Otaku Japanese Cuisine — Restaurant in Ferry Pass

First time today 1-2-2023. Happy New year all!

Absolutely Fabulous tasting Food. I go there 45 minutes before they closed. Great service. I mean they asked me so many questions double triple checked if I needed anything else. The other server stopped by to make sure I was good to go. It is excellent to have overlapping service people.

My Chicken Teriyaki Bento with Egg Drop Soup and Ginger Salad was so good. The Chicken Teriyaki was so delicious well cooked very tender and scrumptious. The vegetables were soooo good and marinated well .... as well as the sushi that came with it. The dumplings I think are called Gyoza. Oh my, they were crisp and since I at 55 still can not grasp the use of chopsticks I could finger dip in the spicy mayo. Oh my OH MY. I was looking for that taste and it all was well made.

This Place use to be "Shanghai" a Chinese Buffet and I went to it with my wife (may she RIP) for 25 years or so. So glad Nori is here.... the Covid kinda ruined all the Buffets and they had closed. I am 6'2 weigh 235 lbs and eat a lot. I almost finished the Bento. I was using the steamed rice to get all the yummy-tasting teriyaki and just could not eat it all. Very filling and yummy to the tummy. Their egg drop soup seems to be egg whites only and I downed that first. When no one was looking I slurped the bowel since I could not get the last drops with the spoon. Ginger salad is so good I feel regret I did not get one to go for my daughter. Haha.

I got Chicken Fried Rice to go for and special order Sushi. They were very accommodating in making me special sushi. Miso Soup and Cucumber Salad. Will repost since the togo order is for tomorrow. I always get stuff to go to enjoy the next day from restaurants that have excellent...

As an appetizer we tried the Gyoza! We ordered the fish tempura, royal shrimp and Hawaiian rolls. Y'all.... this place is AMAZING!! Sushi was very fresh and hot! The service was absolutely superb. Our waitress came by to refill our waters 3x plus a couple more times to check on us. She didn't miss a beat! We were in and out in just 30 minutes!!! That's literally record timing! It's so nice on the inside too. You can see the chefs in the kitchen at work from the table. We could tell from their faces that they definitely take pride in their work! I would also like to add that when you pull up to the restaurant the windows are blacked out. You will appreciate it when you're sitting down and you don't get blinded by the bright headlights of the cars that park right out front! This is our go to sushi place from now on! Inside looks nice and inviting. Service was extremely slow considering only 4 tables were seated. Once seated, took a bout 7 minutes for someone to ask if I had been helped. Food came out relatively quickly. Miso soup was good. Both the volcano roll and the spicy tuna roll were ok. Considering the overall quality and the $18.72 for 2 basic rolls and a coke (without tip), I would say it’s pricey for what you get. Once the food was dropped off at the table, there was no return service checking if I needed anything. Never got a refill. Since I had time, I waited to see how long it would take to get my check after I was through eating. After 12 minutes of waiting, I finally had to flag one of the 2 servers to ask for the check. Still didn’t ask if I would like a refill. Overall...
