The title of this story is "Don't punch above your weight" or "You get what you pay for". When I found a four star hotel, at an affordable price, in decent proximity to Disneyland I was ecstatic! I've never stayed 4 star before! I couldn't wait to see how green the grass was on the upper middle class side of the fence. I imagined luxurious design, a breakfast fit for a king, perhaps even, not just a fridge, but a fridge with a small freezer in my room. I was sorely mistaken, and apparently I don't understand the star system at all, because this hotel is well below the standards of 3 star establishments I have stayed in in the same area of California for less money. Allow me to start with the good. The staff, while obviously too few and overworked, were professional, friendly, accommodating, and simply as good or better than one could find. Our room was quiet. I could occasionally hear doors close down the hall, but never anything disturbing. Finally, while not any credit to the hotel itself, there is an incredible Taco restaurant just across the street which is not to be missed. Now the bad. After parking behind the prison fence and searching for the one hidden entrance offered to those who could not snag the prime up front parking, we made our way to what is possibly the slowest elevator ever built. This took us to a hallway likely decorated in the 1990s by the same person who designed those multi-color seat covers found on budget charter buses, with occasional carpet stains to match. After pushing our way through the heaviest door, with the strongest, fastest auto-close mechanism I've ever encountered (no joke, if you have kids, keep them away from the doors, they could EASILY take a finger off), We found that this design scheme continues in the rooms, with extra stains. What we didn't find were outlets, a microwave, or a fridge (I can't remember the last time I stayed in a 2.5 or higher star establishment that didn't have a microwave and fridge). There is a small coffee maker, which made Clorox flavored tea and coffee. The real fun begins at night! I hope you don't have any light sleepers, or anyone who needs to get up for any reason when others are sleeping because the main light in the room is on a MOTION SENSOR that cannot be disabled! That's right, get out of bed and the main light in the room turns itself on! You can then switch it off, but in five minutes if there is any movement in the room it will turn on again, and stay on until you turn it off. What evil monster came up with this idea? There is a pool and a hot tub. The pool had a dead lizard in it, and the hot tub jets make a nice loud grinding sound, but not bubbles. Breakfast was the standard budget hotel continental breakfast, minus the usually provided waffle maker. I am unsure what qualifies a hotel to receive that fourth star, but it is a benefit which is clearly not passed on to the guests at...
Read moreWe arrived at this hotel at 1:30 a.m. after a 10-hour drive, exhausted and just hoping to get some rest. The moment we walked in before I even closed the door behind us there was a giant roach on the wall. I immediately said, “We’re not staying here.”
We went to the front desk to let them know, and the staff member casually offered us another room upstairs. It was clear this wasn’t the first time he’d heard about roaches, he didn’t seem surprised or apologetic at all. Unfortunately, it was the middle of the night, and we didn’t have many options, so we agreed to at least look at the second room.
Within 10 minutes, we came back down and told them we were absolutely not staying. The hotel is old, dirty, completely unsanitary, and nothing like the photos they post online. The surrounding area also felt unsafe—something I wasn’t aware of when booking.
I found another hotel nearby that thankfully accepted a last-minute check-in. I told the front desk I wanted a full refund and that I did not want to be charged at all. They refused and told me I would be charged for that night and also hit with a cancellation fee, despite the condition of their property being the reason I was leaving.
I asked to speak to a manager and was told there wasn’t one available. I asked for contact info and called multiple times over the next few days. Each time I was told the manager was either not in, not available, or too busy to talk. It took an entire week of back-and-forth calls just to get a refund for one night—money that I had planned to use for the rest of my trip.
This hotel is a scam. It’s filthy, misrepresented in photos, and the staff clearly don’t care about the guest experience—they just care about getting your money.
I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. If you’re considering staying here, don’t. Save yourself the stress, hassle, and...
Read moreWe got this room because of the price & how far it was from Disney. Beautiful during the check in process, but once we got to our room we noticed as we tried to shower we could not get the shower knob to turn & we realized once we got it to turn it would not fully turn off unless you seriously tightened it like a screw or else the hot water would keep running & make the restroom humid as hell! Then our window curtain wouldn’t close so we called front desk to send someone & be told us he’d be back tomorrow because he clocks off in 5 mins. He suggested to just turn our backs to the window so we wouldn’t be completely blinded by the sun lol. In the morning we got ready & headed to Disney we came back no one had restocked or cleaned up our room. It says on one paper “we do not clean or restock towels only upon request” the restroom had a little sign that said “we restock towels every day if you don’t want us to come in please let us know” super contradicting signs. We called front desk no one answered at all for hours. We went down there & saw the front desk on a phone call asking for help from another employee I’m guessing she was new to the position so we sympathized with her it’s not her fault someone isn’t here to guide her. It was now our 3rd day & no one had fixed the window curtain still. We got hungry went down stairs & the 99 cent arizonas were $3. The tubs were filthy the shower head was so crusty. I just have neverrrr been to a hotel so uncoordinated. That hotel had my head all over the place. I’d never go back...
