Service was fantastic. They have a great team on board. The server assistant was ON POINT with bussing the table and refilling your beverage.
Small plate restaurant ( tapas ) with a lean towards seafood.
The BEST fried Buffalo Oysters.
Small Neck Clams had great flavor and weren’t too chewy. Dipping sauces fantastic.
Don’t bother with the kale salad as it takes entirely too much jaw effort to chew it. Maybe lightly blanching the kale beforehand if you’re open to suggestions. Or go with baby kale.
BBQ bacon wrapped scallops had a nice smoky flavor from the grill, but the bbq sauce itself is very sweet with a high acidity to it.
The yellowtail ceviche was inspiring, but I wouldn’t have such large pieces of cilantro as it tends to over power the dish.
Fries nice and crispy, but the goat cheese ranch dipping sauce tasted like an upscale tartar sauce.
Go with the lemon meringue tart for dessert, although the presentation could have been better because, who wants to eat bruised strawberries that look over two days old ( it starts to get this glazed over look. ) Peanut butter chocolate molten cake was dry. Peanut butter ice cream saved it, but very rich.
Would’ve liked to see come espresso or dessert wine to end the evening. But great...
Read moreThe last dinner in Healdsburg before we headed home. We made a reservation for a party of 8, but the host said we were free to check in early if we wanted to. We ended up arriving 30 minutes before our reservation, but the table was just finishing up so we hit up the bar for a few rounds before we were seated.
The menu is centered around seafood and it's meant to be enjoyed family style. They are decently sized for tapas styled dishes, but enough to share all around. I love these types since you can try a little bit of everything and we literally did just that.
What we got -- Steamers: Little Neck Clams New England Style Rolls: Warm Main Lobster with Garlic Butter & Fennel Skewers From the Grill: Marinated Chicken, Minted Lamb, BBQ Bacon Wrapped Scallops, Hanger Steak Small Plates: Calamari, Kale Caesar, Fried Ipswich Clam Strips, Beet Salad, Uni Crab Orzotto, Cast Iron Fish & Chips
Table Favorites (we ordered multiples): Calamari (3x), Minted Lamb (2x), Lobster Roll (2x)
It was safe to say, we all left full and happy. Our bill was just about $220 or so, which is way less than I had guessed by the sheer amount of stuff we ordered. Pretty solid for a group...
Read moreWe made an online reservation two months in advance for Willi's. When we arrived at our designated time, we were seated for dinner on bar stools in the bar area. After a few moments, we complained that we would rather be seated in the dining room since we had a reservation, and since the bar area was loud, crowded, and the TVs were blaring. We were told by the two very unpleasant hostesses that the dining room was full and it would be another 45 minutes until a table was available. They said that because we made our reservation online, and didn't specify between the dining room or the bar area, there was nothing they could do. As if we're supposed to know that we have to specify! When you make a reservation, you expect to be seated in a dining room. We ended up putting our name on a list, and agreed to wait 45 minutes for a table in the actual dining room. However, we eventually left and dined at a nice french bistro down the street. We will never attempt to go to Willi's again. It was a horribly...
