The room was adequate for the price. We paid 60 a night on hopper, BUT I think I did pay 130 for showing up a day that was not included on hopper, which I don't think it was worth that much. It is a dilapidated motel, but it did allow pets. So, in order to make an educated decision on this place... here is the situation. I evacuated here from Florida for Hurricane Milton Oct 7th until the 10th. My husband booked the room through hopper, in his name (why he didn't put it in my name ... head trauma... and a lot of it. He forgets things) Anyway, also, He wasn't with us, which caused another problem, because it was in his name and he wasn't present. So, i know there are obstacles but I traveled 5 hours with my child and animals, stressed out after working a full 8 hours, worried that I wont have a home TO GO BACK to, and left my husband there because his stupid job "needed him to work". To say I may not have been in the right mindset to kiss some grumpy, power hungry lady's butt to get a room that was reserved for us when I HAD money to pay for it and obviously I knew all the details is an understatement. I walked into the vestibule after midnight to check in, which smelled like urine. There were three other people waiting to check in. She was rude to ALL of them. She was NOT warm and friendly and absolutely did the bare minimum of what her job required. I gave her my ID and my husband's card. She told me she couldn't take it. I told her, "Please... you have to." She said I don't have to do anything. So, I transferred money from my husband's card to mine, so she had matching identification and payment. And she said, "You know I CAN refuse people for being rude and said that if I wanted a favor, I'd have to be nice. I didn't think I was rude... but maybe I was to her because she was being cold and callous. Matching energies, unfortunately, sometimes i do that as default, but once I rationalize in my head that the person im dealing with is not happy and thats why they cant be nice, I can come back to being civil. She did finally take my card and did NOT leave me stranded, but definitely did not do so without causing enough stress to raise my blood pressure, almost put me in tears, and cause more harm than good. She should ABSOLUTELY NOT be dealing with people who are stressed out travelers. Because people who are stressed from travel need warm and empathetic people who are willing to help them in their time of need. She was NOT empathetic. She was cold and callous. She is probably broken and not happy in her own life, but that doesn't mean she needs to spill that over on to other people. The rest of the staff were lovely. You have one bad apple. But one bad apple could ruin the batch! The breakfast was adequate. The beds were comfy. It was adequate for what we needed it for.... but I would definitely avoid staying here again so as not to have to deal with that one cold, callous lady. Thank you!

We called in advance and spoke to three separate people who assured us we could pay one day at a time, despite the policy of paying for the entire stay in advance. The people when we checked in assured us the owner was very kind and probably would permit this. They said we could pay in the morning before 11, as it was already nearly 5am by the time we arrived. The next morning around 10:45, the two men said I could come back and pay later, since we had a question about our bill. I asked when I needed to return, and he kept saying just "later." We ran errands we needed to take care of, came back, and found ourselves locked out of our accessible rooms and our dogs locked in. We spoke to the manager in the afternoon to report to the manager an incident in which an employee let one of us into the other's room without verifying we belonged there. It could have been anyone. He decided since we were "causing trouble" that he "could not accommodate us" and refused our other nights booked. I said he could, but would not. It took 30 minutes to get keys to retrieve our animals and our belongings. He claimed it was because we did not return soon enough, in 30 minutes or by 1pm, to pay in the morning. I stated, several times, that we had asked what time we needed to be back to pay, and he had only responded "later". I said he was effectively kicking out senior women, one with a disability. He said there are plenty of rooms in other hotels. I pointed out he did not know that there were "plenty of rooms", and of course, not every hotel accepts animals. We have reported him to corporate, but will never return to THIS one, despite comfortable rooms and otherwise friendly employees. He even called the police, because we called corporate and did not pack and go quickly enough!

Just walking in the room looks nice and clean. Upon further inspection it's not. The bathroom was not clean the toilet had stains on it. I ended up going to buy cleaning supplies bc I didn't feel comfortable using the restroom. When checking the bed, the comforter was full of stains as well. The beds are so small, it's like 2 twins. Doesn't work well for a husband and wife. My kid had her own bed, lucky her. Her comfort was dirty so we took it off. I always Lysol the bed so at least the rest was clean. Later that evening, once the lights was off. You guessed it, roaches. In the restroom and counter tops. Positive note the staff is nice. The hotel is quiet and in a good location to food and a Walmart. The fridge and microwave were clean. AC gets really cold.

The hotel was disgusting!! We where driving back up to NC and decided we would stop and rest and leave in the morning after breakfast. We couldn't give our kids a bath or shower because the amount and stained on dirt and lime rust of the shower head and in the tub.

The wall outlets where fully fitted to the wall properly so they where unsafe to use thankfully I had portable charges will life still.

The "closet" if you want to call it that was held on by two very loose screws and it was really just a hole in the wall with some half made shelves.

There was a rusted safe in the room for our valuables to be put in and it was a key lock with no key.

The beds where so bad that the springs poked at us as we laid on them.

And finally as I am unloading our vehicle to bring stuff up to the room some car drove super slow through the parking lot looking at ever single vehicle and when they saw me open my trunk they sped up and stopped like they where seeing what was inside. So I didn't sleep all night and the only reason we didn't pack back up and leave Ave is cus the room was already paid for because it was required to pay before we could officially book the room and my kids and wife where completely exhausted and needed sleep.

At 4am we checked out and they had put up some protective screening at the desk with a little slot to drop the room keys off. If we knew how bad it was to begin with we never would have booked to stay for 1 night. We have stayed at other quality inns and had a great experience, but this location is by far the worst! I'd give negative...
