My mini one day vacay was just what I needed…. But that couldn’t have been without the wonderful staff and stay at The Tremont House Hotel! The staff in particular, the bar was a step back in time with a hop forward if that makes sense….. My bartender Hector was in a word supercalafragalisticexpaladocios! His drink knowledge and explanation was good enough to make me close my else’s and picture it with his whole hearted description! Kennedy was also divine and such a good overseer! 10 stars to you guys !
Part 2 the end has come to the mini vacation and we had a great time and it was literally mostly because of the amazing staff that I was lucky enough to encounter and enjoy on my brief but relaxing trip! So I must say I can’t believe I forgot to mention the amazing extra dirty gray goose martini that had…. Yes you guessed it BLUE CHEESE OLIVES!!! They had the one thing that make me smile instantly but I have to say that Jocelyn took it home with he shake stole and her attention to detail! Our room included breakfast, yum, and my compliments to the chef because the Eggs Benedict ….in a word ((Devine))served by a wonderful server (((can’t remember his name)))) but I should !! Fast forward to my indecision on are we leaving or are we shopping so there was Luis running for my truck with a big smile and manners the first day and Tavio sweating with a smile running the second day while Luis was at the check in desk … yup you guessed it still delivering that same patient and kind smile…… fast forward again to my checkout ….. the beautiful and soft spoken Brittani ((next to Luis)) she let me have that extra 30 I needed to get it together and resolved a small hiccup in my final bill without making me feel any anxiety or stress which was a breath of fresh air!!! I did some work in the lobby and he comes Kennedy ready to bail me out because I frantically needed some important work paperwork printed and he was Johnny on the spot! But the cake at the end has to go to Ernesto who helped me in a mini crisis(((I left my daughters new pet hermit crabs in the room 2 hours prior))) watching me freak out he literally told me not to worry and darted away and boom like a hermit crab knight and shining armor here he came with those new family members I almost lost and even put water in the cage !!! Over all I can’t wait to go back…. It was so wonderful not feeling like a number, I actually felt like I mattered and it was because of this...
Read moreJust left The Tremont House after staying 1 week. Let me start out by saying it's a great place for a 1 or 2 night stay. Anything longer than that, you'd be better off elsewhere. The location is great. Had many things I was unhappy with for the money we spent. The rooms are small and awkwardly arranged. Couldn't watch TV from the bed comfortably, due to an obstructed view by a section of wall beside the bed. Had to prop the TV wardrobe door open, with the trash can, to keep it from closing to watch. There were several nights when street noise disturbed our sleep. Be advised to stay away from rooms located in the front of the building, if you don't want that problem. The outdoor patio furniture that's used for seating in the room is not comfortable for long term sitting. After 10 minutes, the wicker arms were cutting off my circulation. They also don't offer much back support. Started getting a backache after about a half hour of sitting in the thing. When I called to report the bathroom towel warmer sprung a leak and wasn't working, I was surprisingly informed that it wasn't supposed to work at all. The poor tech that came to fix it was under the impression that they didn't function and had no idea how to fix it. Maintenance wound up wrapping towels around the wet base pipes and said they'd come back later to permanently repair. Had an electrical socket literally hanging out of the bedside wall. It was rather scary and dangerous looking. Was afraid to use it, although the clock radio was plugged into it. The AC kept cycling between blowing cold and hot air. There was no way to shut it off completely. Also, there is no microwave or refrigerator in the room so if you want to keep and reheat restaurant leftovers, that is not an option in the Deluxe King room (#352). My guess is you'll have to be in a suite to get those. There is NO laundry service or facility available at this location.
Housekeeping staff Eloisa and James were awesome, as well as the doormen, restaurant, rooftop bar and front desk personnel. If you're staying more than a night or two, please steer clear of this place. Your wallet and your back will thank you. All-in-all, it was a sub-par 4 star...
Read moreBeautiful updated rooms, perfectly fitting with the period of this lovely historical hotel. And in a soothing tasteful color palette of creams and taupe.
Firm, comfortable, lovely wing chairs with convenient plug outlet for my laptop. And at perfect height for the accompanying table (I didn’t have to use the usual pillow-boost routine to raise up the chair to the table).
High quality furniture. Firm comfortable beds. Wine fridge a classy touch. Thick plush cotton towels, so soft I had to look at the label. Where can I get these?
Impeccable original hardwood floors with lovely room-size area rug— such a great idea over usual hotels’ wall to wall carpet. Not only is a rug prettier, but it can be picked up and cleaned, (not possible with wall to wall carpet).
Thank you Tremont House for remembering the small details, even something as simple as a handheld mirror for applying makeup. I rarely find in hotel bathrooms the Exact handheld mirror I use at home. (NOT attached to the wall as in some hotels.) Much appreciated!
Just a couple of suggestions to get that 5th star… Softer toilet tissue please (a must have). Love the little milk bottle for water but the shape doesn’t trigger activation of the water filler down the hall. Adjacent to the hall water filler is housekeeping. We would suggest asking housekeeping to refrain from leaving the door open when the interior is messy/unsightly. A bud vase with a single stem flower would make a lovely but simple touch when guests are expected in the room, and/or a complimentary bottle of wine/2 glasses waiting in the room. A very impressive touch we still haven’t forgotten from our stay at the Austin Granduca! We may have overlooked it, but is there wheelchair access to the hotel? (We saw stairs at the entrance but not a ramp.) Love the tall windows and plantation shutters, but would have liked the ability to open the upper row of shutters to get more light in the room, such as an extension rod.
Looking forward to seeing these additions next time. Thanks for a...
