As a guest at the Courtyard by Marriott in Traverse City, MI, I am thrilled to write a glowing five-star review! Our experience here for our anniversary was absolutely exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Firstly, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to one of their luxurious suites with a lovely welcome letter from John Young, Assistant General Manager. The room was spacious, beautifully appointed, and offered beautiful views. It truly exceeded our expectations. To add to the celebration, the hotel provided us with two delightful splits of champagne and a box of chocolates, which was a wonderful touch and made our anniversary celebration even more special. The attention to detail was remarkable. When we first arrived to our room, we found beautiful origami swans made from towels placed on our bed. It was such a charming and thoughtful gesture. Throughout our stay, every staff member we encountered was warm, friendly, and eager to assist. They made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. Overall, our experience at the Courtyard by Marriott in Traverse City was outstanding. We cannot thank the staff enough for their hospitality and efforts in ensuring that our anniversary was truly memorable. We look forward to returning in the future and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area!

It was hard to believe we were in a Marriott hotel. At check-in, neither of the two ladies at the front desk were wearing masks. The mini fridge had stains and clearly had not been cleaned in quite some time (see pic). The shower drain was very slowly and in separate need of a recaulking (see pic). The bathroom door was very misaligned and as a result, could not fully close/lock the bathroom door. The door to the room was so misaligned that it doubled as our nightlight (see pic). For the holiday weekend, the rates were more than double than normal. We came back from the beach to find that they didn't clean the room and we had no clean towels. Their excuse was "Covid-19". Which I find weird since they didn't wear masks. Even stranger, they used the "Covid-19" excuse for keeping the fitness room and pool closed, yet we had just come from a Fairfield Inn in Gaylord that was letting a limited number of people into the pool and fitness room.

Stayed here for my brothers wedding. Hotel was quite busy, but surprisingly wasn't noisy. The front desk associates were fantastic and lovely to speak to Reni (I believe) was the sweetest out of them all. He was very accommodating and was very attentive. The lobby area had plenty of seating and tables. Outside back patio was pleasant. However, did not utilized the pool. The room was spacious and clean. This was actually the cleanest hotel I've ever stay at! Usually have complications with things not being wiped down and hair being everywhere. When I walked into my room it not only looked clean, but smelt clean, like down to the carpet cleaned! When I travel again I would love to stay here again!

I called October 22nd 2016 to the Courtyard Marriott in Traverse City to inform the guest attendant at the desk that I was going to be arriving on October 29th 2016 Reservation Late. The attendant I spoke to was a male and he told me he put it in my notes that I was going to be arriving late after midnight because I was arriving from Detroit after I was off work around 9-930 p.m. I called the day of October 29th 2016 to ask was it still in my notes that I was going to be arriving late for my check in after midnight for reservation October 29th 2016 and was told yes it was in my notes. When I arrived October 30th 2016 the desk-attendant name Linette told me that she was changing my room because my room was above the front door and she wanted me to get a good nights sleep. On October 31st 2016 when I woke up in my bed in the room for my reservation, I got an email from Courtyard Marriott Traverse City saying that my reservation was canceled per my request . I went to the front desk and I was asking what was going on with my reservation and was informed that Linette had canceled my reservation and then rebook my reservation at check in. Linette was dishonest about my reservation and she should have been up-front about what was going on I feel that because she canceled my reservation and I didn't cancel my reservation that I shouldn't have to pay for October 29th 2016 and feel that I should be credited back my 30000 point back to my rewards account. I called Marriott corporate office and inform them what was going on and I was only credited back 10000 points and I don't understand why. I have been a long-time customer and a longtime Rewards member with Marriott and I do not feel that I got my issue...

Location at this Marriott Courtyard was fine. In fact, it’s off the beaten path. Our room was smaller than other Marriott Courtyards we’ve stayed in. Our bathroom was VERY dirty. In fact, I had to ask to have it cleaned! The base of the toilet still had urine stains and the floor around the toilet had not been cleaned for some time. Dirt, hair, and dust still around the stool. Ick! We came back to our room at the end of our first full day and our room had not been cleaned, nor had the bed been made. Our in room glasses were not changed for clean ones.. When I inquired and asked to have our room cleaned, I was told they no longer clean rooms everyday, rather clean every OTHER day. We had never heard of that! We were not told this at the time I made the reservation and not when we checked in. We paid over $200 per night, and our room was not cleaned?! PLEASE! Also, at other hotels you often have the optional breakfast offered, and certainly coffee in the morning. Not here. We paid $9 for two cups of too strong awful coffee! You may ask, why didn’t we use the in room Keurig? Read reviews why not to use in room coffee pots. They aren’t kept clean. And you have no way of knowing what may have been done to that coffee machine. Use them at your own risk. Our king bed was THE MOST uncomfortable, hard mattress we’ve ever slept on. The pillows were heavy and old. The worst. I woke up with hip and back pain, and a headache from the awful pillow! Bay City Courtyard was a great experience. Traverse city? Couldn’t...

When booking I selected early check in and upon arrival (not much before 4pm which is normal check in time) I was told that they did not have a single room cleaned and to come back later. After coming back to check in again, I was told the room would not be refreshed or cleaned during the length of our stay which was a few days and that if clean towels were needed to come to the front desk. I went down to the front desk around 4:30 to ask for clean towels and was told there were none. The front desk lady asked for a room number and said she would deliver them in an hour. We waited for an hour and a half received no clean towels. We had to use our dirty towels that had been used a few times before in order to shower. Waiting on the towels made us late for dinner and if I had known she was not going to bring us any we would have showered much earlier. The air conditioner unit was the loudest I have ever heard and it was impossible to sleep with it on so during the night we were constantly turning it off to try to fall asleep for a few hours until waking up because it was so hot and having to turn it back on. The walls and floor are extremely thin and we had very loud people above us who were stomping, children running up and down the halls all night and you could hear the people beside us talking. Needless to say we did not sleep at all while staying here. I am a platinum member and have stayed at more Marriotts than I can remember and I can say that I will not be staying at this...
