From the moment you walk inside, you know you're in for a ride. Everywhere besides the floor and tables, signatures and messages sprawl the entirety of the restaurant. You won't find profanity or lewdness, however; these inscriptions are timestamps of satisfied customers professing their love for this tucked-away taquería. The menu is simple and small, with one side devoted to food and the other for beverages and desserts, but don't be stopped by the lack of variety. What you miss in selection, you receive almost quadruple in savoring; it's as if the scale of the menu allows for the flavor to be magnified. If you select Flaco Style for your order, then you get a blast of Latin spice that brings the heat without spoiling the treat. They don't miss a beat anywhere as they even provide authentic Mexican/Texano music on TV for ambience. Some of the songs even have lyrics, and the crew encourages the brave to sing along to their favorites (they even have the grace and patience to listen to non-fluent Spanglish and murdered español, with compliments and encouragement shouted out to inspire the singer to at least make it to the chorus). It's located in front of Savannah Harley-Davidson, which will also increase your joy as powerful motorcycles rumble and roar in the background and tease you to walk on over and encounter another especially welcoming customer service experience; but that's another review for another time. On your way out, be sure to ask for a Sharpie to leave your name and promise to return on it's already heavily decorated walls, and don't forget to snag a large horchata for the ride home. As you sip it to cool the Flaco Style spice, you'll ensure that your flavor trip will last for as long as you can hold out on draining your cup. Go take a ride to Flaco's Tacos and start your flavor...
Read moreThey CAN be very good, but they are falling down a lot lately. We've ordered online multiple times in the last month and every time things are left off the order. This time we caught it. They left off chips, queso, and an entire meal. This wouldn't be so bad if the person working the counter didn't get annoyed that we caught the problem and asked for our missing items before we left the restaurant. Now, their annoyance may have been at their co-workers, but it was expressed at us. Why would you, under any circumstances, lash out at your customers for your own mistake. Even if a customer makes a mistake you should never treat them as anything but valued customers (as long as they are not abusive). Flacos food is, on the whole, amazing. It's always fresh, colorful, and full of flavor. I highly recommend the salsa verde with EVERYTHING! My wife loves adding chorizo and getting a Jamaica every time she's there. It's one thing to mess up an order because your customer can't seem to make up their mind or have a language barrier, but you shouldn't have any issue understanding an order from an ordering system where you're not having to talk to anyone. On top of it all we prepay tips cause we like for restaurants and their staff to know we appreciate their hard work at this time. I pray things improve as I would love to see this...
Read moreAfter reading favorable reviews and its close proximity to our hotel it seemed a safe choice. Here's what happened. We walked into a line of three. After two minutes with no movement or attendance we saw a counter online pickup sign suggesting these orders are fast alternatives to ordering in person at the counter. We walked out to the car and ordered a 4 Taco & Drink special for $10.95 and a Burrito Bowl. We received an automated attendant email with a time estimate window. We came in at the middle point and they still had others waiting but now they resorted to sitting. After waiting twice as long they announced our order. I immediately noticed no drink. This caused a debate among employees but over what, I couldn't tell. They politely handed me a canned Coke and we left. We had been there 45 minutes. We got back to our hotel and my tacos had missing items. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't flavorful. Certainly not enough to overcome the wasted time and lack of on point effort. I don't write this with anger or some need to get accountability etc. I wanted to dismiss the experience due to being understaffed or something. But I had witnessed three employees at the counter working throughout the time we were there. It's just one experience. Maybe...
