Room 6 in the Carriage House was spacious and comfortable.
What was NOT enjoyable was that to reach it from the parking lot, you must climb up 30 external stairs and then climb back down 15 steep, narrow, internal steps. I have bad knees and this was quite painful. If the owners actually cared for their older and/or encumbered patrons, they would add 3-4 steps down from the upper street to join the area walkway at the end of the building on one side. And they could create an accessible ramp from the bench partway up from the parking lot to join the area walkway from that side.
The floor register next to the shower is a tripping hazard and should be relocated.
I would have liked a more detailed map in my room showing where the kitchen, spa, etc actually are, rather than the sketch map of the building locations. Arriving on a dark, rainy night and having to negotiate all the stairs, I didn’t try to hunt them out.
PS. Some of us don’t drink coffee. I would love to have had a cup of tea or cocoa with water from a hot pot. Coffee machines always...
Read moreWe just returned from a 4 night stay here with our two children (2y, 5y) and had the Family Suite and it was such a lovely stay! It was our first time traveling out of state with our little ones and having the suite with 2 adjoining bunk rooms was worth its weight in gold!!
We appreciated the separate space for them to unwind and the communal, well-stocked kitchen was a treat for morning coffee and feeding them outside of the restaurant scene.
Our 5y was teary-eyed leaving his room, and loved getting to explore all Green Mountain Falls had to offer. It's perfect vicinity to walk to the nearby local restaurants and shops, explore the park, and find nearby trails. Any other guests sharing the kitchen or communal spaces were very respectful and we enjoyed spending nights on the porch or around the fire pit with s'mores! Will...
Read moreSuch a stunning place—words hardly do it justice. Currently enjoying the quiet and the rocking chairs while writing this. Nestled in the wooded hillside (yes, there are a few steps to climb, but absolutely worth it), the lodge feels like a hidden retreat. The room itself is lovely, but what truly stole my heart were the fire pit and the cozy porch. I had the best sleep of my entire trip here, and the spacious bathroom was such a nice surprise! Lovely toiletries, bathrobes and a lamp are provided- the towels even smelled really great. It is an older building, so you may hear footsteps from your neighbors, but to me, that only added to the charm and character of the stay. There is no front desk but if you have questions there is a phone on the property to reach a member of the staff! I’m completely in love...
