Excellent tour with dolphin watching. We saw several dolphins in less than 2 minutes of starting the tour. The captain was knowledgeable about the surrounding area giving lots of information about Galveston's past and today. Make sure to take this tour and not the others because it will be worth it. The tour was 45 minutes long and cost $17 for adults. There was no online reservation system or prepaid method available. We showed up in person hoping to catch the 10:15am tour but was told a group was using it so we could go on the 2:40 tour instead. We were at that time able to pay and get the tickets. We were bummed we had to come back for a later time, but it was well worth it. I was thrilled to be on the boat. There was shaded seating and open air capability on two levels to view the dolphins. We were able to take video and pictures during the ride. You are permitted to stand during the ride too. The captain will tell you if we will be increasing speed in case you want to sit down, hold onto a safety rail, or hold onto your hat. I hope to go back on this tour again soon with other family members. The captain and other crew member do accept tips at the end of the tour if you would like to contribute. My thoughts, it was cheaper than the other tour and he did a great job so I went ahead and tipped out. The gift shop is nearby which has a zero refund policy even if you have a receipt so make sure that you are happy with your merchandise before purchasing it. The water bottles, Powerade, and sodas are $2.00 there. The restroom was clean. I hope you enjoy this tour as much...
Read moreOnce a year we try to take a girl trip to Galveston with my mom, daughters, and sisters. We go on the cheap, during the week and bringing our own food, enjoying all the cheap and free stuff Galveston has to offer. My daughter recently developed an obsession with the sunken ship visible off Pelican Island, the SS Selma. In all her research, she learned of a boat that would go close to the concrete ship and finally convinced us to actually spend some money do this one-hour tour. We went and had SO MUCH FUN! With the coupon found at our hotel we got $1 off each person and it brought the already reasonable price even lower. We were all smiles, and after seeing dolphins and enjoying the rolling waves, my daughter wasn’t even too upset that we hadn’t been able to get close to the Selma that day due to weather and fishing boats being out there. That evening, we all agreed we had enjoyed the tour so much that we wanted to go again the next day. Back we went, and thoroughly enjoyed the jokes and friendliness of the crew and the close-up look at the SS Selma. This has become something we will have to plan for on every trip to Galveston. Worth every...
Read moreWe had a group of 40 people on our own boat for the harbor and dolphin siting tour. We were from Minnesota! The boats we clean and comfortable. It was a cold and windy day on our ride (2/10/2023). The captain and crew were great. Very informative with the information they gave and sites they pointed out. Unfortunately for those that sit up top on a windy day, you can't hear a word that come out of the speakers. I would suggest a new or better way for folks to hear when sitting on the upper level. I suggest that maybe the person doing the narrative stand up top rather than on bottom level. This way people could hear and ask questions. One crew person would be on each level! The speakers on lower level worked fine. We did see dolphins multiple times on this tour. The sites were fun and interesting!! I would have given more stars but 80% of our group couldn't hear a word...
