BEWARE!!! If you enjoy traveling all day, only to show up to your hotel room to find mold on the walls and lamp shades and visible signs a roof leak, damp sheets from the humidity in the air due to a lack of runing a/c, and a smell that can only be described as old, then this hotel is for you! We had to request to be switched from our room not one time, but twice! Obviously, we weren’t expecting luxury, but what we were expecting was a clean room where we could sleep knowing we were not going to get sick from the copious amounts of mold present. The first two rooms we entered were dirty in a way that appeared that housekeeping simply went in and made the bed. Rusted microwave, aluminum foil stuck in the ice in the back of the mini fridge, bubbled wallpaper from the moisture in the air, hair in the bathtub, ….i could go on and on, but i would recommend you just look at the photos and see for yourself. Please do not bring your family or kids here thinking it will be clean. 3 rooms, and none of them were truly clean, but we had to settle given the time of night and lack of availability in other hotels since it was a holiday weekend. The only positive to this stay was the young lady at the front desk (I didn’t catch her name) who went out of her way above and beyond to try to accommodate us to the best of her ability. I can only hope that management will extend my sincere gratitude towards her for her amazing customer service and willingness to help, but as for the manager and housekeeping, I believe you all have some serious work to do before you make your guests extremely sick.

Stayed here by accident due to last minute travel to Savannah around July 4th... got a sinus infection after staying due to the humidity constantly in the hotel. You have to blast the air to cut the humidity and sleep bundled up because of blasting the air. They shampooed the carpet on my floor during my stay, probably to mask the moldy fragrance...12 hrs later the carpet was still sopping wet and starting to smell. You would take a shower and although there's a built in "fan system" it seemed to be just a noise maker because it didn't not prevent streaming up the area and you could see the wallpaper bubbling. This place should be demolished because they're going to make a lot of ppl sick!! Oh and they're VERY pet friendly... and not in a good way. I was working online in the breakfast area which is open to the front desk... they allowed a customer to come and "mess around" with the layout for 5-7 minutes... with her dog. I love animals but don't play animals with my food!! I felt this was TOTALLY DISGUSTING and DISRESPECTFUL to everyone else!!.. if I hadn't already had my coffee and waffles, I DEFINITELY wouldn't want them after seeing that!!

We frequently travel the 95 route and after trying out several other dog friendly hotels we chose this one. It’s our maybe 4th stay and the first with any concerns. Our room 203 spelled like either mildew or pee. The bathroom fan is very noisy. But really other than that the front desk staff have always been friendly. Place is clean and well maintained. Limited breakfast. Bread for toast. Biscuits and gravy. No meat or eggs. Pancake making machine. Cold cereal. Tiny muffins. They have Beer and wine in cans for sake at desk. Vending machines have good selection plus other snacks on open shelves. It is very close to Houlihans which is our usual dinner place. Parking is ample. Lots of areas for dog to walk. Update June 2023 We are on our annual trek back to CT from FL. We arrive at the Clarion hotel in Savannah where we have stayed the last 4 years. Trying to check in they tell me they recently stopped being pet friendly. Thanks for not notifying us. Luckily we got a room at La Quinta. It’s a wonder how some of these places stays in business.

When we were checking in, my mother and I received the most rudest and unprofessional exchanges by one of the Clarion Point Hotels on Gateway I-95 (GAB69) 17001 Abercorn St., Savannah, GA 31419. We drove several hours to get to Savannah and the last thing a guest staying at your hotel needs is to be confronted with unwelcoming and unfriendly demeanor by the staff member checking them in.

It cost almost $500 dollars total to stay three nights at this hotel and because the front desk staff member was so rude and confrontational towards us we looked for another hotel to stay at even if the cost was going to be more but do to the holiday weekend there were no other vacancies on such a very short notice.

In all my years of staying at different hotels,  I have never not once experiencd such despicable behavior from guest services. When we arrived, my mother was the first person to speak with the staff member checking her and my father in and this woman was very rude with my mother when my mother asked for clarity on when the hotel balance is paid being we were being told the entire balance was paid at the time of check in. I also commented after my mother in agreement to not being aware of paying the hotel balance up front and not until after the end of the hotel stay.  I advised that I was going to be paying half of my parent’s room bill and asked if I could get a copy of the receipt while handing the staff member my card.  She then very rudely said in a raised voice “not until she got her (referring to my mother) payment too”.

My mother handed the staff member her card to swipe and while we were waiting, my mother and I were talking with each other about the changes in how we pay that we were not accustomed to and that’s when hotel staff member inserted herself into my mother and my conversation making rude comments.  I responded by telling the staff members she was being very rude and I did not appreciate her attitude and if she didn’t like her job then maybe she should find another one because being rude to customer’s is not professional, she then said I was the one being rude and I told her my attitude and energy was matching hers then she said her attitude was matching mine.  I then told her that I was going to walk away from her being I didn’t want her negative spirit or energy around me.  As I was walking away, the hotel staff member started yelling something at me but I had tuned her out the moment I walked away so not sure what she was saying but I did tell her that I was going to give her a bad review and she told me she didn’t care and to give her a bad review.

Because I walked away, my mother was following me and that’s when the hotel staff member yelled out “While ya’ll too busy trotting off, you forgetting to get your room key”, so my mother returned to the desk to get their key.  I was pretty upset at this point being I did not appreciate this behavior toward me but especially towards my mother.

No guest at this hotel should be treated in that manner and has put a bad taste in our mouths from ever wanting to stay at this particular hotel when we visit Savannah again.  I can only imagine how this particular staff member treats other guest. Based on our experience with this hotel who they have this staff member as a representative for them, I would not stay there again or recommend anyone else to stay there. Who wants to spend almost $500 or more to be disrespected and greeted with rude behavior by the hotel staff members in addition to arguing with the staff member checking...

They most definitely wanted us to get the heck out of dodge. The TV randomly turned on at 5:30 AM. Then the smoke alarm began chirping for a new battery at 6:30 AM. We called the front desk and asked for someone to come fix it. NO ONE EVER SHOWED UP. I didn't call again because I was afraid they would get mad and then not come fix it just to punish us for bothering them. When we mentioned this to Maiala or Mayala (she didn't have a name tag and also wasn't wearing a mask when the sign on the door said a mask was required) at the front desk she showed absolutely no sympathy and immediately became accusing and extremely robotic. She claimed the hotel isn't staffed with maintenance 24/7 and that the only option would have been moving our room...at 6:30 AM. When I asked her why the man on the phone when we called didn't tell us that right away, she just repeated that there wasn't any maintenance available. When I mentioned that it's a safety issue, she ignored my statement and repeated that there was no maintenance. There is only one elevator. That elevator smelled strongly of marijuana. We were next to the stairs (at the opposite end of the building from the single elevator) and there were apparently people hanging out in the stairway chatting at midnight. You get what you pay for, for sure, and I'm done with the low class Choice Hotel chains. I'll budget for better hotels from now on because we're never staying in any of the Choice hotels ever again. Edited to add that this one-star hotel put a $100 hold on my card for incidentals, lol. Nothing in that room or hotel would be worth more than $20. Just stay somewhere else where a $100 hold...
