Beautiful, comfortable, modern, friendly, convenient airport hotel! This hotel has always been one of my favorite airport hotels. I love the design and look of the hotel and guestrooms. This Sheraton is a five story hotel located near the Richmond International Airport, making it the most convenient for guests traveling to and from the airport. Although not a new property, you would never know this walking into the hotel, as the entire facility looks brand new!! I have visited this hotel many times over the decades, but this was my first visit since the hotel became a Sheraton. The upgrades, remodeling and refurbished interior and exterior are amazing! The interior and exterior of the hotel looks and feels like a completely new facility. The lobby, registration and lounge areas are bright, open and inviting. My guestroom was equally inviting and comfortable. I absolutely love the mini-suite design, featuring a separate living room with work desk and bedroom. My guestroom, like the other areas of the hotel, has been completely remodeled with sleek, modern furniturings and amenities. My relaxed, quiet guestroom included two large flat screen TVs, mini refrigerator, safe, comfortable queen size bed and upgraded bathroom with glass, walk in shower. I had a pool/patio view from my guestroom. It appears the pool and outdoor patio/lounge areas have been refurbished and upgraded, too. In addition, it looked as if a few really nice fire pit, sitting areas have been added as well. If you are without a vehicle, there is not (to my knowledge) any restaurants nor shopping within walking distance of the hotel. However, I enjoyed a delicious Cheeseburger from the lounge, adjacent the lobby. The lounge offers a diverse menu and very reasonable pricing. The Cheeseburger sounded interesting to me. It turned out to be an excellent, delicious choice. The onion rings I ordered as a side were equally delicious! Finally, I must give a thank you to the staff associates. All of the individuals I had the pleasure meeting were very friendly and professional. I must give special recognition to Bruce, at the front registration desk, for being so kind and pleasant. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation. The Sheraton Richmond Airport is a fantastic hotel. I always enjoy my visits here. I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with the level of service provided during my recent stay at the Sheraton Richmond Airport Hotel. As a loyal customer, I expected a certain standard of hospitality, which unfortunately was not met during this visit.
Firstly, upon arrival, my team, comprising most of the 30 rooms booked at your hotel, requested the use of the conference room for a brief meeting lasting only 5 minutes. Shockingly, we were denied access by the front desk staff without any reasonable explanation, despite the room being available. This lack of flexibility and accommodation was highly unprofessional and inconvenienced our entire group.
Furthermore, our dining experience at the hotel's restaurant was equally disappointing. The service was excruciatingly slow, resulting in an unacceptable delay in receiving our meals. Even more concerning was the quality of the food served to my toddler. Not only did it take an excessive amount of time to arrive, but when it did, the dish contained inappropriate substitutions, including broccoli stems instead of the expected florets. This negligence and disregard for dietary preferences are unacceptable, especially when catering to young children.
In addition to these issues, our room also had problems. One of the rooms in our group had an infestation of ants, which is both unsanitary and unsettling. Furthermore, the refrigerator in our room malfunctioned, freezing our food intended for our toddler. This disregard for basic room maintenance and cleanliness is completely unacceptable for a hotel of your caliber.
To add to our dismay, despite politely requesting a late check-out, we were rudely denied this courtesy, despite observing other guests receiving this privilege. This inconsistency in service further demonstrates the lack of professionalism and fairness exhibited by your staff.
Overall, my experience at the Sheraton Richmond Airport Hotel was extremely unpleasant and fell far short of my expectations. I urge you to investigate these matters promptly and take appropriate actions to rectify the shortcomings in your service and facilities. Read moreI want to start by saying Ms. Shelby was the sweetest and kindest person at the Sheraton. She assisted my colleague and I by ensuring we had breakfast and even pack it away for us. Samantha was a great help as well. They were hospitable and ensured we were satisfied before we left. ||||My displeasure is with the check-out service. House keeping knocked on my door at 8:21am. Checkout is at 11:00am. I found that completely inappropriate. During check-out, I let the front desk agent know that they were two charges on my card for incidentals. One for ($33.46) and ($16.54). My print out ONLY reflected the $33.46 charge but I was assured this would be return in 3-5 business days. ||||My university had a credit authorization on file which paid for my colleagues and I stay. Imagine to my surprise today when I attempted to get gas and my card declined! Upon checking my bank transactions, I see that my card on file for incidentals was charged for my stay. Not only that, but my travel representative from my university received an email saying an additional night was charged because my stuff was still in the room at 11:00am. ||||However, my checkout document that I received is time-stamped for 10:47am and the records would also reflect my colleague and I took the 11:00am shuttle since our flight was at 12:45pm. This is completely unacceptable. I called the front desk and was told there’s nothing that can be done until the manager returns tomorrow. ||||So I’m currently inconvenienced, with no access to my personal funds because someone LIED by saying I wasn’t checked out by the 11:00am time. I expected better from the Sheraton and I’m probably never staying at this location because of shady practices. ||||I even greeted housekeeping twice by saying “good morning,” and didn’t even receive a response.
