First off, 5 stars because I hate chains and I actually oddly enjoyed my stay. Overall, I’d stay here again mostly just because it’s a “cut all the extras and I’ll sell you a budget bed without bed bugs and great ac.” And the pet fee is only $15. Read below for full list of pros/cons. Pros Right next to a nice gas station that serves Krispy Kreme donuts and a family dollar with anything you could need. No signs of carpet or sheet staining like other reviews have stated. A nice pool table for pool lovers. Very discounted vending snacks(all 75 cents) Low pet fee ($15) however they put you in a smokers room. Most affordable hotel when I went. Accepted debit cards. Efficient check in process. No problem getting in room and provided with Wi-Fi password at checkin. Plenty of parking. Let me checkin early at 3pm. Was waiting to checkin since 1 since I got into town earlier and figured I’d try. They had no problem with it. Nice fridge in room that worked well. Guys, stop talking bad about the (gruff?) guy. He’s clearly improved or you were a bad guest. He was there within 2 minutes anytime I had a question or a request. I don’t think nearly nasty enough for say bed bugs or anything of that sort. It’s a little run down, but not nearly that bad. Some of the reviews are exaggerating or the hotel has improved since they were guests. Cons Heard a dog scruffing at carpet for 5 minutes straight at 2am, couldn’t sleep until it stopped. The rooms don’t have microwaves (lol) Tub looked too gross, didn’t want housekeeping to come when it should’ve been done right the first time. Definitely don’t take a shower without shower shoes. As other reviews have stated, they need to take off all of the shower heads and soak in vinegar. How are they not already doing this? I don’t know. They couldn’t provide the most basic of amenities. Asked for lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste. All chain hotels have this in disposable forms. Not this hotel. The breakfast is just a bunch of little Debbie’s. I’m not kidding. Picture attached. The juice is either disgusting at baseline or it hasn’t been cleaned in awhile, kept in the machine too long, or not kept at proper temperature. It was gross. The tv is literally like 240 or 360p or something. Fuzzy like it was 2007. Like 30 channels and couldn’t fine ESPN for example. No TV guide as it stated that there would be. Did not discuss anywhere having the pet and paying the fee meant being put in a smoker room. Realized this once the guys next door were smoking with the door open and then read in the guide that it was a requirement for those with pets. Beds are pretty hard but I had a nice 12 hour nap after doing Mt Bierstadt.

The location is right off the highway. That was the first plus. The only other second plus was for my handicapped dad. He was able to take a shower because they had multiple plastic shower seats and metal grab bars in the shower and bathroom. The bid downfall at first was how that room smelt of old must and the carpet was old. The only positive was the bathroom for him. Even the ramp up to the handicapped accessible was difficult as it was a steep old wood ramp. It’s hard for him with his prosthetic leg. Out of my entire week trip all around Colorado, this was one of the most expensive hotels as we had to rent two separate rooms instead of renting a suite. This was the worst hotel I have stayed in my entire life traveling around. Someone had taken then toilet paper and there was none so we had to call and have some brought to us, only 1 roll is allowed at a time and if it was already used, that’s the only roll you got to start with. Now the second room which was mine smelt of cat urine and probably dog urine as well. It was nasty. The sheets looked clean and glad they went with a light blue but I maybe got 2 hours of sleep that night. I could hardly breathe. The carpet it old and nasty. There were nats in the bathroom and vanity. I did not use the bathroom or sink at all and decided to brush my teeth with bottled water once I left. I would absolutely not recommend staying here. I’d go to another town even and hour or two away. If I could give half a star, I would. That’s only for the handicapped accessible room. Way over priced. This place should be a $50 night stay

Jose and John were very helpful. The rooms were clean and tidy and comfortable. The views were unbelievable. Even tho the lodge is outdated it has the cozy feeling. It was quiet and breakfast was great. Waffles 🧇 yess please. as well The price was unbeatable for the area. I know there some not so good reviews but from my experience it was great and my kids loved the pool table great way to kill time. Great place to take a company trip to a lot of space and they said they’ll rent the top floor for companies. If you need rest and a low cost place to stay I’d recommend Goretown Lodge ask for Jose for great places to eat around the area. They’re very knowledgeable of the town. And I especially recommend to sit out back and enjoy the hummingbirds

Pros

Right next to a nice gas station that serves Krispy Kreme donuts and a family dollar with anything you could need.

No signs of carpet or sheet staining like other reviews have stated.

A nice pool table for pool lovers.

Very discounted vending snacks(all 75 cents)

Low pet fee ($15) however they put you in a smokers room.

We booked 6 rooms for our people because we were going back to glenwood spring before our morning flight. Some of our boys were drinking in the lobby because we werent never told that they cant drink in the lobby and the boys did stop once they were told. The lady receptionist was okay but everything change when the older guy come in. He was giving weird stares. So we wanted to wash our wet clothes before out flight and ask him if we could get some change for $15 to use the laundry. He started to service us with a nasty attitude and told us that their hotel is not a laundromat where we will be doing laundry all night plus he said he can only give quarter change for $5 dollar because we should only do one load of drying and washing. And if we needs to do more than 1 load we have to go to laundromat because guest shouldn't be doing laundry since this was not a laundromat. SO RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! Isn't he suppose to be happy that we are using their one and only old washer and not so hot dyer, so they could earn some more $$. Because of our groups, we have to do 2 loads and waited for it in the lobby at 11pm-1am. Then he came out the back storage door and just stared at us for straight 30 sec like a dead deer when we were waiting in the lobby for us clothes like we are some kind of theft and we are doing something we shouldn't. We didn't get to the hotel until 9ish pm due to the long drive from glenwood spring, so we did started our laundry a bit late but we have no choice since we are leaving tomorrow early and we can't leave with wet clothes. We only sleep here because it was getting too late or else we will have gone. This is a hotel so he should understand that guest can come from anywhere at any time, so he should welcome guest with open arms ar any hours. He shouldn't tell guest on what to do and not to do especially when they are not doing something wrong.

Room stated that it is non smoker but room and pillows reek strong smell of cigarettes amd wet old musky carpet. Customers services are poor. Need to improve on how to welcome and treat guest with better care. Breakfast is a joke. Just some waffle with muffins. We met Lisa on the morning when we came down to breakfast and she was the only good about this hotel. She is a wonderful lady!

I will not recommend this place unless you are out if choice like us. Book somewhere if you want to be...

I'm giving this place 4 stars based on its classification. It is not a four star hotel. I believe this place has recently gone through a MAJOR rejuvenation because the outside had been freshly painted and practically everything in the room looked brand new. • the good- the tv, carpet, most of the furniture, and the bed were brand new. The room was obviouslyrecently painted and the sheets were very soft. The bed was AMAZING! It is a memory foam mattress, not a mattress topper, and makes you fall right to sleep. It was somehow both firm and soft, at the same time, in the most amazing of ways and I woke up without my hips hurting for the first time in at least a year. Also, to be just feet from the interstate, I never once was bothered by any noise either from the road or my neighbors. • the bad- the courtyard is mostly dirt with tiny tufts of grass here n there and is littered with beer bottles (it, mercifully, cleared out before 10). The air conditioner is very dated and took a long time to cool off the room. There are always people hanging out outside smoking cigarettes (although, surprisingly, I didn't see a single butt lying around on the ground) and, aside from the fact that the smell of cigarettes makes me sick to my stomach, it made me a little uncomfortable. They seemed to be unsavory characters and I was by myself and didn't get there until pretty late so it just made me nervous. The front desk guy was a little clipped with me and a little flippant but he wasn't, by any means, rude. I guess I'm just used to staying at more upscale establishments. He didn't balk when I explained to him that I have a service animal (you'd be surprised at how rude people become and even try to deny me lodging when they learn that I require a service animal) and was, surprisingly, very nice about it. All in all the place is alright. It looks a little rough from the outside and is definitely a dated building but the owners (possibly new owners if the older reviews indicate anything) obviously take a lot of pride in the building and are trying very hard to keep it up and make it as nice and clean as possible and I respect that. Plus, for the price you can't beat it. You're only 45 minutes from Denver where you'd pay twice as much to stay in a nasty...
