So incredibly disappointed. The entry of the hotel is beautiful, leaving you a false sense of cleanliness and care. There are definitely some cut corners, and things that should be standard for a hotel. Bathrooms should be mold free, no stains on carpet, dust free. Our room was not that.
When you enter the lobby, it seems like a pretty nice, clean hotel. You notice a gorgeous chandelier
As we were checking in, the young lady at the front desk, was great. She was very kind and personable. Also, during other interactions, she was more than helpful and had a great personality. But, unfortunately, that fact does not outweigh the negatives, and for that, we won't be back.
When you first enter your room, there is this absurd foyer, not sure why it's so large, as it renders the sitting area into smaller footage, than it could have. This is just me being nitpicky, but the safety map on the door was crooked, along with many of the pictures in the room. Those little details drive my OCD nuts, but I certainly don't take off for those, just wanted to point out nonetheless. The rooms themselves were nice...but in our room, there is a giant red stain on the carpet. I didn't notice until we came back, after a full day/night downtown.
Moving on to the bathroom. The sink is nice, but the shower was disgusting. I'm truly disheartened how this wasn't fixed, or why they would knowingly rent a room to guest in such conditions. It's mold, and unexcusable.
One additional negative, was that the hall reeked of VERY strong spices. The kind that permeate and never dissipate. It was really overwhelming and surprising, as these rooms are just mini suites with fridge and microwave. Also, I understand with Covid19 that some things will be modified and different, but remove the advertisement from the web, for hot breakfast and waffles. The only hot breakfast, is coffee, and it's self made, not in a large carafe. There weren't any boxes of cereal or prepackaged anything. They still advertise on their illuminated sign, so that should be removed.
The marketplace which is supposed to be where you buy your extras, is pretty limited. A few different types of snacks (maybe 5) including, ramen noodle cups, combos, and 2 candies. They also have a few drinks, maybe 5 different options, including Starbucks frap, cranberry drink, cans of Diet Coke, Water, and Sprite. (If you stay here, bring items you need).
Overall, if they can fix the tub/showers, then it wouldn't be so bad, but with Covid19, it makes you wonder what's really being done.
Update: The vent in the bathroom is pretty awful and rusted out. We also noticed the microwave blinking 23 seconds...maybe Michael Jordan or Lebron James are their favorite, and this pays tribute to that. I'm going to assume, that the microwave was not touched or cleaned since the last guest, which only deepens my ewwww factor and disgust. We also tried going to the pool, and ended up rescuing 2 more frogs, that's 3 since yesterday. One was HUGE and I can't imagine how long it must have been stuck in the pool room. The pool room is very dirty too. Grimy seats, handles, chipped tables. Pretty sure I can find cleaner lawn chairs, and bent metal at Bubba's Scrap Yard. The metal has eroded from the concrete, which looks like it could be from the original settlers from Savannah. I joke, only because this trip has been literally the worst ever, and I simply cannot believe how these things have been allowed to be ignored, without fixing for guests.
Additional Update: They refused to refund or provide credits. Shameful. Customers with documented proof, should be restored whole. They just simply do not care and are okay with one and done. Avoid this hotel at...
Read moreAfter researching reviews I booked this hotel for 2 nights to visit Savannah. When we checked in on Saturday, November 14th it was late afternoon/early evening. They assigned a room that was located right next to the lobby. We went in and it was extremely loud so we explained andasked to be moved to a room away from the lobby. The clerk said that it should quiet down in a few hours and that the only king room was an executive king that would cost more or there was a room with 2 beds. I booked this stay with privilage points and cash btw. I told him that I didn't care where he put us but we did not want to be near the busy and loud lobby. The room (an executive king# was horrible. It was dirty, the shower had mold and the tiles were falling off. The jacuzzi was broken #not that I would have used it due to the filth) and took up a large portion of the room. There was no way that we could shower in the filth and mold. I tried to contact the front desk to see if we could again be moved however he didn't answer so I went down and there was a line so we decided to go to dinner and address it when we returned. When we got back I spoke to the clerk and he apologized but didn't offer to move us stating that there was no where else he could put us. I also asked him to cancel our 2nd night and he told me couldn't do it because I booked the room on points plus cash and that I should contact choice privilages customer service to cancel. I did get in touch with them after a 45minute on hold time and was told that the hotel had to do it. That night we were awakend at 3am by people upstairs running water and using the jacuzzi and people running in the hallway. We couldn't get any sleep so we went down and checked out at around 7am. The female clerk at the desk was very nice and apologized to us and asked why we didn't call down and ask to be moved. I explained that the night clerk told us that there was no where to move us so we just rode it out. She said that there were rooms available on the executive level floors and we should have/could have been moved. I did a review on tripadvisor that reflected the mold and filth and the management apologized for "the noise disturbances from our fellow guests and that our new room had a cosmetic defect on one of the furniture pieces & welcomed us to come back". They didn't address the mold and the tiles that were falling off in the shower and the fact that we were unable to even shower there because of it. This is the worst hotel experience I have ever had but the lack of customer service made...
Read moreI booked the hotel through booking.com. My kids and I arrived Friday we stayed in room 308 Upon arrival the lady at the front desk was pleasant. when we got to our room the key didn't work so we had to go back down and get another key during that time my son had to use the restroom in the lobby someone had gone in there and puked all over everything it stunk and was disgusting so, of course, he did not use it. When we arrived in the room it was very dated. There was mold or some black stuff surrounding the tub. The ceiling looked as if there had been a leak the wood on the bottom of the wall in the bathroom looked like it had been rotted and there was no soap. Mind you it was spring break weekend so there weren't any other rooms to go to if we had left so we stayed. Someone upstairs was having a party and was making so much noise that we couldn't sleep. I called the front desk and made her aware of it as well as the condition of the room and that there was no soap. She didn't acknowledge that at all but said she was going to go check out the noise upstairs. We finally just all fell asleep. At 5 am I woke up to my arms itching and covered with bite marks. I have had a bad experience with BED BUGS BEFORE so I knew exactly what it was. I went to the front desk and made the lady aware while talking to her another guest said he had bite marks on him as well. They sent to Hispanic ladies up there to check. I found out later it was MARY PATEL (THE OWNER OF THE HOTEL) She came to my room with another lady and they begin to strip the sheets off the bed and she said they didn't see anything. I advised her some bed bugs are too small to see but I was definitely bitten and showed her the bite marks. She then tried to convince me that "I must have some allergies that I was unaware of" I said well how do you explain the other guest that was bitten and by this time all three of my children were noticing bite marks as well. Noe of us have allergies by the way. She advised me to take some allergy medicine and I should be fine. I have never been more frustrated before. My kids and I decided to leave. On the way out we checked the bathroom and the same mess from the day before was still there. I also told the front desk lady about that and she said someone was coming to clean it up. 2 Whole days of puke just sitting in the bathroom! I would not recommend anyone to stay here. It is nasty, disgusting, and overrun with Bed Bugs! I'm going to see if I can upload the photos so no one else will have to go...
