My goodness, how we wish there was an option for a NEGATIVE number of stars! We are currently “guests”. The lady checking us in seemed nice enough until I returned to the front desk to tell her that there were remnants from the previous guests to include bottle caps on the floor under the sink and a chunk of FECES by the handle used to flush the toilet. In addition, there was mold on the backside if the curtains. I informed her of all this and she became visibly agitated, even asking what I wanted her to do. I requested another room. She reluctantly obliged. The 2nd room was not much better. The refrigerator and microwave had been unplugged, which took us a while to realize as we kept looking for a temp adjustment inside the actual refrigerator. When I pulled the cabinet out from the wall to plug it all in, there were UNO cards and toy cars under/behind the cabinet. It’s one thing for the housekeeping to not see the debris left behind, but the way the plugs were made, in order for the appliances to be unplugged, the cabinet had to be slid out from the wall. Therefore, the debris was not left due to not knowing it was there, but due to sheer NEGLIGENCE by what seems to be inept, lazy staff. My friend said she did not see any mold behind the curtain, thankfully since she is asthmatic. When I checked the toilet, the area around the handle was smudged, which a damp cloth wiped clean. No biggie, right? WRONG!!! There was a tremendous amount of feces under the rim and inside the bowl. There was enough buildup around the waterline to indicate it had not been scrubbed, not even slightly, in DAYS! The tub’s caulking was also mildewed. We were tired and we were hungry. I told the lady at the front desk that when we returned from dinner, we would like to have the bathroom cleaned. She informed me she doesn’t clean. I told her I was requesting housekeeping do the cleaning emphasizing that I had a medical alert service dog who doesn’t understand not to sniff or “touch” certain areas like we humans do. She was miffed, but said she understood. I told her I needed to eart so I could take meds but when we returned that I’d be able to remove my service dog as I did not want anyone in the room without us present. She was very aggravated but said that’d be fine. We enjoyed a wonderful meal next door at Perkins, which we highly recommend! Upon returning, a man was at the front desk. He let me know that she’d told him we’d need the room cleaned when we returned and he said, “So I went ahead and sent our housekeeping stuff home.” He let me know in no uncertain terms he did this knowing we needed the room clean and he refused to relocate us to another room. He said he’d refund us if we checked out immediately. As tempting as that was, we’d been traveling all day, it was time for my medications, and we could not find any other vacancies. He smirked, knowing he had us in a precarious situation, using this not only to his advantage, but to harm us. This person made a conscientious choice to take advantage of two very tired, single women, one of whom he knew was disabled and therefore did not have an unlimited spending account which made moving to a different hotel easy since he’d already fully charged us both nights and we would not be credited that money for 7-10 business days “if” all goes as it’s supposed to. Simply put, not only did he not care, but he enjoyed knowing he had...
Read moreIf you decide to ignore all of the negative reviews on this site and book a room here, do yourself a favor and avoid the front desk after 9pm. The night auditor is an absolute waste of space and lacks any personality or people skills. The room card system here has a lot of issues and your room cards will reset at least once in your stay. If that happens at night, good luck with her. Fortunate for you, she never checks ID, but she does a great job of giving attitude and sass. I assume she is frustrated with the bad system, but she doesn't need to take it out on the patrons like we're interrupting her TV time and should find someone else to help. She drives a newer black Dodge which she presumptuously parks right in front of the door where everyone has to load and unload their luggage. She stays seated with her phone in hand when you walk up and only stands if absolutely necessary. The last time I had the misfortune to cross paths with her, she eventually had me escorted off the property because I had to get multiple cards reset for my room due to their busted system. Everything else you've read in other reviews is pretty spot on. The cleaning service folks stare you down and pester you in broken English every time you leave your room, to see if you're checking out. The rooms are not cleaned well and the towels are thin with insane amounts of bleach smell. All of the lighting is COLD LED lamps. You feel like you're in a hospital. The floors are no longer dirty carpet, but they have been replaced with very cheap laminate flooring which makes the rooms very loud and unwelcoming. Showers are cheap plastic surrounds with mold in all the caulk joints, shower curtain rods falling out of the drywall and the single serving shampoo (no conditioner on site) bottles are reused between guests even if they're only half full. There might be a roll of toilet paper on the holder attached to the wall, but even so you might want to bring your own. Their stuff is paper thin and might as well be sandpaper. The A/C units are straight out of the 90's and function about as well as one would expect. Their humidity control isn't the worst, but it is still a definite moisture issue. Last item to rant on. Breakfast bar. Don't waste your time. Really bad coffee and a couple stale danish on a platter with some plain white and wheat toast. There is a pancake making machine, but it is usually occupied or out of order waiting for the one staff person to refill it or fix it. On that note. The little lady that runs the front desk in the morning, also maintains the whole breakfast area and checks out all the guests. She works really hard, but needs assistance. If she had a little help, she could probably give the guests a great experience. Not her fault she is doing 2 or 3 people's jobs on...
Read moreIf this review isn't enough evidence to not come to this location then I do not know what is.
Many hotels in the savannah area were full due to college graduation and due to "no covid" as explained by some of the receptionists. We simply just needed one for the night as we were passing through on our drive to Florida. As it was already around 9pm and tired of driving we decided to take the chance in staying in the baymont hotel. While we needed room for 5, the room only held 3 (totally fine, we had air mattress in car). However after arriving, we realized what a dump this place was.
With the pics attached to this review, you can clearly see the disgusting mattress from the pull out couch. Which looks as if someone peed on it or other unknown things (in which I would never want to know). While I probably would've never cared to look if there had been a sheet on top of this mattress ( there wasnt). Also to mention while pulling out the bed that was in the couch (refered as a "pull out") many of the springs shot off the bed and were all over the floor. I tried to put them back on the bed with no luck whatsoever as it was too hard to pull.
To add to that within the pics, you can see a nasty and run down couch with all sorts of stains and blemishes. While the main king size bed was unchecked for residue or stains, we can be quite certain there probably was.
I also noticed that the coffee machine was located in the bathroom?? While this isn't anything major, just felt that it was weird how it wasn't near any of the other things (such as cups).
Also, another weird thing within the room was the fact that the nightstands were sideways not against the same wall in which the head of bed touched. Quite strange, but nevertheless still accessible.
Also, the area in which the shower head resides appears to be a terrible installation job, as there were a giant hole in which u could see into, quite tacky.
The actual only thing I liked about this establishment was the fact that the people near and above were not in fact loud and annoying people. Everyone staying in hotels has probably experienced this issue of a "loud neighbor" in which they keep you up or create a restless sleeping environment for you to sleep in.
For the price of this place, I would expect to be to one, be treated a little bit better by the staff (long wait/attitude) and two, definitely expect to feel safer and comfortable with sleeping within my own room. So for those within the area, find a better place to stay then that of this Baymont. While I've usually had decent luck with Baymonts it appears that this is just one of those...
