DO NOT STAY HERE. Do not believe the pictures. For the price you're probably better off looking for an Airbnb.
This was a last minute trip I decided to bring my daughter on at the latter end of Spring Break. We live in Atlanta so I felt that the 3 and half hour drive to Savannah would give us an opportunity to simply get away. The booking was made at the last minute as the room I booked online was far from okay to stay at with no water in the pool so I called Country Inn as a second option. I simply wanted the kids to be able to go swimming.
Our stay was okay. We got here early with hopes of getting an early check in on a Thursday morning. However, we were advised nothing was available at the time. We waited in the lobby until about 2:50. This wasn't the worst part of the experience as I was well aware that checkin isn't until 3 pm. Nevertheless, accommodations are usually made for some early checkins a most places.
The room was underwhelming as well as the hall ways and elevator. The nicest part of the hotel was the lobby area. It appears they'd attempted to remodel the rooms however left out major changes that need to be made.
There is a reason they do not show the bathtub. While the sink clogged every time the water was turned on, the bathtub appears to be from the 80s, maybe even the 70s as there was a very noticeable black ring around the tub and it was clearly not replaced in the remodel.
The bed slept okay, but only had a very thin comforter on it. It made noise through the night due to tossing and turning and eventually felt like a cheap thin mattress.
Overall the room was very not worth the price. Cheap lightweight doors, cheap furniture, and what appeared to be one of the first models of a flat screen tv.
Staff was okay and parking decent.
My biggest regret was listening to some of the reviews left here. I guess I gathered that for the price it was decent. I believe that to be untrue, you may as well stay at one of the many hotels surrounding it.
As I mentioned before I paid for this reservation over the phone when calling. The gentleman that I spoke with advised that with taxes and fees the total would come out to $202 a night. So, when I received the receipt pushed under the door at 6 am the day we checked out, I was beyond surprised to see that the price for Friday night was $271. While I was given a total for our stay I felt deceived that I had not been made aware of the cost per night. I had asked both the guy I spoke with and the older lady at the front desk what I was paying for for each nigh, with both giving me the hotel lingo, stating, "$143 a night as the average rate." It felt as if they were not completely honest about pricing and took advantage of me needing to find another place to stay. Upon speaking with someone at the front desk, the morning of checkout, Melanie was her name, she attempted to "clarify" the misunderstanding by arguing with me and raising her voice. I didn't expect any sort of refund, but simply suggest that you look for somewhere else to stay. NOT...
Read moreThe rooms were nothing to write home about and the bathrooms were sub par the water wasn’t very hot the sink didn’t drain there was next to no water pressure and the breakfast was very average and the pool was just alright the hot tub wasn’t hot either. The check in lady seemed pleasant but the reason this hotel gets 1 star is the HORRIBLE beds. We are on a leisure trip and we just wanted to get some shut eye for 1 night so we could enjoy our trip. These beds were so bad. They are situated on top of large hollow metal boxes. They pop loudly every time you move and wake everyone up. They groan and pop in and out loudly. Nobody got much sleep. When we first came in and sat down we said what was that? We looked out the window for a construction crew. We said maybe it’s coming from the floor above us. We sat back on the bed and figured out that the bed was popping. We went to sleep and when I moved the bed popped and popped all night until I had to leave my room and go sit in my vehicle to get some rest and so my kids could try to get some rest. This ruined our day we are all loading up on coffee and energy drinks trying to stay aware and awake and enjoy the day. I can deal with average accommodations as long as I can sleep but this was just the worst place I’ve ever stayed ever and it was over 120 bucks for 1 night. They said they put me in this room because I had kids and when they did it I didn’t understand why but after I heard the bed popping I understood why if a single couple was in this room the entire hotel would rattle. A sheet of tin popping in and out constantly. They need to close this place down and fix it before doing paying guests that way. I also witnessed someone get out of the pool and fall down because they have the wrong kind of flooring outside of the pool area they need floors that aren’t slick in that area someone is going to get hurt. Also we wouldn’t sit in our chair because it looks like someone had a great time on it. Letting guests sleep in these conditions is neglectful. We should receive a refund for this stay it’s the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel ever. Too bad I can’t add a video of the sounds of these beds. I encourage someone with any seniority in management at this hotel to come sleep in these rooms and see for themselves what they expect their guests to deal with. We were in room 211 both beds were really bad but the one closest to the door was significantly worst than the other bed. Travels beware...
Read moreThe ONLY thing this hotel has going for it is the wonderful Ms. Kesha. Other than that, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! My husband and I checked in late after an issue with our first hotel. We had high hopes because another hotel referred us here personally because his hotel was booked and he understood we drove several hours from Florida for my birthday, and Ms. Kesha was wonderful at accommodating us. Upon entering our room, everything “seemed” okay. Entering the bathroom, we noticed the back of the bathroom door was molded and peeling. The shower was hot as hades but the pressure was strong enough to be classified as hurricane strength winds. The pressure was so hard, I couldn’t stand in it, the shower couldn’t contain the pressure, hence water spewing out and why the door is peeling like an onion. Exit the room and look up you will notice peeled paint, holes in the walls, and an overall “damp” smell. My husband and myself went to bed and woke up congested and swollen in the face. When we left the room for a few hours we started to feel better and went about our day. We returned to nap and freshen up and upon waking from our nap, the same thing. Upon looking around the AC unit, there is mold and mildew everywhere around the unit, the floor, and the frame. No wonder we were sick considering what we were breathing while sleeping. Upon checking out, we asked to speak with a manager. We were advised one was not in and we would receive a call back to discuss our concerns. Two days later, still no call. I call back and ask for a a manager. I am advised one is not present and they are unsure of when one will be in; if at all. I attempt to call corporate, to find out that this hotel is not affiliated with the corporation but is privately owned by investors with the help of Choice hotels. The representative advises me that she put in a request for the manager to reach out to me and all she can offer (since they are independently owned) is points for my inconvenience; no refund. I advise the lady I was uninterested in points as they do not equate the same when booking as a dollar amount and I genuinely have no interest in staying with another Choice hotel. Here we are, 8 days out from my check out and still not a single word from management on my booking. DO NOT STAY HERE unless you enjoy wasting your money and getting sick 😷
Ms. Kesha, you were WONDERFUL and the ONLY reason I gave 3 stars...
