My husband and I recently spent a long weekend at Westwall Lodge in Crested Butte at the end of March, and it was nothing short of fantastic. From seamless ski-in/ski-out access to top-tier amenities, this resort truly delivers a luxurious mountain getaway.
--SKIING & RESORT FACILITIES-- The lift service was fast, and lines were minimal, making it easy to maximize time on the slopes. The convenience of skiing directly in and out from the room was a game-changer, adding an effortless flow to the entire trip.
After a day on the mountain, the outdoor hot tub was the perfect way to unwind. The hot tub and pool area were impeccably clean, and the scenic views from the hot tub made for an unforgettable après-ski experience. The hotel bar was another highlight, offering a great selection of beers and creative cocktails to enjoy in a cozy atmosphere.
--LODGING-- Our room was spacious and cozy, with a warm fireplace and comfortable couches creating the perfect place to relax. The beds were super comfortable, the showers had great water pressure, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook a meal in the room. While there was no A/C, it wasn’t an issue—we left the windows open to let in the refreshing mountain air.
The indoor heated and covered parking was another standout feature, making it easy to load and unload gear without dealing with the cold.
--SERVICE & EXPERIENCE-- One of the biggest highlights of our stay was the incredibly helpful and friendly front desk staff, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Their hospitality truly elevated the experience.
--FINAL THOUGHTS-- Westwall Lodge is perfect for families looking for a high-end, stress-free ski experience. The combination of luxury, convenience, and top-notch service makes it a standout choice in Crested Butte. If you’re looking for a ski retreat with all the comforts of home (and more), this is the...
Read moreRead moreWe are long-time Vail skiers (40 years) but had become disillusioned by the whole Vail scene. So it seemed that a trip to “not Vail” was in order! Crested Butte has a reputation of being an authentic town with real people and a great mountain, but where to stay? Westwall Lodge looked to be ideally located, and based on an extended phone call with Ben (Manager), we made the decision last spring for skiing this year! We will be checking out tomorrow after a wonderful stay, and already thinking about coming back in the summer! A couple of highlights for the skiers:||1. They have their own lift you access by waliking out the back door||2. They have an on site ski rental service that puts your skis outside the door in the morning and brings them back in at the end of the day||3. There is a locker room to store and warm your boots||||Most importantly this review is to recognize Ben. Things don’t always go smoothly, but Ben was there to fix them! We were so impressed with him when we called for initial information, but even more impressed how he and his staff went out of the way to make our stay perfectly wonderful!!...
I made last minute plans and decided to stay at the West Wall Lodge. Within an hour of my reservation, my fiancés flight from Denver to Gunnison was canceled, so she flew into Montrose. I called West Wall back immediately to tell them I had to drive 2 hours to pick her up, so we were just going to stay the night in Montrose (stayed the night at the beautiful Bridges Golf and Country Club). Now I completely understand that my room was "non refundable", but come on. $455 (w/tax) for a room that wasn't even used....in the off season nonetheless, and only offering an unspecified "discount" the next time I stay, is pretty poor customer service. I would have been happy with a partial credit or even a voucher towards a future nights stay. I frequent my brothers house in Mount CB several times a year, but I can guarantee I won't be back to West Wall to use my "discount". LOTS of other places...
