My wife and I went here with friends in August, 2024. We liked this restaurant in its previous identity and had heard good things about Cantina Verde. My wife and I decided to share the fajitas--I like fajitas a lot and enjoy the drama and smell of them coming out on a sizzling platter.
At Cantina Verde, there was no drama and basically no sizzle--they came out on a platter but just warm. They included a healthy helping of grilled chicken but came with 4 very small wraps and not enough grilled veggies for the amount of chicken. When I asked the waiter (who seemed to be extremely busy) for more wraps, he brought 2 more--not enough for the food provided. The sides were fine and the food tasted good, but it didn't measure up to what I think of when I crave fajitas. I also thought the beer selection was disappointing. In a state that has literally thousands of local breweries, the restaurant offered a cliche selection that you would expect in a chain establishment.
Mexican restaurants are very abundant in this part of the country. I find it a bit strange for someone to add to the competition with a half-hearted effort. The food definitely isn't bad here, but it's nothing I'd drive 20 miles for (which is the distance...
Read moreIf you’re looking for an exceptional dining experience in Green Mountain Falls, look no further than Cantina Verde! My group and I stopped in recently and were absolutely blown away by the food, the atmosphere, and the hospitality.
We started with the chips and salsa, which, as any Mexican food lover knows, are a key indicator of what’s to come—and they did not disappoint! Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly spiced, they set the tone for an amazing meal. From there, we ordered the Elote Salad, the Flank Steak Salad, and the Chicken Fajitas. Every dish was beautifully prepared, bursting with fresh ingredients, and absolutely delicious. Each person in our group raved about their meal.
Cantina Verde is also in the perfect spot—it’s an ideal halfway meeting point between Divide and Colorado Springs, making it a great place to meet up with friends or family. The cozy, welcoming vibe of the restaurant made it easy to relax and enjoy the time together.
We’re already planning our next visit and can’t recommend this gem enough. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by—you won’t regret it! Highly...
Read moreThe drinks, chips and salsa are great! Unfortunately, the rest was kind of awful. It took almost an hour for our food to get to the table, and the little salsa bowls are way too small/the servers don't come around often enough to get salsa refills. I got the chicken fajitas and the chicken was dry and unseasoned, the veggies were mushy, the black beans were undercooked, and the flour tortillas were weirdly mushy. Seems like the plate sat for too long under a lamp; it came with a half melted pile of shredded cheese. It was definitely not what you would expect to get when you order a fajita, the chicken seemed like it was grilled separately from the veggies??? My partner got flank steak tacos and the beef was cooked nicely but also unseasoned and his plate had also seemed like it had been sitting for a while because the refried beans had a bit of a skin on them. Third friend got a taco bowl and that looked better. We would consider coming back just for chips and drinks, but definitely not for a meal again. Serranos, up in Woodland Park, is cheaper and has much...
