I’m a foodie! I’m very happy when I get to eat where I want. However, this place changed my entire mood and I could not taste the food. I walk in and no one greeted me, so I assumed it was sit where you want. So I did. I was with my African American husband and chose to sit furthest from the door. The place was not even busy. The lady very nicely asked me to move to a smaller table incase a larger party came in. We moved. Not even 20 seconds later caucasian couple came in and sat at the table I first sat at. The lady very nicely asked was it gonna be just two. They said yes and she did not ask them to move. I was pissed. So I waited for her to come over asked why she did not ask them to move as well . She was dumb founded. Preferential treatment ☑️. Then she sent her manager over but it just escalated because the manager down played what I was saying, and kept talking over me with a side of eye rolling. She said what’s the difference where I sit? By then my food comes who can eat when you been ill treated. Then when she brought the bill she immediately went to my husband and I took the tab and she said your food is not on there. I couldn’t believe how they were talking . I was simply going to pay the tab. Then she tried to ask my husband questions about the food and if he wanted to take my untouched food with him. It took everything I had to keep my composure. Look I say all of this because they clearly only cater to one particular type of person. You can definitely eat there but they won’t roll out the red carpet like they do for others. As if there money had more value. I’m so not the race card type of person but in this case it was clear and deliberate. Maybe not racist but absolutely differential treatment if you are not a certain race. The bathroom was dirty, the light switch stuck in a hole into the wall. Bar was dirty and let’s not talk about the floor under my table. I wish I had taken pictures. Go eat somewhere else. Take my word. If the bathroom is dirty imagine the kitchen? (My mother use to say) Just look at the bar and floors when you walk in. The door has to be kept open so you won’t wreak of food. Horrible, horrible experience. Will never attempt the place again. Managements attitude was just more of the same. I know some places are not always up to standard and you want to give them a shot. But, when filth, stench, poor attitude is mixed with bad service how can you even try? Sorry not sorry this dump...
Read moreI take 5 Stars very very seriously especially when it comes to Mexican Restaurants. Tacos Don Andres is excellent. Tonight was our first experience. The restaurant is fairly small and features indoor seating, bar seating and covered outdoor seating on the front sidewalk. The first test of a good Mexican restaurant is the quality of the tortilla chips and salsa. The chips are the right thickness, freshness and taste and the salsa is fresh and mostly smooth with a few chunks of tomato and onion and far from watery or soupy. It definitely stays on the chip. We ordered Elotes Off the Cob $8 as an appetizer and it was pretty perfect. Fresh and crisp corn with the right amount of other ingredients. We also ordered Queso Dip $7 which is a white queso and while I prefer a yellow Queso, this was tasty. The only negative I can say is that the Queso was more soupy than I prefer. It was served warm but not hot (which is fine) but even when it cooled to room temperature it still wasn’t thickened. Still it’s tasty. For dinner, we ordered Enchiladas Verde $10 with grilled chicken and black beans with white rice. So very flavorful, this was an excellent dish. The black beans were also very tasty. This was so good, I should have taken half home but I just wanted to eat it all. We also ordered Enchiladas De Mole $10with grilled chicken and Mexican rice. This was also very good and we loved that the rice was moist and not dried out as we’ve experienced at other restaurants. We also ordered a Classic Margarita $9 and a special Margarita topped with a red wine $10. Both of these were excellent and we really loved the one with red wine on top. Service was friendly and attentive and we will definitely return. We have waited years for a goodMexican restaurant to move into ChampionsGate and this is perfect. Ok, not perfect, it needs to be larger to accommodate the crowds that will be coming to experience...

Group of 4, got sat right away. Small dining area and small bar. Surprisingly wasn't that loud with how small it was and it was decently busy, almost full capacity. We went on a Saturday night.
Server came by to let us know she'd be with us shortly. Meanwhile she dropped off fresh chips and salsa. And she did come back within a few minutes. She took our drink order. We all got waters and alcohol. My friend asked for a 2nd dish of salsa. We never got the 2nd dish so she asked again (this was after we got our entrees). So we barely got to enjoy the chips and salsa. But it was good.
I got a mojito. It was ok but definitely lacked mint, which is my favorite part. I'd get it again but ask for extra mint. It tasted more like a subtle Margarita and it wasn't in a traditional mojito glass. My husband got a Mango Margarita on the rocks and he really enjoyed it. Our friends both got wine.
I had the VIP tacos. They were delicious! A mix of textures and flavors. The sauce the awesome! The rice was super delicious! The texture was very soft.
When the server was taking our orders it seemed like she was new and didn't know the menu well. She asked me if I wanted beef or chicken. I responded saying its a vegetarian dish. Similar issue with the other people ordering.
My husband got the birria tacos. Before I knew it, his plate was empty, so I guess he enjoyed it! He ordered no onions and was thankful they made that modification and correctly executed it.
Our friends enjoyed their meals as well. It was their second time going and they said they enjoyed it then too. We all agreed we'd return. All in all, good food but not the best I've ever had. Definitely a nice change to all these chains in the area. A nice hole in the wall...
