I hope to whomever is reading this with doubts about this place, OR if they're looking for an extremely simple and painless experience of searching for that perfect ring- look no further. DnD has shown (hands down) the best customer service I've experienced in a very long time. Sam, the gentleman who helped me- was not only extremely friendly, but was very knowledgeable, and really looked out for me during the search for that perfect ring setting for my grandmother's diamond. He explained the many different knowledgeable factors in a diamond that I didn't know before, and his suggestions were not only honest in the sole purpose of benefiting YOU- but he displayed an unwavering amount of integrity. He was no car salesman- and really wanted to ensure I was set up for success. I was extremely nervous of handing off my grandmother's diamond at first, since it was not "serialized," but he assured me of the processes and even taught me how to search key identifying marks on the diamond so I know it's truly mine. My decision was not easy on my own with sending it out to GIA, but he helped. He really made it a point of ensuring I don't go overboard with my target budget and in doing so, really looked out with saving money. He was a man who stood by what he said/suggested, and if there was a deadline that he set, he strictly stuck by it. My ring buying experience was not only painless, but he had me covered for any nervous feelings like, "what if it's not good enough for her" - worries I had for when I present the ring to my soon to be Fiancee. I plan to return for a wedding band that properly matches the current set very soon, and I would most 100% suggest others to shop here. He gave me the best deals possible, and seriously helped me during this time so close to the holidays. I hope you're reading this, Sam! - but you have been nothing but amazing. Thank you very much, and the ring came out BEAUTIFUL. I have no doubt that the turn out wouldn't have been as great if it wasn't through Sam @ DnD Jewelers....
Read moreI became the owner of a very special $$$ ring with an unheated stone that required considerable sizing. It was very important that no heat touched the stone in order to maintain its value and because of the existing stone setting, some finesse was required. I had tried the “better“ jewelry stores in town (just because they’re old doesn’t mean they’re good!) and neither would touch it because they only offer butane heating. Old technology. I had never heard of this shop -initially, I found them because I did a Google search on “laser, jewelry, sizing, Fredericksburg“, because I didn’t want to take my ring and leave it in Richmond. As it turns out a dear friend has been using them for years, she highly recommended them, so I took a chance. I was not disappointed- and that’s an understatement! I met with Diana who was incredible in her thorough explanations of the process; she didn’t leave any questions unanswered. In fact, she explained things I hadn’t even thought to ask. I felt very comfortable leaving my ring with them for laser sizing and the GIA appraisal. They accommodated a short turnaround time and communicated with me proactively every step of the way. When I went to pick up my ring, it was cleaned even more beautifully than when I had received it, the sizing was perfect, and the professional, expert appraisal was entirely thorough. The price for services was also more than fair. This is the only shop in town as far as I’m concerned. No point going elsewhere. It’s a family business and what a wonderful family. They’re knowledgeable, considerate, genuine and professional. I couldn’t have imagined a better experience. Thank you to the...
Read moreThe store is clean and tasteful and the customer service is very pleasant. Unfortunately, I have to say that I am less than satisfied with the work I had done on my wedding set. I'm actually quite heartbroken about it. I had brought in my wedding set to have the center stone setting replaced. Before this I hadn't been able to wear my wedding set for 13 years due to the original setting breaking. It had ended up taking longer than what I was originally told, but that was no big deal to me. I really just couldn't wait to be able to wear my ring again. I'll admit, that at first glance I was beyond excited, it looked fresh and shiny! But a little different, I chocked it up to the fact that I hadn't really warn it in so long. Upon further inspection when I got home...it was clear that some things must have gone wrong during the setting change. I could see that almost the entire surface of my ring had been buffed down significantly. When looking at the stones set on the sides, you can clearly see gauges. On the center part of the band, one side is now higher than the other. Where the original wedding band had been soldered on, well there was clearly some melted gold that must've been spilled into the seam because now some of it is filled in where there once was a gap. There also appears to have been an excess of melted gold on one side of the center stone setting as well. I really wanted this to work out well. Like I said previously, very friendly staff, nice store...not so great...
