Stopped at the visitors center and asked about restaurants. I told the lady behind the desk we wanted cafe food but not sandwiches. She recommended a place and I asked again if they had hamburgers or American hearty cafe food and she assured me they did. We walked the two blocks, sat down and saw they only served sandwiches, soups and salad. We went to leave and the waitress acted like she was appalled that we would not order. Went to a second restaurant and was ignored and after 5 minutes of watching 3 employees ignored us we left. Every encounter today from a local or business owner was negative. We’ve been coming to Georgetown for many years buying Christmas, eating and shopping. Each time we have encountered rude business owners. Today was our last visit. If you really want tourists to spend their money then business owners need to be friendly,...

I stopped here by happenstance while driving through the mountains, and glad I did. Easy access to the interstate, dog walking area, picnic table by trees, clean bathrooms, water fountains, things to look at, and a gift shop with a lot of interesting items. The gift shop employees were kind. One told me because I waited patiently it was a 20% discount, although the item I was purchasing was already supposed to be 20% off, (and I only received one 20% off) so they tried with the customer service, made me laugh. The taxes are high around 10% on the gift shop purchase. The visitor center also provides opportunities to learn about the national historic landmark district through films...

They have a bunch of great Colorado trinkets. If you need to get a Colorado gift for your special someone, then I recommend stopping here and looking around. You're bound to find something.

My daughter wanted an antler whistler, so I couldn't resist. Guy at the counter told me the antler whistle is a great gift for someone else. I soon found out what he meant.

The parking lot was packed with people when we stopped on a Friday afternoon.

It's run by a bunch of retired folks. They are very knowledgeable, wise, helpful, patient, but tend to be on the slower side, so don't be in a hurry.

Stop and check this place out. It's a great photo...

Open and welcoming guests to use there bathroom and browse their well equipped visitor center and gift shop . Great handicap parking and entrance , top notch handicap bathroom facilities , can either enter the men's or women's and have a bathroom to yourself in there with a closing door saying everything inside or you have a private room as well in the hallway before you go into the bathroom . Gas stations and dollar store near by as well as a scenic route you don't wanna miss , don't get back on the highway , you will regret it !!

Stop in to learn the history of Georgetown while you browse through the gift shop's locally, artisan made home decor. From artful dishes, to their geode "mines", the shop has a little bit for everyone. Not into shopping? The outdoor space is a perfect "waiting room" to take in the views and walk your dog. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The perfect spot to stop on your way to Georgetown adventures. Don't forget to pick a warm and cozy sweatshirt before you head out to the mountains!

This place tell you lot about George Town. It also has lot of Information about the small Historical town. Only after visiting this place I came to know about the details of this wonderful small town. This place has lot of gifts you can buy. There is small Gold and silver foils in the bottle sold here which is significant of this town history in mining. The coffee here is free and it is provided from donations, great concept. Must visit place in Colorado.
