Wanted to like this place! I have a hard time posting a bad review of a cool start up like this but in the day and age where breweries are a dime a dozen service needs to be top notch to enjoy just another with the same tasting over priced ales! It has a great atmosphere and Packwood is a great location for a brewery. However, that’s where it ends. The service was terrible, I went to the bar to order a beer, standing under the “Order Here” sign, and the tender had just finished serving the customer before me, then walked away to serve someone else at the other end of the bar without acknowledging my presence. As he came back by he walked right past me to a couple down the way without so much as a nod. It wasn’t until I sat at the bar did I get served a beer. Ordered food which came extremely quickly, almost too quickly, making me believe its all prepared (not to order). When the place got backed up with a line under the “Order Here” sign I waited patiently, near 30 minutes, with an empty glass for a refill as the fellow on the other side of the line at the bar proceeded to be served and swill three, and the couple to my left received two refills. Not until I got up and stood in line did I get served a second pint. The beer was highly ordinary craft with no distinguishing characteristics and was trumped only by the $6 a pint price tag. This place is worth a stop if you’re looking to get snubbed by poor service and mediocre ales, I won’t make an attempt to return. If their goal is to be on par with the equally unexceptional poor serviced brewery over the hill they’re hitting it. I’ll stop there next time. Two thumbs very down. Sorry Guys appreciate what you’re trying to do but other than location I’m...

Looks nice. Too bad they don't serve drinks at 8:40pm even though they close at 9pm. And there is nothing else in this little town. So why not? Seriously. Oh. But it's ok to pour growlers for people..... Just not anything smaller I guess.

In response to the owner's response: That's a really solid reply to a negative review so good job on that. I had a similar experience down the street at the pizza place, with a beer, that I really don't get because they were still open and cooking. I know your kitchen was closed, which also sucked, but I do get it, when staff is hard to come by. I guess 'closed' is supposed to mean people out the door so they can close up. I would get that. Except there were people outside eating with your beer and their pizzas. It feels like a hard situation all around, but it also feels a little illogical. I suppose the issue is with the fuzzy line between basic service and potential issues surrounding alcohol and customers perhaps, idk. I was also surprised when the pizza place wasn't selling any of your beer. I really expected to see a perfect combination of businesses where one can make the food and the other the drinks and they work together to make tough times actually super awesome for each other and the customers who come here and get stuck. Pipe dream I guess, working a business is hard. Still, my two star review is of the service and experience I had, not a rating of the business intentions, and unfortunately there aren't two ways to rate those differently. I'll up the review due to the rational response to a tough situation, which does imply a really good...

Came in on 4/13. When ordering the second beer I was stuck sitting at the counter for 10 minutes before the bartender, who I came to realize was talking to a group of his friends for that time on the other side of the room, appeared and took my order. This was about 7:15 pm. I relayed info that I would be placing an order to go, but want to finish the beer a little more first as to not let the food become soggy. He acknowledges this. The place closes at 9 right? Ok so I expected to be able to order until 9 like any establishment with food. 8:30 comes around and he comes up to me to tell me it’s last call. I ask can I place my order for food? He gets all huffy, and tells me the kitchen is closed. Not an apology, not an acknowledgment. Almost a smile, like he purposefully went out of his way to make sure I didn’t get food. ODD experience. You would think you would want to make more money….as more money equals more tip. Ok…. And now I’m seeing this is a reoccurring problem on here from the reviews, of which I did not notice before. As a server or bartender, it’s your job to let people know the deal of your own establishment, especially if it was talked about?? 2 stars for the beer because it was actually enjoyable but doubt I will be back due to the unwelcoming experience. The server either seemed clueless or...

Covid 19 Safe: We came across a newly open Brewery, Packwood Brewing Co. We rented a cabin in Packwood to get away from everything for a week. We were delighted to find the brewery was open to the public. They have indoor tables set apart more than 6 feet and we felt quite safe as well as an outdoor space. They have a small food menu and we had a light snack before dinner. The food was tasty. The outdoor space has huge firepits, picnic tables, log seating, and shade coverings. The whole experience was great. Now for the important part, how was the beer? The beer was amazing. I am very picky and this is one of the first brewery’s I’ve experienced that I found I liked every beer on tap. From the Porter, IPA, to their White Pass Pale. The staff were great and seem to love what they are doing. The firepits are huge with log fires going. They have a wood pile that they are actively chopping wood for the fire pits. A herd of Elk were sleeping in the grassy field across from us. We enjoyed everything about this place and would highly recommend it to everyone. HappuccinoLife.com

The rice bowl is more like a rice cup. About a third the size of a chipotle bowl. For $15. My friend got a rice bowl and was still very hungry afterward, but not willing to pay for more overpriced food. Overheard other people with this same complaint. I almost felt like I should warn people in line as a public service lol. I got the steak quesadilla for $15 and it was moderately filling. I also got an Arnold Palmer (made with minute made lemonade). Street tacos are $5-6 each. Nachos seemed like the best value. Bottom line: This place is making a killing off of overpriced mediocre food! Good for them. The vibe is great (both inside and outside). The inside smelled strongly of cleaning product, so we ate outside.
