Cowlitz River Lodge — Hotel in Graham

I called you and got no response I didn't realize we were gonna get late and our battery got low as my disabled cousin got sick we had to rush her to a clinic You keep saying my card didn't work this shows your decision was based on money and nothing else. You thought I am not getting the money lets just cancel without any note on the door We had to go for dinner as my cousin was sick and diabetic we couldn't afford her feeling weak

It's sad you didn't leave even a note at the door and now your tone is hurtful. Extremely heartbreaking as I booked after reading your good reviews but i Was disappointed

I am driving to a hotel back in Seattle as i was not able to check in at 10 p on July 5th. I reached the hotel at 10-20The reception was closed and tried calling sister hotels but no response. I have flown in from Texas and no other hotel had an empty room. So i am stranded and no place to stay. I booked almost a month in advance . It’s customer service to call and ask if we are coming in time. This has never happened with me before . Pathetic service .

This is the response i got from the lodge Cowlitz River Lodge said: I called you NUMEROUS times last night! No voicemail no nothing. It specifically states that check in is until 10pm. Our lobby is closed after that. Why did you not call here?? Why would you try to call our sister hotels? That makes absolutely no sense as I would have answered the phone and checked you in! Even your credit card was blocked....This is entirely your responsibility to let us know that you would be running late. I never have a problem with guests that notify me that they will be arriving after 10pm.Here is what i want to respond

I was there at 10-30 pm and never got any call or voicemail from the property. I called the property number multiple times and it went to voicemail and then i tried calling neighboring properties no one responded . We flew in from Texas and had no reservation . I can’t begin to explain how my night went and where we ended up . I have a cousin who is disabled so being stranded in Packwood was a disaster . On the top of that i have harsh messages from the property blaming us and i sincerely received no calls or even a heads up.

I sent another email below- I was at blue spruce salon then went to fill up tank at the gas station . When I reached and called the lodge it was locked and your voicemail was full. Your tone is harsh, you put my family through an unsafe situation. And you never emailed even if you tried calling and I tried calling it didn’t work out. We are out of town and there was no hotel available. I am copy pasting this entire conversation on google to show the tone and insensitivity you have portrayed over this conversation.

Walking in the door and approaching the front desk was a bit of a bad vibe. We were not greeted in a friendly manner at all and I get the feeling it was because we were wearing masks. They actually have a sign on the door that says masks are mandated in Washington, but it’s your choice to wear one or not. This is simply NOT true as masks are mandated in the state.

The lobby is on the small size, but very nice. The complimentary popcorn was not that good. The breakfast room was very small and a sign stated that the health department is asking people to take their food back to their room because of social distancing violations. The breakfast was adequate.

As someone else stated, this is not a lodge. It’s a motel with outside doors and the second floor rooms must maneuver outside stairs. Our room had comfortable beds and there is a second sink outside the bathroom which is nice. Our sink outside the bathroom had an ice cream bucket under it that was half full of dripping water. The bathroom light fixture was missing one of the (4) lightbulbs. The TV should have been bigger for the size of the room. The room furniture was adequate and I did like the fact that the refrigerator had a top freezer. This comes in handy to put our freezer packs for the cooler. The back window and screen were very dirty and the window sill needs replacement or varnish. The carpet is ready for cleaning or replacing. Overall, the room could be a lot sharper.

The place was great. Staff was very kind and helpful. The lobby has a great little rec area. My family took advantage of the comfort of this area for game nights after dinner. The lodge is close to several great places to eat. All within walking distance if desired. The sky poured the entire time we were there. The lobby has an enormous selection of teas and always had hot water and coffee. The rooms were great. Water pressure in the showers are incredible! I really don't have anything to complain about. They don't have phones in the rooms however I've never stayed in a lodge before so I don't know if this is common or not. The complimentary shampoo and conditioner is really nice. Beds are comfortable. The town seems safe. Kids of various ages were running around throughout the day into the early evening. People are very kind and very helpful. I would definitely stay at this lodge again based on location, staff...
