Per the website for this rv resort, it allows you to make a reservation online, which I did. I reserved a space for a month and I received an email stating someone should be calling me to collect the security deposit. No one did so after 2 days I called to confirm and the lady I spoke with told me because we were checking in on the 23rd day of the month, our rent would be pro rated until the 1st when the rent is due. I was told we would pay the $150 refundable security deposit plus the pro rated amount and our total move in was going to be about $277 until the 1st when we would then pay the normal $475. We got there and the lady working the office was not the same lady I spoke with on the phone and we were not allowed to check in unless we paid the last week of the current month, all of next months rent plus the security deposit which would have cost us about $750, plus she had the nerve to tell me they don't allow monthly people to reserve! What? Then why did the website allow me to do it? I explained what I was told via phone and she said that was not true and we had to pay all of that, plus put in a written 30 day notice to leave or we would have to pay another month and we had to provide not only our drivers license (standard) but also our rv title, registration and proof of insurance! What?!!!!! We have never had to do this at ANY park before. This was ridiculous! So not only do their office staff not know how to charge, the lady in the office check in day was sooooooooooo rude and unpleasant. We called a park in Adelanto where the rest of my husband's company was staying and apparently they are aware of the difficulties at Desert Willows park and he was sympathetic to the hoops you have to jump through to stay there. We got our rent $75 less a month and the security deposit in Adelanto was $50 less saving us $125 just on that. Plus we did not have to check in with anything other than our drivers license and we didn't have to deal with pro rate and we were charged a month from the 23rd to the 23rd straight through. Nor did we have to give a 30 day written notice to leave. Desert Willows is a gorgeous park and it would have been great to stay there but the office lady was horrible and she wouldn't honor what we were told on the phone and all the stuff you have to provide to check in was ridiculous. Never will...
Read moreIf I could give these people a lower score I would. Staying at the Willow office staff is very VERY UNFRIENDLY towards the guest to a point they seem to be Racist? Cost is deposit 400.00 an rent + Electric is over 800.00 a month. Average guests spend on electricity 300 to 500 a month. It’s crazy high. Front out bound gate is broken today swing back and forth in the wind. Walked to office to report it. I watch several cars almost get high by the Heavy steel Gate Could you imagine that big gate hitting you nice automobile. And the damage wow. Walk to off. Locked of corse and knocked on door. After a few knocks staff gal popped out for the room on the right with mask on and stood 5ft front the door with her hand covering her face and proceeded to tell me I don’t have a appointment and she can’t help me. Me not want to see the park get sued because of the gate. I Told them they need to tie off the gate to keep it from swing or someone is going to get hurt and if someone does the possibility of getting sued is very likely if something happens. She reply they have it covered. And she walked away, ok. Humm. I looked towards the gate seeing it still swinging in the wind almost hitting another car trying to leave the park. I found the maintenance man. And told Him my concerns. He said he put a rock in from of the gate but someone stole it. Omg. Wind would push the gate with that rock really easy. To him should tie it off with rope or chain.
What do I care, so sad this place sense these kids took over, they running it into the ground. When anything happens to the park they seem to take it out on the people stay here. New set of rules and or rise of rent to make it harder on its guest
Don’t stay at this park. I’m now waiting to see what retaliation I’ll get for expressing concerns.
In my 50 plus years. I’m never seen a place so...
Read moreWe stopped for one night on our way to San Diego. We called before the office closed and they gave us the gate code and said to fill out a registration card. No site # was assigned, so we found an empty site to park for the night. The registration card stated that they would not take any other form of payment except a credit card or debit card. You had to list your credit card info on the form and drop it into an exterior box outside the door with just a small keyed lock. I was not going to leave my credit card overnight in a low secured box.
We went over to the office to pay the next morning and found the registration box lid open and nothing inside the box. No one was in the office and the door info said they opened at 10am. We waited until the office opened and the guy inside was busy putting things away while I was standing right in front of the glass door. Finally he let me in and I told him that had I known that they only take credit card, I would have given it to him over the phone to avoid leaving my credit card on the registration card. He said that it was not secure enough to take a credit card on the phone. I could not belive the current method was more secure. I paid and said I would not be back for the lack of secure method of payment.
The park is clean and spacious. Lots of drive thru to accommodate our 40 RV and towed car without unhooking. But we will not jeopardize our credit card for their unsecured method of payment for us to stop again at this RV Park...
