We really enjoyed our cabin and the park! We stayed in woodside cabin #25 and really enjoyed it! It was very clean and comfortable! The whole campsite area was very well maintained. We had a little charcoal pit and fit pit area with 4 chairs outside the cabin. The screened-in front porch was VERY nice as well. The kitchen was well-stocked with the essentials. The towels and bedding, including pillows, were very good quality. The whole state park is pretty amazing as well. The park is very nice and clean, the trials are all in great shape. You can tell they take pride in keeping this park nice. While, we didn't get a chance to try any of the on-site restaurants, it's nice that there are options! One restaurant was actually in walking distance to our cabin. We also really appreciated the fact that with the rental of a cabin, we had access to free beach parking, the campground amenities like the pool, nature center, etc. and free access to the pier. The front office staff was super helpful and informative. The campground amenities were great as well. There is a massive pool and even at peak time, we had no issues finding chairs. The splash pad is massive as well! Again, everything was clean and in great condition! There is also a cool nature center that my son really enjoyed with snakes, baby alligators, owls, etc. It was great on one of our rainy mornings. There is also a big pavilion with a pier where the laundry mat is located as well as a really nice convenience shop! This came in handy since we forgot water to keep at our cabin. The beach was super clean and much less crowded than hotel area beaches. Honestly, I can't think of any negatives about our stay! We had a GREAT time and will...

My husband and I stayed in cabin #4 for a week in late April. The cabin was absolutely beautiful, and the decor was stunning. Everything was clean with the exception of a few stains on the hall bathroom floor. They appeared to be spots of glue that was used when laying the tiles. The kitchen is fully stocked with glasses, dishes, flatware, pots and pans, a full-size refrigerator, stove, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and dishwasher if you want to prepare meals. There is a Walmart very close for anything you need. The beds were extremely comfortable. The staff were super and helped us with so many things, including suggestions for good seafood nearby (Desoto's was the best: the food was delicious, it arrived very quickly, and it was the most affordable place we ate while in Gulf Shores). The area is very peaceful. We were slightly disappointed that the fishing dock directly outside our cabin was not available for use because of needed renovations, but Mark (the manager) told us we could use one of the two docks near the cottages, which were very close to our cabin. One thing that I think is needed is somewhere to set your shampoo, shower gel, etc., in the shower stalls. The only place to put your products is on the step-over ledge entrance to the stall, which requires bending down to the floor to access your products. However, overall, this was one of the most enjoyable vacations we've had in a long time, and I highly recommend staying at the cabins at Gulf State Park. We...

From the minute I walked in the office of the park, I knew I had picked the right place for our stay! Amy, Mark and the other nice man (whose name I can't remember) were right there ready to welcome and help. I LOVE good southern hospitality!!! I truly wish I had made time to go back and visit them before we left. Now, let me brag about our Cabin 22--PERFECTION! Clean, cozy, COOL, outfitted with all the essentials, comfortable bed! I really can't say enough POSITIVE about the stay. It was oppressively HOT so sitting on the screened in porch or sitting around the fire pit was out of the question, sadly. We did cook out on the fire pit one night and LOVED that we had fire wood already supplied and a grate on the pit...How Awesome is that?!!!

I'm only disappointed that we didn't get to experience the park due to being there for my grandson's baseball tournament! We were at the ballparks from dawn till dusk. We did eat at the Foodcraft Restaurant and it was FABULOUS! DELICIOUS shrimp & Grits for me and my husband said the Ribeye steak was one of the BEST he's ever eaten.

Needless to say, we will be planning another trip to Gulf State Park in our future!!! And hopefully, my 3 new friends in the office will still be there for me to visit...

We had an amazing stay in Cabin #8! The view and pier were incredible. We were able to see a Bald Eagle come to shore a couple of days which was an added bonus. We took a bike ride on the free bikes, went to the beach, fished off the ocean pier and cabin pier. The fire pit and grill were fantastic and we cooked more on those than in the Cabin. Staff were very friendly and helpful along the way. The only complaint if you want to call it that was that our floors still seemed dirty when we arrived. Otherwise, the Cabin was clean, comfortable, and had all the necessities.

I’m disappointed. I wanted to write a RAVE review about our week-long stay in Cabin 20. However, everyone else seems to have had the SAME excellent, amazing, and WONDERFUL experience that we had! I might add we felt entirely safe there… *never* worrying (as sometimes is the case) that our personal belongings left at the cabin may be tampered with. Yeah, it’s a bit expensive. But you can say that about a lot of things now. The personal attention Mark gave us was — we felt — like having our own, personal concierge! Give that boy a raise!!!😊

The cabins are beautiful and well done! We stayed in cabin 3. There were 6 of us. The kids loved their bunk room. We did notice the bright outside lights, but after walking all of the many trails in the park, we did not have any trouble sleeping!! We love the seclusion and felt that our kids could play and ride their bikes in front of the other cabins with no issues. The tram is great and we really did not even have to leave the park. This is a beautiful place and we will be back.
