I would like to start out by saying I have always loved red lobster and have been going here occasionally since I was 7 or 8 years old and I have always had pretty good food from here.
Now let me explain why I have decided to come on here and give this review.
I received a nice gift certificate and was excited to return and have a meal at the Traverse City Red Lobster again. I arrived and this time was not really greeted and just sent back to a table. Me and my family ordered drinks and our meals and up to this point it was a pretty decent experience so far however this is where everything turned for the worse. I ordered the special which was the lobster lovers plate (52 dollar meal). all 3 meals arrived in a pretty good time and it all looked pretty good until I went to eat my lobster dinner. It was almost stone cold not even warm to the touch. I was able to flag down a waitress after sitting for about 5 minutes staring at my cold plate of food while my family ate theirs. I finally got the attention of the waitress and they took my meal back and said they would prepare another one. After watching my family eat and finish their meals my second lobster meal finally arrived. The pasta was actually somewhat warm at this time but the lobster tails once again were barely warm which you would think freshly cooked seafood should be piping hot and this was far from the case. I ate what I could of the meal because I was beyond frustrated at this point and just was ready to leave. I get to the payment part and I found I was charged for both my sides that were supposed to be coming with the meal as its (choose 2 sides). The payment machine on the table had issues as well so even the payment process was a mess with my gift card. I left the restaurant and as soon as we got to the parking lot me and my family were very upset by how terrible it was this time. I never imagined a 52 dollar special from the restaurant would come out cold and for the most part tasteless but that is exactly what happened. I don't even know how to express the dissatisfaction I experienced after coming here for so many years and being happy with the meals and service I received. If I could leave less than 1 star I would but unfortunatly that is not possible. At this point in time I am not sure if I will go back or not because this was very upsetting. The prices are already high but when you mix poor quality with bad customer service it...
Read moreWe were there Christmas about 2:30pm sat straight back around the wall to the right 1st booth. The waitress, didn't catch her name, was in a hugh hurry asked if we were ready to order. We said yes, she said "I can come back if you're not ready"... I said no and ordered, then my husband ordered off lunch menu, she said "you get one side". He said oh I don't get a salad she said no one side. He said ok where are the sides. She said, "If you would just read??.... they are right here on the menu " very sarcastic. He looked before he could open his mouth to answer she said again 3rd time said. "I can come back if you need more time..we are short staffed and I need to hurry"... At this time I told her to go... we were not impressed... she wasted no time to get away from our table. She came back with drinks in a big hurry. I said "you need to finish taking his order". She said "you already ordered". I said "no you said you were in a big hurry and since we weren't fast enought for you we said you could go"... she then said "You wanted thousand island dressing? He said no I want French and a baked potato extra dressing and sour cream. She very rudely said "you want both you only get one side" he said "yes both".. Came back a few minutes later almost shoved our plates at us said she didn't want us to miss the lunch prices. The salad had thousand islands not french no extra dressing...and no baked potato. She left so fast not asking if all was ok, I said "where's the bake potato", she was already far enough or ignoring me to not respond.. very very rude.. she probably didn't want to be there being Christmas day, idk.... but that was very rude inappropriate. We were in and out within 30-40min for the whole meal so I guess being fast was her goal to get us out of there... didn't seem short staffed ......however there was a table of 4-6people near us she was very pleasant and patient with.. very noticeable.. Just not a good experience for our Christmas dinner.. 😔 Everyone else was very pleasant and nice.
I posted on the fb page it hasn't even been...
Read moreI'm actually not sure how to rate our overall experience and service. When we arrive at the Hostess stand we waited for at least ten minutes until I walked into the dinningroom to look for some one. It was approximately 2:40 and I thought maybe they don't open until 3pm. Then I saw a young lady that said,She would be right with us..she was coming from mixing a drink in the bar. I didn't see any other employees. After she sat us,I said, are you the hostess, bartender, and waitress? She replied just for now or something to that affect. Alyssa, was our hotels and server. She asked if she could get us drinks or an appetizers. We ordered soft drinks and once she came back we order coconut shrimp which, was absolutely delicious. Shortly after that our salads were brought out. The salads were also fantastic. Very fresh crisp lettuce and presented well. Then it seems to take a little longer for our meals to come out. My husband had 🍤 linguini and absolutely loved it. My food on the other hand was a bit disappointing. I had broiled Flounder, which I have had at other Red Lobsters and is delicious. This Flounder was swimming in a plate of water and on the cold side. I was able to drain most of the water into my salad bowl and pat dry it with a napkin. To say the least I wasn't really satisfied. I'm not sure where Alyssa was, but at this point I just wanted to pay our bill and leave. I'm not sure any of the services issues were due to our server considering she was...
