Quaint hotel. Clean beds and room with a small bit of mold in bathroom. Only place in town that would let 3 adults and 4 kids with 2 dogs stay in one room (with only 2 double beds). Only 3 other people stayed at the inn during our time and there was no roll away, and the staff supplied us with only one extra set of sheets so I could sleep on the floor. The pool was enjoyable for the kids, but so cold it wasn't for the adults. Maintenance was supposed to turn the heat on our 2nd day, but even when the 3rd and last day came, the pool was just as cold. There is a fantastic barbeque area behind the hotel with both propane and charcoal grills. It is covered and even has several hammocks. All in all, it would be 3 stars but the lack of accommodation for as many people as we had, and the fact we paid an exorbitant amount for the room. In fact, turns out there are rental homes in the area, that during the week, are comparatively priced. One specific house sleeps 12 and costs 10 dollars more a night. In summation, the inn Will do in a pinch, but not for large groups. Unless you get 2 rooms. Staff was courteous and helpful, but not overly friendly. The cold pool and lack of spare bedding was probably the worst aspects. Everything else was...
Read moreBooked weeks before my trip to Mt. Rainier and they cancelled on me after my check in time. I understand there are unforeseeable events, such as pipes bursting, but they were very rude and continued to have listings online despite telling me they were closed. Did not give me alternatives and told me to use google to find accommodations. Found this very impolite as they cancelled on us and refused to help.
There is barely any reception in the mountains so we were lucky enough to get connected. Google was not working well and it was well into night when they cancelled on me. When I asked further questions Lisa/Dawn threateningly asked "if I wanted my money back or not". Refused to connect me to a supervisor and told me to google Frank Hotels if I wanted to escalate. Hung up on me multiple times saying she had to get back to work after asking for sympathy because she had to make uncomfortable calls, offering no support while stranding us.
Called Michelle/Lida at Frank Hotels, the corporation that owns Packwood Lodge. They were much friendlier but gave misleadingly cheap quotes for alternative accomodations and never followed up like they said they would. Ended up booking elsewhere for...
Read moreIf i could do 0 stars, I would. DO NOT book yourself a room for this dump of a place online. My wife, newborn and I are on vacation right now. We were supposed to stay here last night, but I got a text from Expedia early yesterday saying there was an issue with my reservation (that I made months ago). I called Expedia, and Packwood overbooked and gave my room away. I was on the phone and trying to sort this out for 4 hours. Everything in the area had no vacancy. They finally found us a place 40 minutes away. When u checked into our new hotel, the hotel manager told me they get calls every weekend from Expedia because Packwood overbooked. Packwood does not care about their customers. They just want your money. They'd rather give your room away the morning of instead of ensure that you, your wife and NEWBORN BABY have a place to stay. Absolutely ridiculous.
Packwood, I have friends who come here every year for work. I will do all I can to make sure they NEVER plan to...
