My husband and I have stayed at the Calderwood Inn almost every time we visit the wine country. We always liked it, but were disappointed this time and won't be back. ||The good: delicious breakfasts, comfortable beds. ||The rest: the innkeeper was only there in the morning and for about 2 and 1/2 hours in mid-afternoon. Since we were doing wine tastings, we missed her in the afternoons.|| We stayed in the Pezzi King room. The room was fine but the towels were skimpy and thin-- what you might expect in a cheap motel i forgot to request fresh towels until the second morning of our stay. The new towels were what you'd expect at a good bed and breakfast or hotel. ||Lighting on the path to the room was poor-- they were solar lights which work when there is sunlight during the day. It was rainy for 2 days of our stay, so the lights didn't work when we returned to our room after dinner. The path was very dark for several feet.||Speaking of lighting, the lighting in the dining room in the evening was poor--one little lamp by the buffet table. I drink decaf tea in the evening. Fortunately I brought my own tea since all the decaf tea offered was chamomile. ||In previous years the inn had a lovely charcuterie tray and wine for guests in the late afternoon. We would socialize with other guests. There was nothing like that this time. They did have delicious cookies and wine though. We skipped the wine having been wine tasting all afternoon. ||We felt the inn had gone downhill. Perhaps these were cost cutting measures , but sometimes they go too far. It's too bad because it used to be lovely and we always...
Read moreThey gave our room away!!!! |After calling several times to confirm our room prior to arrival for a late check, we arrived only to find out that the suite we booked was given to someone else by mistake. We contacted the ‘after hours’ number and it put us through to housekeeping. This person (very sweet and apologetic) contacted the Innkeeper that had been on duty that day and was told to inform us that we would have to “deal with it in the morning”. No one reached out to speak to us and we were left tired and confused. |Although a standard room was available for the night, it didn’t have the amenities that we specifically asked for (iron, refrigerator, tub) and we unfortunately had to seek other accommodations (not fun when it’s in the middle of the night after a 5 hour drive). |I understand that mistakes can happen, but what I don’t understand is that even after leaving a voicemail, text messages (that were shown to be read) and a hand written note, we were not contacted by anyone with an explanation and/or apology until well into the following week (this occurred on a Friday evening). Even at that point, all that was said was a standard apology and “Hope you’ll consider staying with us in the future” |Such a...

Wish I could give 0 stars. Showed up with bags in hand for our night stay that my wife had booked and payed for in advance. When we walked in the front desk boy's first question to us was "Does anyone have pet allergies"? I have severe pet allergies and laying in a bed or room where dogs are all over the room would kill me. Took me a while to find their pet policy after the fact buried within website at the bottom of one of the pages.
Then they sent us to another B&B that they own that they said hasn't had dogs for a while. Not ok for a person with bad pet allergies. At his point we just wanted to find a hotel that doesn't allow animals outside the off chance they had a service dog.
Everyone on there staff was rude and acted like it was our fault. Just asked for money back and they said "No" and acted like children. Never have I been treated so poorly. We paid for a specific room and were not willing to take a smaller room that still had animals staying in the room.
I then called a manager a few days later since they do not work nights or weekends. Thought he would be reasonable....boy was I wrong. It's not like we called last minute to cancel, we showed up to find it was not what we paid for. So...
