I have sent this letter several times with no response from Omni so I am posting it here: "Dear Management of Omni Resort Championsgate, I am writing to formally address the experience my family and I had during our last stay at your esteemed establishment from July 10th to July 14th, 2023. Regrettably, several incidents occurred that significantly impacted our stay, prompting me to bring them to your attention in the hope of resolution. Upon our arrival, we were initially assigned to the Sunset Lodge building and encountered challenges with room assignments, delays in room readiness, and a lack of adherence to our request for adjoining rooms. These issues disrupted the celebratory atmosphere we had hoped to create for my son's 7th birthday. Subsequent room changes, marred by delays and inconveniences, included the distressing discovery of a room affected by a sewage odor and another infested with bedbugs. The bedbug incident was particularly distressing, leading to multiple room changes, loss of personal belongings, and valid concerns for our health and safety. The resulting disruptions to our planned activities and the emotional toll on my family have left us deeply dissatisfied with our overall experience at Omni Resort Championsgate. Moreover, challenges with the amenities provided in the villas, such as broken kitchen fixtures and insufficient cookware, further detracted from our anticipated level of comfort and enjoyment. Additionally, discrepancies in the final billing for our stay have contributed to our disappointment. As loyal guests who frequently choose Omni Resort Championsgate for special occasions, we were surprised by the difficulties encountered during this visit. Our previous experiences have always been characterized by luxury accommodations and exceptional service, making this recent encounter all the more disheartening. Given the gravity of the issues faced during our stay, including the distress caused by the bedbug infestation and subsequent treatment, we were disappointed by the lack of fair and appropriate compensation provided by your management team. Despite multiple attempts to communicate and address these matters, we felt disregarded and disheartened by the manner in which our concerns were handled. To supplement this correspondence, I will be sharing relevant photos and videos to provide a comprehensive overview of our experience, which have been previously submitted but seemingly overlooked. I am eager to work with you to resolve these concerns and restore our confidence in Omni Resort Championsgate. Thank you for your attention to this matter." The videos would not upload to google for this review so I attached a screen shot from one of the videos. In the videos I have, you can see them crawling around all over the furniture. The text message screen shot shows I had to be awake until 4AM on my son's birthday to receive all of our belongings (minus a couple items that they lost) that the Omni treated for bed bugs. We all slept in dirty swimming wear because all our clothes were removed for treatment as we relocated to a new room. I did not sleep at all since I had to stay up waiting for our clothes and all my party supplies, then once I had everything at 4am, go set up all the party supplies for my son for when he woke up. The photo of the leg shows just a portion of what the bed bugs did to our skin. Omni administration has refused to acknowledge and compensate for this. We reached out to them for months and now I am resorting to posting this letter and review online to share my experience. A previous Google review (Rosie) and her response from OMNI, we were told the same thing, that there was a negative report from a third party exterminator (whom they pay), that it must have been a mosquito even though we showed them full video of the bed bugs and in person. Those staff members that came that night all said it was bed bugs. My physician said it was bed bugs too.
My photos are preventing my post from listing after a week of processing,...
Read moreWhile staying at Omni in Orlando for a conference, an employee sprayed me with a substance that seemed to be bleach, damaged my clothes, and to this day the hotel refuses to pay me back for the damage. Even worse, I’ve been treated like I’m lying about my damaged $120 suit. At this point this is about more than the money - it’s about how recklessly and disrespectfully Omni Resorts really treats its guests.
In late 2023 I attended a conference at this hotel. One afternoon, just as I was pushing the women’s restroom door open, a cleaner on the other side sprayed me with a liquid. She apologized and I went on my way. A few minutes later while in a meeting I realized my BRAND NEW suit had bleach stains on it. I immediately took pictures, right then and there. It was a busy day so the next day I brought my damaged suit down to the front desk and asked to file a claim.
Instead of allowing me to file a claim, Omni staff told me that they could fix the clothes and mail them back to me. I told them that it’s a bleach stain and asked if they are sure it can be fixed. They assured me it would be fixed. My mistake was trusting them. The clothing was mailed to me later and I kept it hung up in the laundry plastic bag, making the mistake of trusting that Omni Resorts kept their word, and not checking the clothes. Months later when I was ready to use the clothes again I saw to my utter frustration that the exact same bleach stains were still on them. The clothing had note with a phone number on it so I called immediately and got the laundromat. I explained what happened and they told me that nothing can be done about bleach stains. So I asked - why would the hotel send my clothes to them if it couldn’t be fixed??????
I called the hotel immediately and after a lot of back and forth I demanded they file a claim like I’d asked them to do months before. I even sent them pictures of the clothes - some from the moment I noticed the stains and some from the moment I realized they hadn’t been fixed. Some time later the director of loss prevention, Mike Cords, called me and began interrogating me about the clothing. He asked me why I waited so long to check the clothing, as if it’s my fault Omni resorts bleached them and didn’t fix them like they said they would. He claimed that the head of housekeeping personally inspected the clothing before it was sent to me and the clothing was fine at that point. I asked him how long this head of housekeeping had been employed at Omni Resorts. (Because clearly she must be incompetent to not have noticed the stains). What he didn’t seem to be aware of before saying all of this is the fact that the laundromat they used literally cannot do anything about bleach stains. He said he would look into it and get back to me. He also agreed when I politely requested he follow up with me via email, not phone.
The interrogation left me feeling accused of lying and feeling thoroughly disappointed. My time is worth so much more than what I’ve spent going back and forth with the horrible staff at Omni Resorts. Furthermore, even though Mike Cords agreed to follow up via email, he still insists on calling me, and leaving voicemail and email asking me to call him back. As if I have nothing better to do with my life than to be at his beck and call. I even had to call headquarters instead, since I have no update on the claim and the Omni director Mike cannot seem to respect his own commitments regarding communication.
To literally spray a guest with a BLEACH substance and then drag them through the dirt over a $120 claim is unconscionable. What if it was a more toxic substance they sprayed me with? What if my clothes were more expensive? To this day I have no idea if they’ve even revised their housekeeping practices to prevent this from happening to any other guests either.
I’ve stayed at hotels of all calibers across the world and I’ve never had an experience like this. Guests (and Professional Conference...
Read moreExtraordinally disappointed. I stay and work in a lot of hotels. I dont normally stay in Omni's but I've visited them and had, ok-ish, experiences. We were here as part of a wedding party so it was my own money paying for the room. I also hold this hotel to a high standard due to the cost/night plus how they present as fancy.
tl;dr: I've gotten better service and better maintained rooms in low budget roadside hotels.
They had the rehearsal dinner in one of their meeting rooms. Food was about on par for hotel food, ok, at best. About 75% of the guests left early due to it being a week night. The remaining 25% were surprised to find that the staff started cleaning everything up. They told us becuase the person who had booked the room left they had to clean everything up 45 minutes early. In my many years of working in hotel meeting spaces I've never seen that before.
Due to the high cost per night we elected to only stay the night of the wedding. Huge mistake. Others stayed in a cheap hotel down the street. Their rooms, all through less pretty, were far better maintained and somehow had a better view than us!
My issues with the room:
They decided to put us in a room on the ground floor with a view of a sidewalk and grass. We literally had to go downstairs from the lobby. In my experience those rooms are only given to people who specifically ask for them due to their fear of heights. OR when the hotel is fully booked. I can assure you this hotel wasn't even close to fully booked, probably about 50%. So now I cant even open the curtains without someone looking into my room. Awesome.
The toilet paper holder just kept falling apart every time you touched it. It looked great, until touched. But its pointless if something looks good and doesn't work.
Toilet seat was loose on the toilet. Such an easy fix. Costs literally nothing to fix. If they cant fix something like this, what else are they ignoring.
Bathroom lights are on a motion sensor. That's cool until you get in the shower and 5 minutes in the lights turn off in the whole bathroom. So you have to stick your hand out and wave at it. Bad design.
I usually dont think much about mattresses but this bed was STIFF. 0/10.
So the next day its kinda cold out so we just want to see the pools. They look nice! Walk up to pool gate. There's an employee standing there, in front of the room key card reader. He says we need to have wrist bands to get into the pool and that we should have gotten them at check in. We werent given one. We are told the room key isn't enough to get in. So we just decide to walk around the hotel instead. Discover another gate into the pool. Room key works and we go in.
ALSO, its on the bad side of I4 from Disney. Do not stay at this hotel for Disney. You will have plenty of time to contemplate your choices while sitting in traffic.
I do not understand this hotel. Everything is so pretty on the outside but is so disappointing when...
