On January 31st, I had the misfortune of encountering one of their drivers from the bakery that goes to St. Helena to deliver bakery goods every morning to various food businesses. He was traveling quickly through the parking lot of Sunshine Market in St. Helena, and without barely even slowing down, he turned out of an aisle and cut me off to where I had to hit the brakes hard. I honked at him, he beeped back a couple times and yelled, "Here's something for you to blow!" Wow! In a company van, with all the business information on it!
Not only was he driving without due caution, his attitude and behavior when honked at was extremely unprofessional.
I e-mailed the company, got no response. I sent the company a Facebook message, got no response. I e-mailed the company again, just in case they missed the first one. No response. I expected some sort of an apology or at least an assurance that the driver would be talked to about the incident and warned to be more professional. Nothing back from the company.
So now it's clear to me that the company does not seem to care that they have a driver with a bad attitude.
But here's where it gets good. The incident was recorded on a dashboard camera, and the footage was posted on YouTube in a video titled: "Mild Road Rage Costeaux French Bakery".
All the manager had to do was issue a simple apology. I figure maybe their driver was just having a bad day, but to add insult to injury, the company completely shoves this matter under the rug by completely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat a horrible experience, let me first say the service and etiquette which the staff of a restaurant at this level had shown should be ashamed and all staff should be retrained. I came to healdsburg for a nice lunch for restaurant week and maybe some dessert with my fiance and baby daughter(it was raining btw). I called ahead to see if there was seating and there was we didn't mind eating outside if it was heated. Upon arrival there were 3 couples ahead of us with is fine because we didn't mind waiting but it took the hostes about 20 minutes before she came out and ignored everyone and didn't even ask us if we were eating there or our names or anything and went inside looking disheveled and distressed. I went inside to ask some teenagers that were working there if we could be helped anytime soon because we had been waiting in the rain and all they could do is say the hostes would help us but I already knew we weren't getting help anytime soon. In the 25 minutes I was waiting 2 copies left and one was called but like I said before the hostes was uninterested in taking names or anything when there were clearly a dozen open tables. I recommend people spend there money any any other restaurant in healdsburg because this place clearly dosent have its establishment...
Read moreLoved the ambiance and atmosphere! Very cute bakery, definitely a place to visit for an experience. Lovely well-lit bakery cases, and a variety of cake slices at around $8.50 per slice. We had lunch here as well and I got the burger. The menu said wagyu beef, but if you don't know how rare and expensive real wagyu beef is, then just know that what you're really eating is regular, fattier ground beef. I knew this, and still ordered and enjoyed it for the most part. At $25 for the burger and fries, I was surprised to find that it was also the tiniest $25 burger and fry I've ever seen! Burger was the same size as an in-and-out burger, but not as many fries as in-and-out serves. It was just enough food I suppose. I was content, but I normally eat smaller portions so it's not a huge issue. We also got an iced cookie from the bakery and while it was cute, I'm sorry to say it was not tasty at all. The cookie was very over cooked and brown throughout. I couldn't taste any butter in the cookie itself, and it really relied on the heavy sweetness of the royal icing to cover up the off-putting taste. Our whole meal (2 entrées, 1 kid plate + side, 1 drink, and a cookie) was a few dollars shy of $100. The food was a very expensive "eh" but the ambiance was cute and I'm glad we...
