on my phone. She didn’t care what so ever, told me she would send someone to clean the room today.(couldn’t even tell me a time). I explained to her we already cleaned the room the night before, so there was no point as we were leaving the next day. She only took $25 off our bill for one pet fee.
so I’m telling you do not stay at this place, it might look nice on the outside but everything is dirty & broken. Manger Juila doesn’t seem to care about her customers.
& for your comment below one of your co- workers did bring us new sheets & also I did ask to switch rooms. You told me there was no other rooms available, you have clearly lost...
