Every time my wife and I come here I order the Jambalaya. Every time I have to send it back because it's cold. The last time we stopped at this establishment was this past Sunday April 29th. My wife asked the guy at the counter why the food is always cold and do they just pull stuff out of the cooler and heat it up in the microwave? He didn't even try to deny it. If you walk towards the bathroom you can peer in the kitchen door and see their line and they do have a grill for the burgers, but they also have two plainly visible microwaves at the end of the line for preparing everything else. This place could be much better than it is. The only good thing I can say about this place is they have good cornbread and potato salad. It's pretty hard to mess those up though. The employees always seem lost like it's their first day and the guy working the line is always just standing around even with orders coming in. The drink machine doesn't work properly and drinks always taste off. There's just no management going on in this place. There are other much better cajun style restaurants in the area that would appreciate our business.
If this isn't a true review then maybe you should maybe ask your employees how they prepare your food. I can't believe you would try to insinuate that I'm lying. You have poor people skills. At the very least you could have apologized for the terrible experience and asked me to email you to clear up any issues but when someone calls you out for what is going on at your establishment you're going to deny deny deny! Poor business leadership trickles down to the rest of your team. No wonder this place has been on a steady decline since it opened. I'll take my business elsewhere. This is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was going to try this place out and looked at the online menu the week before and chose a couple of things to try but when I went to look at the menu one more time on the day I was going, I noticed the prices went up a lot, like $2-$4 for each meal nor did I see the items I wanted that were on the menu the week prior so I called and they said they still did the 1/4 BBQ chicken and was just a few cents shy of $12 and a choice of white or dark. She said the dark was a leg and the white was from the shoulder. Well I never heard of "shoulder" as a cut of a chicken and I wanted to make sure the 1/4 chicken was a full quarter consisting of a leg and thigh which is what a quarter of a chicken means everywhere else and even when you buy leg quarters at the grocer so I called back to get a clarification on it but they wouldn't answer the phone. So I went on in to the restaurant and before ordering I asked if the dark quarter chicken consisted of both the leg and thigh and the girl said "No, it's just a leg". Well that is not a quarter of a chicken so why call the menu item a quarter chicken instead of "1 pc" or "a leg". I'm not going to spend $12 for a chicken leg with 2 sides plus having to buy a drink on top of that, I might as well go to a buffet at that price. It's ridiculously high priced for small portions. There wasn't a single customer there when I went in, I guess this is why. Upping their prices for small servings of meat is going to run themselves out of business. Oh and the BBQ quarter chicken is just BBQ sauce on the side, not baked on or cooked...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis experience broke our hearts. We fell in love with Voodoo Grill as soon as it opened in Pensacola. I recently praised this place in this same rating service celebrating their anniversary and the opening of their Crestview location. Today I wanted to show my wife, who is from Spain, a sample of Mardi Gras celebration for her lunch break, picnic style. I ordered from Voo Doo online. I ordered three Shrimp Po Boys. My wife has certain hate for specific things. Pickles, oinions and heat spice being at the top of the list. My daughter and I love all the fixing options! I picked up our order and set up our picnic. What we got for lunch was three identical shrimp Po Boys as described in the menu as standard Po Boys. Not one single Po Boy was as ordered by me. Not one! I could go on about this disappointing experience including details about the display of arrogance by the manager in front of the entire restaurant and my daughter, who has Down syndrome, but that would distract from the real issue. Reading. The online order was so easy to fill. The receipt printed out exactly how the order was placed online. That was ignored entirely as if the cook could not read the instructions. If this is the case God bless him. This is a wonderful place to eat in. The attention to deliverying that authentic NOLA experience is wonderful. Again, today broke my heart. On a positive note they did give me an entire refund, after the manager...
