Previous message on November 14:||||Good afternoon, I am a controller for a construction company here in New Orleans, and I handle all bookings for our company for employees working in the area. I had a very unpleasant experience with the front desk girl at the Harvey location today when I called in to make sure one of our employees was checked in properly. The said employee was denied entry to his room. I booked a new hotel reservation for him on Hotels.com and the reservation was fully paid for. When I called in to check on the issue at 2:51PM on November 14, 2019, the front desk agent (who I do not know the name) answered the phone. After telling her I was calling to check on a hotel reservation for Devon Bailey, she told me the "card needs to be punched in, in order for the system to confirm his reservation". I was quite confused and told her, "I'm sorry, I have no idea what you are talking about". She proceeds to tell me, "Oh, you know exactly what I'm talking about". Her tone was unacceptable. Still not understanding what she was talking about, I asked her to clarify. She told me the hotel just switched to a new system and requires the full 16-digit card number used to book the hotel to be punched in or the physical card has to be on site to viewed. This is the first time I have heard of this, so I explained to her that it was booked under hotels.com, so nothing else should be required. After much debate, I finally gave in to her demands and asked her if I can provide her the card information over the phone since I was the one making the reservation. She then turns to the computer and began the check in process again without taking down my 16 digit card number and was able to run the reservation through. Without any apologies for the confusion she had caused and turning my guest away, she ended the call. ||||I'm very disappointed in the way she handled what happened. One, my employee was turned away and refused entry to his room (which we had also booked prior on Hotels.com) and 2. the attitude she had when handling my inquiries was unacceptable for a service industry staff. ||||I am writing to let you know the type of staff you are employing and an opportunity to make any changes necessary to help your business grow. ||||--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------||||Another update today on November 21.|||| For the sake of convenience, I rebooked the same hotel for onother 7 nights and his room was extended for another 7 nights so that he does not have to move all his things to another hotel. The same front desk girl locked my guy out of his room and he called us again. I called the hotel and she told me he's been put in his room and when I asked why there is always issues with him, she hung up on me. I called again to request to speak with the manager, she asked me rudely, ''why?!" and told me that there's no manager in today. I don't know how if it is accurate. She did give me an email address for the manager but I don't know how true that is. Again, same attitude and issues and the hotel made no attempt to contact me regarding the...
Read moreOkay, so I read the reviews of this place before we stayed and I admit I was worried. However, I had a few minor issues only. To begin, I'll say that the room was basic, pretty clean, and safe. There were essentially 3 locks on the door and we felt that at no time were we in any danger. The main area consisted of a soft chair, night stand, dresser, older tv, double bed, table and chairs. The top blanket was old and we threw it on the ground but the blanket underneath and sheets smelled and looked clean. The kitchenette area had a microwave, stove, refrigerator, sink, utensils and dishes. We stopped at Walmart (literally 1 minute away) and bought kitchen soap and breakfast/lunch items and bottled water to save money. Everything worked well and had no issues. As for the bathroom, during our stay a manager made rounds and asked to see the bathroom. She said ours was one of the old ones and needed an upgrade. The bathroom itself was small, all white, with a sink, toilet, bath/shower. Everything worked fine. We were provided with only a few towels but we just had to take our old towels to the main desk where we received new ones. The sheets are like the towels, you take them to the main desk otherwise you'll wait a week until housekeeping comes. For the negatives, I agree the carpet didn't LOOK dirty but my feet were black walking on it! Second, THE WIFI DOES NOT WORK. I consider this very important. There was no available network that you could even attempt to connect to. No sign that they even have wifi to offer. The tv signal was poor but hey, we were on vacation, we weren't really concerned about tv shows. Last, we had a very delayed flight and ended up getting there close to midnight. I called ahead of time and they said if we arrived before 11, somebody was on staff to help and after 11, the night security guard would be the one to check us in. Well, we rang the buzzer for ten minutes before the security guard woke up, I mean answered our buzzes to be let in the door. That was frustrating at the time, but ended up working out. Overall, if you're on a budget and only need a safe place to sleep, this is a great choice. Also, just a 13 minute drive down...
Read moreDon't stay here. First off I called hours ahead of time to let them know we'd be getting there late for our reservation and they said that's fine then I called again, let them know it would be another hour (we caught traffic) then one of the ladies tried to tell me that if there was availability then we would get a room. I explained I had already reserved it from Weeks before and was already getting charged for it AND the person I spoke to had already put me down for showing up at 9 but I was letting them know I'd be there at 10pm. And she still tried to tell me check in was only until 6pm. Yeah right. Next they had me inspect the first room which REAKED of cigarette smoke and had a huge rip on the carpet, kitchenette was tore up, so I asked for a non smoking room and she said that WAS a nonsmoking. So I was given another room which also stunk of smoke but not as strong as the first so far I told her we'd take it bc we were extremely tired. WORST DECISION EVER. Woke up with BUG BITES all over my back, was itching all over and showed them my back the lady at the front desk apologized for it, but when the next person came in to give my refund she only gave me a partial refund (only for the second night we didn't stay there) and the manager said they didn't find anything and my back looks like its from an irritant as if idk the difference between a bite and what irritated skin feels like. Do not stay here. They don't care about the standards of their rooms, keeping the people happy or cleaning properly. The restroom door didn't lock, the sheet under was YELLOW with stains all over it was extremely disgusting and they just put two white sheets over it. Don't waste your money here please you will...
