This hotel was the worst experience ever. The front desk clerk made me CRY! When I went to check in and asked about giving my rewards number the clerk said and I quote her" no you don't get the rewards when the church is paying your bills". I was so upset and embarrassed, I went to the car crying. First off it is none of her business who is paying for my room and to yell it out with other people standing there then for her to be in the wrong. She was so rude to me and to talk to a customer that way I thought for sure once I told the manager in the morning it would get handled. Well to my surprise the male manager was just like her. He said she was in the right except he was sorry she talked to me in that tone. Are you serious?? You should fire her for ever saying anything about anyone paying my bills first off second off she should never say anything about a customers business with other people around. Third off she should know how the rewards work and so should the manager. I do get the points because the reservation was in my name call and speak to the rewards and learn your business. And when your customer is made to feel like a piece of trashyou should offer some way to fix it. I would never stay here again. She also told me I was not allowed to smoke anywhere on the property. And was so rude when she said it. The manager was just as bad. However the people at best western have made a case for this. I still have felt so bad the way I was treated. No one should ever be made to feel like that just because they had help from there church. You should be ashamed of yourself Barbra you are not a good employee nor should you ever make people feel less then because you think you know there situation and if it would have been because I was poor you would have made me feel more terrible then I already did! And you the manager there I think his name was Mike not sure. He was the only older male at the front desk in the morning the day I was there. He did not offer to fix anything also I was not given any of my points. Stay away from here they are just bad people all around! I am not done with this I feel like my civil rights have definitely been violated. I have found out today they were. We will be going...
Read moreFAKE REVIEWS - Want to start off by saying we’ve slept in the Amazon jungle in hammocks and felt cleaner coming out of the Amazon river than this place. I do nottttt like complaining- The staff were nice and gave us a new room when we complained about the first, however, the 2nd room wasn’t any better. Both rooms hit u like a truck in the face with cigarette must and gave my sister a cough. There were LIVE BUGS and hair in the shower. Water came out of the shower yellow at first before it cleared up. Dried PEE on the toilet. The faucet on the sink was basically just a drip faucet. Bedding smelled like the air so we probably left in the morning smelling like a trucker smoke stop. I smelled every side of every pillow to pick which ashtray would hold my face for the night. We literally prayed to the LORD to protect us from any bugs (and people for that matter) that may be hiding in the nooks and crannies. The room we originally complained about still had someone else’s charger in it and the beds were so sloppily made (bed skirts tucked under mattresses and mattress protector sticking out) that it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned yet. The fridge was stocked with the last person’s leftover crumbs. I was contemplating spending the night as a local homeless outside. Thankfully, the free French toast made from yesterday’s stale bread was waiting for us in the morning. I was tempted to stand up during breakfast and ask the room if they slept well in their Marlboro mothball box. I most likely wouldn’t have left a review if it was only the first room that was like this but no- both rooms. 138 & 133. Which tells me the whole hotel is probs like this and idk what the 5 star “clean renovated rooms” reviews are talking about. Again, the people were nice to us and accommodating but WHO IS IN CHARGE OF CLEANING because they clearly aren’t turning around after their job to see if it was well done or not before they leave to go to...
Read moreOn our annual snowbird drive to Florida we stayed one (Thursday) night at this Best Western in Fredericksburg VA. I highly recommend it.
Each year for our drive we try to find reasonably priced hotels with restaurants nearby for our stop after a long day of driving. We’ve definitely stayed in some “never again” hotels and (after years of making this trek) hadn’t found any we’d returned to, but this Best Western is a hidden gem we will happily return to next year.
The location was great, just off 95 with tons of restaurants within a 5+ minute drive (we enjoyed dinner at Park Lane). Our room (#109 w/King bed) was spacious and clean - no stains on the carpet or furniture, no signs of bugs and no odd smells so common in other hotels we’ve stayed in along Rt 95. The wall controlled heating worked great, no noisy rattling from a window unit. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Good size mini frig that actually kept things cold. Clean bathroom with plenty of hot water and while the (new looking) shower head was small, there was sufficient pressure to shampoo my thick hair. Very nice breakfast buffet with tons of fresh fruit, delicious yogurt, the usual selection of cereal and pastries and a very pleasant attendant serving eggs, bacon and french toast to order.
This is an older style motor inn (rooms open onto the parking area) but it has obviously been very well cared for. It is set back off the road, tucked behind a Dunkin Donuts. Even the parking lot was clean with a pretty brick walkway leading to the rooms. No noise issues in the evening from either the road or adjoining rooms; I did hear a very noisy muffler around 6:30am (my husband did not).
Overall a...
