Our group of 49 stayed here for several days at the end of June 2019. The check in process seemed to work well and most of the staff were great. There were a couple that did not impress us but I think you have that anywhere. My room was comfortable and clean each day. It had a microwave and small refrigerator but no safe for valuables. The work out room had just what was needed however the treadmill had a plug that was not for our electrical systems here in the US. Not sure how that happened but they could not plug it in and had no adapter for it during the entire time I was there. Breakfast was good and the staff that tended it were great with the exception of our last day. That lady was a little grumpy. Overall it was a good stay, although we had a couple rooms that reported things (food) items missing after returning back to the hotel. Not sure if they have one or two bad apples cleansing the room but hopefully that is addressed. I would stay here again, but wouldn’t leave any valuables in the room as there’s no safe.

Not super convenient to historic downtown or river street. Exterior of the hotel looks dated and worn. The room felt dated as well. It smelled of mildew initially but that cleared up once we got the AC going. The in-room AC worked so well! Definitely added a star to the review. It kept the room cold and comfortable. The exterior facing window had a large crack in it and being on the first floor made that feel somewhat worse. The security lock on the door was almost ripped from the wall, it was hanging on by two loose bolts with two additional bolts having been ripped out. The door handle on the door separating the rooms was loose and did not feel secure. There was a used towel in the shower, that someone had seemed to have used to shower with and then left to air dry. Final note is the carpet felt….bad. I made my feet feel dirty and was also kinda of stiff/crunchy. It felt like it left a residue on my feet. However, the staff were wonderful and polite.

I’ve been staying here for 3 months unfortunately while waiting on my apartment to be ready and this has literally been the worst experience ever ESPECIALLY since they got a new named Terry. I was put in a handicapped room when I first got here and bugs were on the bed and the entire ceiling in the shower was leaking water and caving in to the point I was afraid to shower. We were moved and ever since moving rooms , me and my 5 year old just happened to develop “ allergies “ RIGGGHHHHTTT. There is mold in this hotel, I had to get a carpet Shampooer and clean my own carpets multiple times dumping black water. Then one day I come in and me and my child are locked out of our room and told we can’t stay here anymore with no reason given. So I called the cops and they explained to this idiot he had to legally evict me so here we are now about to be on the streets . This whole encounter with this hotel has been a nightmare!!!!!!!oh and they pop sheets!

The people at the desk were very unprofessional. We called to reserve a room with a family rate we had set at $120. They agreed over the phone that was the correct price for the group rate, but when we got there this man at the desk was trying to make us pay $210. I said absolutely not and we 100% got the $120. Unfortunately they scammed some of my family members and made them pay the $210, and we even showed them to $120 price quote on THEIR website that we were able to get. They just kept saying they didn’t know what to do. When asked for the cost breakdown for why it was so expensive for them the man at the front said “the math is mathing”. Extremely unprofessional and no one knows what’s going on. Also, while trying to reserve the room over the phone I had multiple family members get an okay for them to hold the room and they could pay on arrival. I called and they were trying to push me to give my credit card information over the phone which rubbed me the wrong way completely. I disagreed and finally he could suddenly “bypass” the system and didn’t need my card information once he saw I was not budging with it. If you could hold the room from the beginning why would you need my card information? Which leads me to my next complaint. One of my family members left her wallet in her room, and we 100% know it was there because that’s where she slept obviously and she put her belongings down in the room. She called the hotel to alert them AFTER she checked out that she left her wallet, and they said they didn’t have it. She had turned in room card already so she’d need them to unlock it anyway. Suddenly there’s an alert from her credit card company someone tried to use her card a few minutes after the call? Absolutely insane and baffling. Luckily all cards are locked and they had ZERO access to anything. We know they went and looked after she called, and the workers were unprofessional and scammy from the beginning so it didn’t surprise me. Also, the AC in our room had a funny smell. Finally the last complaint was the breakfast. It was absolutely disgusting. The pancake mix was sour and likely expired? The orange juice tasted like WATER. Like it was the color but watered down it was so nasty. Half of the breakfast was cold too. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. You’re better off staying somewhere else and canceling while you can. Beware of the unprofessional workers, terrible breakfast, scammy behavior, and mediocre rooms that haven’t been redecorated since 2010 most likely, and the chair in ours was STAINED with some weird crust?? Like just save your time completely they’re an...

I called the hotel on May 8, 2025, at 7:56 PM and spoke with a young African-American male employee. I was attempting to reserve a room as part of a group, since my family would be in town for a funeral. I offered to pay during the call, but the gentleman assured me that payment was not required at that time. He stated that, because I was booking under a group rate, my reservation was essentially guaranteed, and I could pay upon arrival. He took my name and email address to complete the reservation and confirmed I would receive the group rate of $120.||However, I was not given a confirmation number, nor did I receive any follow-up email.||When I arrived at the hotel to check in on May 10, 2025, after the funeral, I was informed there was no reservation under my name. While still processing grief, I now had to deal with the added stress of not having a hotel room. After speaking with an employee named Prince (to the best of my recollection), he contacted the manager and was eventually able to secure a room for me. Prince also reassured me that I would still receive the group rate of $120.||Unfortunately, that turned out not to be the case.||While the room was generally fine—though it had a broken window—the bed was comfortable. However, when I reviewed my bill the next day, I discovered I had been charged $159 for the room. I spoke to Prince again, and there was more confusion and backtracking. He called the manager once more, but I was ultimately denied the group rate.||Adding to my frustration, my niece spoke with Prince about her room rate, and he responded by saying, "the math is mathing." This response was unprofessional and dismissive. Despite this, she was granted the $120 group rate while I was not.||This stay, during an already difficult time for my family, was far from the restful and supportive experience I had hoped for. I plan to visit the area again soon, but unfortunately, I will not be considering this hotel for...

When I booked this reservation, the website listed an outdoor pool and laundry facilities among the amenities. However, upon arrival, I found that the only pool available was indoors. I was initially informed by one front desk attendant that the hotel did not offer laundry services. On the last day of my three-night stay, another staff member mentioned there was a washer on the third floor, but it was out of order. This suggests the hotel has ongoing maintenance issues.

In another review, I had read that the side door entry was broken. Unfortunately, months later, this was still the case. Guests were directed to use the front entrance due to the side key entry system being nonfunctional. I was told this was because of ongoing renovations, but no timeline for resolution was provided.

Housekeeping service was another concern. During my entire stay, no housekeeping was performed. I had to visit the front desk to request fresh towels and toilet paper. I was informed the hotel was sold out and only had three housekeepers available. It's disappointing that no contingency—such as overtime hours or management assistance—was in place to ensure guest needs were met.

Additional issues included a non-working bathroom mirror light, a visibly dirty carpet, and poor shower drainage that left water pooling on the bathroom floor. Breakfast was as expected for this type of hotel, though I only saw staff present in the dining area on the first morning.

Overall, I'm puzzled how this property maintains a three-star rating. The only redeeming aspects of my stay were the friendliness of the gentleman working late Friday night and the helpful young woman at the front desk on Monday. Unfortunately, it seems the rest of the staff rely heavily on excuses, and the hotel management appears disengaged from the upkeep and staffing challenges of the property. This experience does not reflect the standard I’ve come to expect from a...
