WOW, where should we begin. I totally understand they were busy, but......We were told 30-40 minutes, yet it turned into 65 to 70 minutes. After 55 minutes I asked where we fell in the mix and we were number 2. The next time I asked we were 3....finally was told as soon as they cleaned a table we would be next. It was almost if they would wait until 5 or 6 tables were finished before anything was cleaned. A side note on the cleaning, a table beside us was part of a big party. The young lady that was cleaning tables just rearranged coffee mugs that weren't used by the big party and barely made one swipe across the table as she sat it up to be used again. No way the entire top was wiped. If they wanted to re-use the coffee mugs no problem if you remove at the beginning of service but after the meal is finished, NO. So within about 60 seconds the server was there and asked what we wanted, we ordered the tea of the day thinking we would then have time to look over the many different things that they offered. No, she immediately said and what is the rest of your order. Yes we should have asked for a little time but the way she said we knew she meant it. I ordered first. When my friend ordered he wasn't quite ready and this young server let out a big sigh and then turned her head as if she was being inconvenienced. That was one of the last times that we saw of our server. Someone else delivered our food. Ordered my eggs over easy. They came out over hard and crunchy around the edge. The bacon was good and the potatoes took up space. About 5 minutes later, another server saw that I was looking around, this one very polite and helpful. I explained I ordered over easy and you could tell by the look on her face that she knew that she wasn't looking at over easy. Our original server brought out the new eggs, and as she handed me the plate asks "Are these any better?" And turns and walks away before I could say anything. The yolks were running for the new eggs but so was most of the whites in the center. However the edges of the eggs were still nice and crispy and most of the egg was brown from too hot of a griddle. By this time my friend who had ordered the eggs benedict, realized that his 2nd egg instead of having a nice runny yolk, was more like a hard boiled egg peeled right out of the shell. No refills on the ice tea and can't tell by the website if it was only one glass or if there were supposed to be refills. But when a relatively small glass of ice tea is $2,79, I would think refills. The glass might have held 8 oz on a good day but it was probably pushing it. I did order an extra egg with my meal. That single egg was $1.89. I grew up on a farm and we raised chickens that were free range. Let me tell you I need to get back into the chicken business. So now we see our server for only the 3rd but final time when she dropped off the check. No type of thanks for coming in, how was the meal, nothing. Here is the bill and literally just kept walking. I will say we got more attention from the other server who reordered my eggs than we did this young lady. It is very unfortunate that so many places in this area think that most of the people are tourist. Unfortunately I am not but they won't have to worry about me coming back. My friend who had been there many times and was the one to recommend it said he would not be back. Remember people you get one chance to connect with the customer and if it doesn't happen, you don't get repeats. Based on the stars there are enough people that have had good food and service here but I would prefer not to take my chances. For the bacon, the jelly and the other server, great job!! To our server, (who was probably the server with the least amount of skills in the 19 years I have been in the area), to cook who couldn't fry an egg or poach an egg correctly.....i hate to be brutally honest here but it is time to find a new calling in life because this isn't it. Good luck with the business but today was not your day and because of how poor it was, no...
Read moreMy family and I went to the champion gate location yesterday around 1:30, I know it was going on 2pm. Upon walking in we were greeted and all the staff was really nice and cheerful. The host sat us she asked if we needed a high chair for my toddler. We didn’t, she let us know our waiter will be over shortly to take our order.
I don’t remember his name, he was African American (black male) buff arms he also had dreadlocks. He approached our table asked if we ever ate there before I expressed I did but my husband hasn’t. Before ordering I mentioned, we don’t eat pork, I asked for the shrimp and grits with no sausage. I also asked about the kids meal would it be better to get a meal or just a side of eggs. He wasn’t too helpful, I said I was undecided because the meal came with pork bacon and I said again we don’t eat pork. So he didn’t suggest any thing I just said you can give me the kids meal with no bacon extra eggs he said okay. I then said you can give me the elote burrito he said okay.
My husband saw there was turkey sausage on the menu and I forgot to order the blueberry lemon cornbread so I found him, the other waiter called his name he looked up really irritated and said yes. I asked to put those things in and have the baby food come out first. Again irritated he said okay.
Fast forward to our food coming, I cut a slice of the burrito go to eat it, when I went for a second piece my husband said I think that’s pork, I said what’s pork he said inside the burrito, I said I read the menu it didn’t say pork plus the waiter knew we didn’t eat pork he said you might wanna get a second opinion, he called the waiter over and asked was in pork inside the burrito, he said it’s chorizo inside, we both looked at each other like what’s chorizo. My husband said is that pork the waiter said yes. So we look at each other I was instantly upset. Iv never consumed pork, I am a Muslim woman! Which in my religion pork is haram, not to be consumed. The waiter knew I didn’t eat pork I stated it multiple times. He had no remorse he still charged us for it knowing Everthing that happen. I was so sick, I felt weak. My stomach was in knots it was terrible. I was hoping for the waiter to let me know what’s what beings though he knows the menu more then myself. He had no remorse, no nothing he struggled his shoulders and walked off. Horrible experience. Everyone else was a pleasure! But my waiter, I think he needs a new career path, in a...
Read moreI have been going to this first watch for the past three years. It has become a part of our weekly routine we go once a week. When we have gone in person it's not too bad, however, traffic had increased, Covid is worse so we have been ordering online once per week and eat at home. Sometimes the food is great and accurate. However, it is a mixed bag of what your order will be missing and it had just been so inconsistent that I have decided to stop visiting after today and will be changing our weekly breakfast spot. This review is not based on one experience, it is based on several. I've had missing drinks several times (at $5 a pop this gets pricey). I've had missing sides multiple times, Ive had the complete wrong order a few times. I've had a literal whole scallion in my omlette . The last straw was when my significant other ordered the farmhouse hash, which was missing bread and fruit. To top it off, he pulled out a large price of black plastic out of his meal which looked like some type of hot sauce wrapper. I've complained a few times when I was really frustrated. The customer services have been very good the two times I have complained but I can't keep complaining about the service so this is my last complaint. I know it is busy but people pay a lot of money for their food and expect a certain product. When I find plastic in my food, I can't ensure that someone is taking adequate care about safety and it's like they don't care at all. I understand a one time or maybe two time mistake but I've gotta say lately it has been almost every time something is wrong. It really put me off finding plastic wrapper in my food this time. In fact we threw outr meal away after this because it was no longer enjoyable. Please for the sake of your business, take better care of the food you are sending out. Maybe have someone check the order? If the local community are anything like me, it is too busy to dine in the restaurant because of the traffic, so I imagine it is mainly a lot of locals that order to go. Anyway unless some drastic changes are made, I won't be eating here anymore which is quite a Shame because I used to love coming here I know a new breakfast place will be opening up so will be likely dining from...
