United Paleteria Y Neveria — Restaurant in Hayward

We dig the ice cream here, at $2.75 and the different flavors they carry here, it was kid approved. I believe one flavor was lime and the other one tasted like a caramel flavor.

As for the famous Mangonadas here, it was a total disappointment. For $5.50 it came in a small cup layered with chamoy and very uneven mango slices. Maybe we were expecting more for the price, but it didn't deliver for us. It did't have the freshness, zing, or the punch we usually get at other places.

Parking is available in the back. Don't try to park in front of the store (even though you can at certain hours) because the traffic on Mission in crazy and the drivers are crazier. We almost got side swiped.

They have tequila flavored paletas. I was intrigued but didn't get a chance to try it. It seems this place makes these popsicles on the primises and deliver to some drivers in arranged in cages. (As I noticed walking with someone who came through the back.)

I really wanted to like United Ice Cream, especially since the staff is always friendly. But the prices and quality just don’t make sense. I was charged $7.98 for a single scoop of ice cream that was already melting. My husband didn’t even get anything because it didn’t look fresh.

We left and went to Baskin-Robbins, where a single scoop cost $5.29—much more reasonable, and the ice cream was firm and high quality. This has been my third visit to United, and the ice cream has been melting every single time.

So I found this restaurant during my search for mongonada. I've been craving for mongonadas for a couple days now so me and my husband decided to check this place out. Best decision ever. I loved their mongonada. So flavorful. Clean restaurant. I'll definitely go back to check out some more amazing street food at this restaurant later.
