We gave Pronto Pizza another try tonight. Last time the pizza was pretty good, but it took 1 hour and 20 mins to get it after being told it would take 45. New business though, so everyone has growing pains when new.
Ordered garlic knots, a cheese pizza and a Cheese Steak pizza. 30-45 mins till it's ready. I get there in 35 and I'm in and out in less than 5 mins. Girls at the counter were VERY nice.
Get home and take a bite of the Cheese Steak Pizza only to find put it has mushrooms on it. Spit it right back out because I'm allergic to mushrooms. Re-checked the online menu to make sure it didn't have mushrooms on the ingredient list. Nope. Cheesesteak, onlion, and green peppers. (Not my mispelling of onion, theirs). Gave them a call back and was told, "Yeah that has mushrooms on it". Well your menu doesn't say that. They look online and see that we are correct. We are told they will remake the pie and it'll be done in 15 mins. Great! Since we live about 10 mins away, my wife left right away to get the new pie. About 5 mins into her trip her cell phone rings, and it's Pronto. The owner wants the original pie back. Weird and an inconvenience, but ok. She turns around and gets the other pie, minus the slice I bit and spit out.
She gets to the store and was greeted by another nice lady that apologized for the inconvenience. She gave my wife the new pizza and the owner came out to grab the old one. He opened it, looked at it, and closed it. Almost like he didn't believe us. As she left staff tells her to make sure she orders that pizza without mushrooms next time. How about no, make sure you make it with the listed ingredients or change the menu.
Also, what are you going to do with the other pizza? It's been in my car, house, and outside during a pandemic.....but whatever, we were just gonna throw it away anyway.
Wife is home now and she's eating a cold slice of the cheese pizza because it's been sitting on the stove for the last 30 or so mins.
Overall, not really worth the whole hassle. I think we'll stick with our original...
Ā Ā Ā Read more5/7/2025 UPDATE: I am so sad and disappointed that I have to write this update. What used to be our favorite pizza place is now a place we wonāt be coming to any longer. This place has gone down hill. I asked if there was a change in management or ownership and they told me no, which I find odd because the name has changed. Our table and the high chair were disgustingly dirty and sticky. (Thank goodness I had Clorox wipes in my bag)
The service was TERRIBLE. They brought us the wrong drink and despite the restaurant being empty they didnāt come by the table and avoided eye contact at all costs. My husband had to stand up and walk to the counter to ask for the correct drink. When the food came out we were in need of napkins and once again they avoided all eye contact, even when we were waving our hands in the air and saying āExcuse me!ā When we were ending the meal is when my husband had to walk up to the counter and once again ask for napkins, a box, and the check.
The most disappointing part was the pizza. The cheese used to taste so good, the sauce was delicious, the garlic on the pizza was amazing and now everything tastes like cheap ingredients. The crust isnāt even the same. I guess we are back on the hunt for another pizza placeā¦.šš”
BEST PIZZA! My husband and I are pretty picky about our pizza and are not fans of your typical corporate/franchised pizza places. We recently relocated to Davenport and have been hoping to find a go to pizza place and I'm sooooo glad we found Pronto. The pizza always tastes amazing, comes out piping hot, the ingredients taste fresh and delicious, and the service is great. Hands down best pizza place!
